Dog-friendly, cozy retreat less than a mile from Payette Lake & downtown!

Cozy and private, this home is tucked away on a quiet, wooded parcel just a few minutes from shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries, and all sorts of outdoor recreation in downtown McCall. You'll find every amenity you need to make this your home away from home, including a fenced yard for your kids and dogs, big windows that frame views of the wooded landscape, and comfortable furnishings that surround the gas fireplace (made to look like a wood stove). When the weather's warm, fire up the gas grill on the patio, enjoy a barbecue in the fresh air, and rekindle your memories of camp with s'mores around the firepit.

What's nearby:
This home sits three-quarters of a mile southeast of downtown McCall and the gorgeous shores of Payette Lake - a magnet for swimming, water and jet skiing, sailing, and fishing. Hang out on the sand at Davis Beach, or get your exercise in with a hike or a bike ride in Ponderosa State Park (both are two miles north). Golfers will have three courses - the McCall Golf Club, Jug Mountain, and White Tail - to choose from, and cyclists will find more than five miles of signed, paved and unpaved paths within the city limits. Come winter, there's great skiing, snowboarding, and sledding at Brundage Mountain, Tamarack, and Jug Mountain, all of which are within a 20-mile drive.

We have passed up this place during the previous years we have stayed in McCall because other places were available for the same price and were nicer. We tried this place this year since it has a fenced in yard for the dog, and were surprised the condition is even worse than the images portray. We probably won’t stay here again unless the owners reduce the price to be the bargain it should be, or invest in upgrades, specifically new mattresses, bedroom furniture, flooring and cabinets.
Manager response:
Pamela, thank you for your honest feedback following your stay. We are very sorry to hear you were not completely satisfied with your stay. We have passed your comments along to our local manager who will address your concerns with the homeowner. We hope we have the opportunity to host you for an unforgettable stay in the future!

Proximity to downtown McCall was excellent, located in a quiet neighborhood

Great place for a family and pet!

We enjoyed our stay in McCall very much. The house was adaquate for our needs. I wouldn’t recommend it for a family with small children. The carpet in the living room needed shampooing badly. Everything else was clean and well taken care of. Location was close to town and golf .

I loved that this house was so well stocked. It had everything we needed including a crockpot.

We were really happy to find this great dog-friendly property. Our two Goldens loved playing in the deep snow in both the front and back yards. The house was a perfect fit for 6 adults, and well furnished. Nice location in a quiet, wooded neighborhood was easy walking distance to the center of town if you don't mind a little exercise.

Everything was as listed. Beautiful property and excellent service from Vacasa.

The location of this home is great. Close to downtown. And a fenced yard for the pup! This is a smaller home, but pretty cozy, and having the rooms upstairs made a nice separate space for the kids to go. There are a few updates or repairs that should be addressed, but overall it was decent for the price. We had a lovely Christmas here!

Very nice -great location

The house was equipped well enough and our 4 legged friend was with us. However, we had to pick up previous piles of dog deposit outside which was a disappointing way to start. The living room also had a stain. it just seemed a little dirty. The functionality of the house was fine and well stocked linens, necessary toiletries and plenty of hot water made the stay pleasant. Also loved the king size bed in the master. Nice area to walk our dog.
Manager response:
We apologize if previous guests have not been cleaning up after their pets. We ask that guests please be responsible for their pet's messes, and we will ask housekeeping to keep an eye on the situation and pick up the slack. The carpet will be professionally cleaned after the busy summer season.

This home is very conveniently located, and was comfortable. We were able to easily navigate the kitchen to find anything we needed for cooking our meals. It was also a plus to have our fur babes with us! There is no A/C in this home, however there were plenty of fans to cool it down and that was much appreciated. We would stay here again!

Enjoyed our stay. House was adequate and was nice and warm.

The property was very cozy, and comfortable, within walking distance to town, to view the parade and to restaurants.

This is a very middle of the road location close to McCall. Prefect for a group of 4 or more. The home is older but in pretty good shape. Everything works and it is exactly as described.

Great stay, comfortable home with a picnic area in the back for outdoor dining in the summer. Walking distance to most things, but inconvenient walk if you're brining water toys (SUPs/Kayak).

Had a wonderful time!! The location of our rental home was perfect for just parking the car and walking everywhere.

I would find it hard to find anuthing to prevent a future stay.

We loved our time in McCall. However, we weren't as pleased with this rental. It was dated and was smaller than the pictures seemed to show. It just wasn't as nice of a place as we would have liked. But the price was in our range, so I guess you get what you pay for. The location was great and the neighborhood was nice and we always felt safe. We couldn't get the gas fireplace to work and there were light bulbs out in the garage and in the winter it was very dark and we couldn't see as we parked our car and walked to the front door (in the winter with all of the snow you had to access the front door through the garage). Overall it was an okay property, but not great.

Great place to stay for a family ski trip in McCall!

It was literally a couple blocks from CM Backcountry, which is where we rented the snowmobiles from. Great house, perfect location! I will definitely be back again!!!

Our family had a great Christmas vacation in McCall. The house was plenty big for our family of five and very close to town. We had a ton of snow, so the kids sled on and dug a cave in the large snow piles made by the plow. It was relaxing to sit by the fireplace and watch all the deer roam the neighborhood. We were quite happy with this rental. Favorite activities included tubing at the nearby Activity Barn, going to the Gold Fork hot springs near Donelly, and taking in a movie at the great historic Roxy theater in Cascade.

This little spot was a deal and we enjoyed it! Perfect little weekend getaway!

We were very happy with our stay on Sunset Street. Vacasa made it very easy to book our stay and gave us all the information we needed. The home was cute and comfortable and had all of the amenities that we needed. Great to have a fenced yard for the dogs. We will stay here again!

We would definitely come back and stay here again. We can't wait for our next ski trip to McCall!
Breanne K. Oct 2014
We're so glad we stayed here for a recent weekend family getaway. The house is very clean and comfortable, the dogs loved the fenced yard, and we enjoyed some R&R and hiking in the area. We'll stay here the next time we're in McCall.

Super fun time! Loved the location-loved the fire pit-place was clean-nice neighbors--would love to come back!
Manager response:
Thank you so much for the nice review, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us. The Tapatio Pizza at Blue Moose is my favorite. You should try it the next time you come visit!

This is a VERY clean and comfortable house in a wooded setting. Lots of wildlife including deer & foxes roamed the neighborhood.
We were there during a very hot (mid 90's )week in July. The house does not have AC and the master bedroom has a large south facing window that kept the room hot all day and most of the night. Bring a fan and you'll be fine.
Overall a great place in a great location and we look forward to going back.
Mike C. Jul 2014
The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. It was fully furnished with everything we needed to cook a great meal. Thanks so much. We would not hesitate to rent again.

We usually spend our time in the McCall area hiking and backpacking. On this mid-October trip, the rental made the perfect spot for us to stay warm in the chilly a.m. and p.m. rather than shivering in a tent. Once the temps warmed up, we head out to our favorite hiking and kayaking destinations, which were about 20 minutes away. We enjoyed having the amenities of the rental, including a well-equipped kitchen, garage, comfortable beds and lots of space.

We enjoyed the roomy house with lovely yard, brick patio and fenced dog yard. The neighborhood is quiet and adorable - only 1.1 miles to downtown and the lake. Short walk to the delish Pancake House, Paradise Burgers and Subway! Two full bathrooms and spacious kitchen make this house feel like home. It was gorgeous sitting on the brick patio at the fire pit surrounded by beautiful flowers - like a secret garden. Handy large garage and large fenced backyard for the dogs (be warned there is no grass in the yard and very silty dirt sticks to the dogs and tracks into the home). This is the perfect place for an extended stay vacation in McCall. [We had 4 teens, 2 adults, 2 dogs and were very comfortable.]

Very nice property with a yard and a nice grill!
