We had a great time, I would recommend this cabin to anyone, we especially liked the sound of the creek at night.
We loved everything about this cabin. Perfect for two women friends. My only complaint was the. Fee for cleaning, taxes and what ever we were charged was as much as the three night rental fee.
A perfect quiet, secluded cabin in the woods, yet surprisingly close to everything Helen has to offer.
Enjoyed the privacy of this cabin. The setting is great with the babbling creek in the back of the cabin is peaceful.
Very much enjoyed our weekend. Cabin was so clean, WONDERFULLY private and peaceful with the beautiful creek, and so close to all the great hiking and Helen sights we wanted to see. Great space to enjoy with the dog (who also loved playing in the creek). Tons of fresh, soft, clean towels were great to use after hot tubs and jacuzzi relaxation. Pillows on the beds were way too hard for my preference but the bed was comfortable. Wish there was a little extra seating in the living to relax and enjoy the fire at night. Would definitely stay again but bring my own pillow.
This secluded little house sits right on the river. You can hear the water flowing even in the hot tub. I highly recommend this place for a nice quiet getaway
Perfect location and convenience. From fireplace to hot tub.....wonderful!
This cabin was wonderful! From the moss covered lane to the back yard creek, it was both well appointed and relaxing. The rain did not even dampen our spirits, but made it a little more cozy!
Great stay with our 2 kids. Very relaxing and felt secluded. Not far from downtown Helen. Enjoyed the hot tub and the beautiful backyard area. Thank you for a great first time in Helen GA.
We loved it was so close to Helen and that it snowed while we were there.
This cozy cabin was great! Small, but had everything you needed to make your stay comfortable. The hot tub was great and the kitchen had everything you needed. It was very secluded and quiet, but yet just minutes from the center of Helen. Looking forward to going back!
It was a really nice place. Will stay again!
Very secluded, but with all the comforts. Stream in the back yard was good for the soul. Will definitely return.
Cute little cabin perfect for my husband and child!!! Hot tub was super nice and being able to hear the creek was great!!! Very short drive to Helen. Cabin was very private!
We loved it and will be returning
Nice cabin and hearing the creek flowing behind it was so relaxing! My son didn't want to leave!
Perfect spot for a private getaway!
This cabin was great! A tucked away gem! Will definitely return for vacation!
The cabin is cute in a nice little location next to a creek. It's very quiet and calm there, yet only 5 minutes to Helen.
Lets just say this house needs some TLC. Obviously some money was spent recently to replace the back deck cover but stuff inside the house needed work. Pretty much all the blinds in the home were damaged. Since these were $5 blinds, $20 a few times a year would go a long way. The bottom posts on the 4 poster bed were missing, but one was laying behind the bed side table. There was a hole in the floor in front of the stove. You should put non marring feet on things like the chairs and couch etc since these things obviously have been moved around and are scratching up the floors. There was no drain plug for the bathroom tub, but a piece of rubber on the tub side that maybe was meant for that. You should cut some of the brush back so you can turn around at the end of the drive. There is a satellite dish in the yard, but only basic cable provided. The light was out in the fan in the bathroom. The light over the dining area is unsafe, the fixture separated and is hanging by the wires. The dining area seat cushion tie straps were torn so the cushions were loose. The ice maker didn't produce any ice the entire time we were there. The seats on the deck were so worn out that if we sat on them, they might self destruct.
I paid for cleaning, but other than the sheets and towels, it was hard to find anything else cleaned. The blinds in the house were filthy. One foot above the lamp in the living room that they left on for us had a huge spider web with another one a few feet higher up on the ceiling. I was welcomed to a dust and hair clump half the size of a baseball sitting on the fireplace hearth. The hot tub was unusable due to brown and white globules floating in the water which was totally gross. None of the kitchen appliances were clean enough to use. There was some kind of white stuff on the end of the kitchen sink's spigot with more stuff on the fixture itself. There was ice in the freezer from the previous renters and the ice that was in the ice maker box had some kind of black stuff on the ice. The counter around the stove looked like the stove top had been moved or replaced and this nasty line of old grease remained. There was hair in the tub in the bathroom and hair and some kind of red sticky goo on the bathroom counter. We basically had to assume nothing was clean so we didn't even cook or use any kitchen utensils to cook or eat. The glass table next to the bed was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The furniture was dusty pretty much everywhere. Next to the shower on the wall near the door there as some kind of reddish brown liquid remains that looked like it had run down the wall.
We are sorry to see there were some disappointments with this reservation and wish this guest had contacted us so we could assist them during their stay, especially with the sub-par clean that should not have happened. The damaged blinds have been replaced, the piece of rubber this guest mentioned is a round, flat plug for the tub, and the owner switched from satellite to cable once it became available in the area. Thank you!
This is a nice little property to stay at in Helen and it is really close to everything. It is VERY secluded and relaxing but you must take note of the description of the driveway/path to get to the cabin as it is not the easiest to maneuver. We had to rent this place at the last minute to attend my sister-in-law's surprise 50th birthday party and were really pleased with the cleanliness of it. We have already recommended it to some friends of ours who love their privacy and we will definitely stay here again ourselves.
Great cabin! The fireplace and hot tub were amazing!
We enjoyed the setting of this vacation home. It was very peaceful and quiet. Just be aware you have to take the trash off the property when you leave. It is a little inconvenient, especially with driving a car and having luggage and trash in your trunk. You will enjoy the comfortable, relaxing setting!
It was an amazing stay and loved everything around us.
It was very nice experience in this cabin which is closer to the downtown and all other visiting places. Peaceful location is an added advantage. I enjoyed the stay and would love to comeback!
Nice cabin, very secluded. It was a little hard to find and very dark getting to it.
This is actually were my husband proposed to me november of 2015. We just got married in june and got to stay again after getting married. I love the property. It's a beautiful area and the cabin itself is perfect. Perfect sized, perfect setup, love it. Since we were there the first time, they covered the back deck where the hot tub is so that was a great surprise. Can't put into words how much i love it. Thank you!!!!
Thanks we enjoyed our stay
Our little family of four greatly enjoyed our stay! We plan to go back again!
Bed is very high in bedroom. There are step stools, but they slid. The mattress itself was awesome once you climbed to it.
Hot tub didn't look clean.
Huge leak when it rained on back porch.
Refrigerator didn't cool well. Freezer would freeze ice trays, but didn't keep our frozen biscuits frozen ( which was weird actually).
The lawn was unkempt. Lots of overgrowth.
I apologize for my review, but would not stay here again.
Oh, there are bushes protruding into driveway, which you have to try avoiding or you will scratch your vehicle.
Last 😏; you have to carry your trash to the office- which is about 5 miles away, and was out of our way to do.
We appreciate having this review to respond to and are sorry to see it is not more positive. The hot tub was cleaned just prior to guest arrival. The roof on the deck is new, and now that we know about the leak we will get it taken care of right away. The lawn is trimmed regularly, but with all the rain it has been growing very quickly. We have checked the refrigerator and have not found a problem. Thank you!
Enjoyed our time at the home. Clean and well-equipped. The beds are comfortable. Conveniently located near town but far enough away to get your privacy. Hot tub outside was clean and well-maintained. also need to know that they had added a cover over the back porch which is not shown in the pictures which made it very nice to sit out even if it rained. I wouldn't recommend for a family of older kids has the room upstairs has no privacy. Perfect for a couple and some small kids would not also recommend for multiple couples as the upstairs bedroom also has no privacy.
On a side note we brought our two dogs with us and there was a tick problem in the yard apparently they are bad this year in 2017. Once we realize not to take the dogs out into the grass we didn't have much of a problem we kept them on the driveway and gravel areas. But overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Laurel Creek cabin and highly recommended to anybody else who wants to stay there. Really we have no major complaints here. One other thing I would recommend is to place a dumpster closer to the cabin or arrange for the cabin to use a dumpster that is closer to it the drive to the dumpster that is provided for us to use is 5 miles away on top of a mountain.
This is a comfortable, lovely, secluded little home, away from Helen, but close enough to pop into town when needed. The back patio is lovely, and the brook behind (Horton Creek) makes this a perfect spot to just sit and listen to the birds and the babbling brook and read a book. I even found a spot next to the brook to hang a hammock. So that's the good part. The bad is that it wasn't at all clean, so we had to do it ourselves to make things liveable. We ended up cleaning the range top ourselves, as the top and drip pans were filthy. No ice maker, so I'd recommend buying a bag of ice, and fridge wasn't all that cold. Sofa had trash in it, and don't look underneath it! Patio furniture was filthy and chairs are rotting out, so sit carefully. No place to hang towels or anything else in the bathroom, other than draping over a door or on the tub. We never figured out how to get a channel on the TV other than FX. No big. And unless you like living on the edge, DO NOT plan to use the grill. The grill is a rusted out fire-trap. Propane tank valve is frozen open, so no way to shut it off in case of emergency. Cooking grate is rusted out, as is the heat-dispersion shield. The inside was coated with grease and gunk, as we discovered when the whole thing caught fire after we got it going. Bottom line, this grill is a fire hazard that needs to be replaced.
All the problems above are easily fixable. My hope is someone pays attention to this and other reviews, and makes this a totally great place to stay.
The home has been thoroughly cleaned and inspected. The propane tanks are full and not stuck open on the grill, and the grate has been replaced. Thank you!
The cabin was nice and very clean. The view of the backyard was incredible! You can sit in the hot tub and listen to the creek and completely relax. The beds were very comfy and both the kitchen and bathroom were well stocked with supplies. The only complaint I had was having to drive with my trash for 10 miles as that is where the closest provided dump site was located. Other than that, I had no issues and enjoyed my stay.
We enjoyed our stay very much!
Area was peacful to visit. Would be nice if more Bath towels were provided on propert or a way to wash and dry your own cloths/towels. Towels were hard to dry in cold weather especially after showering or using hot tub. Some extra would be great. I even drove out to BlueRidge Cabins main office twice and no one was their. The cabin air filter and air ducts were very dusty and clogged with dog hair and dirt. Discovered when entire family was sneezing and caughing during our stay.
Loved the hot tub! Very comfortable and high quality! The bed was comfortable that we slept in. Cable TV, comfy couch, creek out back, loved it!
Convenient,immaculate,quiet!!! Couldn't ask for more...very relaxing!!!!
Accomodations wee exactly as pictured... secluded but just a 19 min drive to Helen or Ana Ruby Falls. We used the grill, hot tub and spent lots of time on the deck enjoying the view. Would have loved chipped wood for outdoor fire pit but overall fabulous!!!
