Oceanfront home w/ private hot tub & deck, beach access & shared pools/tennis!

You'll be within steps of the most beloved beach in Sea Ranch at this beautiful four-bedroom home, an oceanfront escape with gorgeous views of the water, a private deck and hot tub, and nearby access to community swimming pools, tennis courts, and saunas.

Bovill at Shell beach is a family vacation home of over forty years, located in a quiet neighborhood, where neighbors are respected and where Sea Ranch regulations are always followed. It's not the place to come for blaring music or loud games but rather a place to enjoy the pristine beauty of the North Pacific coast and the multitude of recreational activities at the Sea Ranch, surrounding communities and coast.

Dramatically situated on the bluffs that overlook the Pacific Ocean, this single-level home sits directly above the tidepools and sandy shores of Shell Beach. You'll be only a few steps from the Bluff Trail; two miles south of the outdoor pool, tennis courts, and saunas at the Del Mar Recreation Center; and five miles south of the markets and restaurants in downtown Gualala.

Comfortable, plush, and full of quintessential Sea Ranch charm, this home is the perfect getaway for families, groups of friends, or couples in search of romance and relaxation. Step inside to find a light-filled living area with natural wood ceilings, a soft sectional sofa, and a wall of windows that frame the open ocean.

Come home from an afternoon walk on the Bluff Trail to curl up with a novel in the cushioned window seat, set up a board game at the eight-person dining table, or throw a few logs in the cozy stone fireplace. Create a tranquil iPhone soundtrack for the sound dock stereo system, use the WiFi to plan your next hike, or watch a DVD, Blu-ray, or cable movie on the wall-mounted flatscreen TV.

Wake up each morning to grind your own coffee beans, whip up some homemade pancake batter, and read the newspaper outside on the ocean-facing deck. Back inside, the gourmet kitchen offers stainless steel appliances, green marble countertops, and a dishwasher to take care of the plates and glasses.

Leave dinner bubbling away in the slow cooker and head down to Shell Beach for a morning of wiffle ball and tidepooling. Come lunchtime, rinse off the salt in the spacious tiled shower (which is accessible from outside), light the gas grill for an afternoon barbecue, and sit down to eat with a panoramic view of the ocean.

In search of a bit more peace and quiet? Retreat to the sheltered interior courtyard to relax in the sunshine or play a game of cards among the strawberry plants and calla lilies. You can also grab your bathing suits and towels from the washer/dryer and soak in the soothing warmth of the private hot tub.

With four bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms, this Sea Ranch home will accommodate eight guests. Watch spectacular sunsets on the deck before retreating to the master suite, which features a king-size bed, a private fireplace and flatscreen TV, and an attached bathroom with a tub and a shower. The second bedroom offers a queen-size bed among the bookshelves, while the third and fourth bedrooms have a queen-size bed and two twin beds, respectively.

Your little ones will sleep soundly in the provided Pack 'n Play. And although the Sea Ranch community has only sparse cell phone service, a landline phone is available for your ease and convenience.

As one of the best-kept secrets of the Northern California Coast, Sea Ranch offers a glimpse of the region in its incredible, untouched glory. Follow the Bluff Trail to reach Stengel Beach and Walk On Beach, make a morning tee time at the cypress-lined Sea Ranch Golf Links three miles north, or spend your days swimming and practicing your backhand at the Del Mar Recreation Center.

Take a leisurely drive on California Highway 1 to reach the Point Arena Lighthouse 23 miles north or the artsy town of Mendocino 54 miles north. Along the way, you'll find incredible cliffs and rock formations, as well as the best pizza in the area at Upper Crust Pizzeria in downtown Gualala.

Your unforgettable trip to Sea Ranch begins today - don't miss out on this incredible oceanfront home!

We've rented Bovill over the years, it remains our favorite. It's the biggest available. We like what you've done in the kitchen. Thank you for continuing to share.

Booked a stay with an extended family of 8 and had a wonderful time. The location is clearly a premium and has views of the ocean from almost every room and the large decks. The property is located as close as possible to Shell Beach and an easy mile hike to Walk-On Beach. For the amenities, beds and linens were comfortable. At night we made use of the new 4K SMART TV and decent Wifi bandwidth. The fantastic modern hot tub was definitely a plus, and is perhaps the one place that doesn't have an ocean view but instead placed in the front side of the property in a well-maintained garden. Kitchen is relatively large, stocked, and fairly modern appliances. The price was a bit high for the week we booked but if available again, we would highly considering booking again for our traditional summer trip next year.

Joann, the on site or local property manager. She is amazing. We've never before received su h personalized assistance, so punctual, so friendly, so helpful. Thank you joann.
House setting was lovely, but house is dated and awkward, which is why Joan was so terrific.

Outstanding views of the coast and right next to walking path. Hot tub contributes to relaxation and the feeling of vacation. Living room is very spacious and comfortable; master bedroom also big with an excellent view. 2nd bathroom is inconvenient to 2 of the bedrooms. Some things on the list of kitchenwares were missing. House needs some updating and refreshing.

Great location and cozy. Some things were not working - dishwasher and one bathroom shower was clogged but if these were fixed I would stay again.
Manager Response:
The dishwasher has been fixed and the shower drain has been cleared by a plumber. Thanks!

Just steps from beach access, this home was perfect for a surprise bday getaway. Group of 6 slept comfortably and was able to use the kitchen for great family meals. Sounds of the ocean and sunset sky's make this a great getaway. Highly recommended from a group of mid-twenty year olds.

Road construction stops exhausting but once you reach the house, you are transported to another world----beauty and proximity to the beaches, well equipped kitchen that allows you to whip up anything delicious you dream up and gas grill to cook steaks and perfect salmon steaks you just bought at Surf Market in Gualala.

What a view! This place is great. Right off the beach, no other houses in front of you, just a little pathway to the ocean. It's family friendly, stocked with board games, movies, etc,. We loved the private fenced in courtyard garden with the big jacuzzi. Nice artwork on the walls. Nice kitchen. Whale watching off the back porch with your coffee. It sure was hard to leave. We will definitely be back.

We love Sea Ranch and first visited it 30 years ago. This home is a lovely, quiet and private house with four bedrooms, four showers and two toilets (an interesting combination and lay-out) on a bluff right above the beautiful and popular Shell and Tide Pool Beaches. The house is comfortable with nice views and accessibility. Our kids loved the hot tub. We grilled our dinners and enjoyed walking down to the beaches. The seals come up on Shell Beach by the afternoon, which is fun to see. The tide pools are fun to watch for all ages. We also enjoyed Del Mar pool, which is a short ride north. The house is an easy 10 minutes away from Gualala for groceries or a meal. We found the house convenient, comfortable, but still a retreat. We could have stayed many more days. There are a few things that could be upgraded, but being in a cabin-like setting, these didn't bother us.

Our family absolutely loved this vacation house! The location is perfect within the Sea Ranch community. Great views of the Pacific and an easy trail to Shell Beach (which is my favorite in this area). The house was very clean with all the amenities you could ask for. Gorgeous views from the many windows in the living room and master bedroom not to mention the deck! The secret garden with its blooming flowers and large relaxing hot tub was a nice touch. The chefs in the family loved the spacious kitchen with new appliances. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

The Bovill house has the perfect location - right along the bluff with a five minute walk to the beach. The various patios gave us options for our relaxation time, and even the front yard was like discovering a secret garden when we opened the gate. The beds and blankets were cozy, and the walk-in dual shower was a cool surprise. Wood paneling and older cabinetry make the house feel a little a dated, but the newer kitchen and bathrooms felt clean and modern. We loved our stay here and would happily return for another retreat.
