Ocean view home w/ private hot tub, shared pools & beach access - dogs OK!

Hike along the Bluff Trail and take morning strolls to Walk On Beach from this three-bedroom Sea Ranch escape, a dog-friendly home with a private hot tub, community swimming pools and tennis courts, an enclosed yard with a firepit, and sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean.

This secluded, single-level home sits close to the rugged bluffs that Sea Ranch is known for, offering guests immediate access to Walk On Beach at the end of the road. You'll be one mile south of the Del Mar Recreation Center (which offers a heated outdoor pool, saunas, and two tennis courts), less than a mile from Shell Beach, and four miles south of downtown Gualala.

This ocean view retreat is an ideal home base for families with children, a couple looking for romance, or a group of friends. It's also next door to the three-bedroom Samson Getaway, creating a convenient setup for multi-family trips (please call Vacasa for additional details).

Upon entering the living space, you'll be greeted by high ceilings, a spacious sectional sofa, and a wall of windows that overlook the ocean. Use the provided logs to build a fire in the stone hearth, choose a good book from the shelves, or sit down at the coffee table to play a board game with your children.

Wake up each morning to watch deer roam through the coastal meadows, and make breakfast as a family in the full kitchen. This cozy space is equipped with standard appliances, a dishwasher, plentiful cabinet storage, and an adjacent dining room with window-side seating for six.

Take a brisk morning walk with your dog along the Bluff Trail, and look for seashells and starfish on Walk On Beach. Return home read the newspaper in the enclosed garden, light the charcoal grill for lunch, and sit down to eat at one of the two patio tables.

After long days of playing wiffle ball on the sand, you'll have an outdoor shower to help you rinse off and WiFi to assist in posting photos of the fun. Take an afternoon soak in the private hot tub, roast marshmallows around the outdoor firepit, and end the evening with a DVD movie night on the flatscreen cable TV.

With three bedrooms and two bathrooms, Anam Cara will accommodate a total of eight guests. Two of the bedrooms have a queen-size bed apiece, while the third bedroom has two sets of twin-size bunkbeds that are a delight for small children. You'll also have use of two bathrooms with full-size tubs, a stereo system, and a washer/dryer for all of your laundry needs.

As one of the most tranquil escapes on the majestic Northern California Coast, Sea Ranch is a wonderful place to relax into nature. Spend your days swimming and practicing your tennis serve at one of the three recreation centers, or play a scenic round of golf at the Sea Ranch Golf Links only two miles north.

Explore the rugged beauty of Shell Beach and Stengel Beach, watch for whale spouts as you walk on the Bluff Trail, and take a late afternoon drive to admire the sunset from the Point Arena Lighthouse 22 miles north. Just remember to pick up a few delicious pizzas at Upper Crust Pizzeria on your way back through Gualala.

Anam Cara is a lovely place. It has an amazing view and incredible back garden that is bursting with flowers. The hot tub is enormous!

This is a great place..met my needs, which included well-equipped kitchen, nice fenced-in area for dog-play, hot tub, comfortable beds and nice bedding (including warm comforters)...and a great view. Easy access to trails was another plus.

This was our 2nd stay at Anam Cara. We looked at other options but didn't find anything that appeared better suited for us. The view across the meadow to the ocean is awesome. The outdoor shower is a nice option. The hot tub is wonderful for sunsets and the amazing stars. Having the fenced yard is a big plus for the dog. The location gives easy access to the bluff trail and a few beaches. We saw many deer, rabbits, quail, humming birds, and a snake on the trail. The Sea Ranch Sheep escaped their fencing one early afternoon running through the back yard causing all the neighbors to come out for a closer look. The Shepherd arrived to give a call and off they went to him! The owners have made quite a few improvements in the past year- new flooring, pots & pans, bedding and the bench seating in the yard. Enjoyed reading The Sea Ranch revised edition too! We would happily move in permanently.

amazing sunsets and view of the deer and meadow made it easy to not ever have to leave.beds were very comfortable and kitchen was very nice to use.the yard was perfect-really enjoyed the birds and hummingbirds that live there.

Such a lovely little house and garden, with sweeping views of the meadows and ocean about 1.5 blocks from the ocean trails. It's a classic vacation cabin, unassuming and super comfortable with plenty of seating to stretch out and relax. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with anything you can think you'd ever need. The beds are comfy too! We loved the Sea Ranch style, the vintage books and games and the wifi and cable was there if we needed it. The fenced yard was great for our little dog, and we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit toasting marshmallows and of course the hot tub was glorious! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and hope to return sometime!

Location close to the beach. Spacious home. Clean and fully equipped. Our second time in this house.

The house is clean and comfortable for a family. The beach access is less than 5 min walk pn trail from the house. It has great ocean view from the house. The jacuzzi is awesome after a day at the beach.

So relaxing. Great views and quick access to the coast trail. The house has everything and is very comfortable for sitting/sleeping/dining. Would definitely stay here again. And the dogs loved lounging in the secured yard.

Stayed there for my daughter's wedding. Beautiful big windows looking out on the scenery. A little out dated but cozy and perfect for the family.

good all around experience. close to cliff trail(s), fun selection of games if you get rained in, as we did. Surprisingly good wifi (stayed at other SR places where its limited to almost nothing).

Only negative is hot tub placement...very close to neighbor and views blocked by tree.

would stay there again

Great location, but dont expect luxury, despite the price. Its failry small for the number of people it claims to fit, and the bathrooms desperately need renovatiobn.

House built in 1971 are the utensils , appliances and furniture
Feels old and rustic. Great hot tub .
We had a severe fly problem....yuck.
No screen door. Holes in windows screens.
30 foot wall of windows for fantastic views.
If you don't mind roughing it ..this is for you 🙂
Manager response:
We are sorry to see flies were a nuisance during this reservation. The flies are bad everywhere in the area this time of year. The screens are scheduled to be replaced, and the property manager and owner will be working together on other improvements. Thanks!

This is a perfect place for family. We were 6 of us and there was still room/beds for 2 more adults. Close to the beach, hike along the coast and even a volleyball court in the nearby park East from the house. The location and orientation of the house gives perfect view of the sunset. The totally enclosed and private front yard area can be used to unleash your kids or pets and feel safe.
We will keep this house on our radar screen for future visits.
Thank you.

We loved this place and have already recommended it to friends and family. My only reservation about saying too many good things is that it will get overly crowded. Thanks again!

This house was perfect for our short getaway with friends visiting from Germany. The location is stunning, and the drive from San Francisco was gorgeous at every bend of the road. There is a wonderful bluff trail just five minutes from the front door of the house, with beach access and wildlife for days. We saw sea lions, deer, woodpeckers, rabbits, swallows, and just enjoyed the views from the garden and hot-tub area. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and come together. The house is not fancy but homey, and you really feel like a guest in a special place. Bring your own charcoal for the grill!

Loved the hot tub and closeness of trails to beach

Its a cozy house in the always wonderful Sea Ranch. The housekeeping is a real negative to such a positive place
Manager response:
We apologize if housekeeping was lacking for this stay. Had we been notified by the guest we would have sent housekeeping out as soon as possible to rectify the matter. The Property Manager has refunded this guest their cleaning fee and has followed-up with the housekeeper responsible for this reservation. Thank you!

The house is in a beautiful location with wonderful views and easy access to a beach. There were no matches with which to light the fire. There were also ants which got into our food.
The hot tub is great. Beds were comfortable. I would probably not go back due to ants

We loved the location of the house. It was a little funky but that was perfect for us since they allowed us to bring our three dogs. We so loved the lovely fenced yard, the views, the quiet, and the kitchen was well equipped. It is so hard to travel with our furry babies and we so appreciated this lovely home for allowing us to bring our loved ones. Such a relaxing vacation.

We loved the big, open space for flying kites that were in the drawer--we're not sure if the grownups or small children enjoyed that more. We also took a nice hike down to the beach each morning to contribute to the driftwood forts and play in the sand.

The neighborhood was quiet and we felt super safe and happy to have chosen this place. The stars were incredible each night, and we enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets each day.

The knives in the kitchen were so sharp--we were very impressed. And the hot tub was a huge hit, too. We made s'mores one night on the firepit--the skewers were great--we had all the tools we needed. It was also great to have onsite laundry, and a home stocked with household supplies.

We LOVED the games and movies and books for the kids/family. And the wifi + view + neighborhood were just perfect.

We're looking forward to a return visit.
