We had a terrific time in San Ignacio at Casa de Cahal Pech! The house was exactly as pictured. It was clean and well stocked with all we needed. My family loved swinging in the hammocks and playing games at the large dining room table!

We enjoyed our time here, it was a unique experience and a great location! Comfortable beds and kids loved the hammock swings!”

Loved staying at Casa de Cahal Pech. Huge space, clean, comfortable. The views over the city were nice. Kitchen was big and well stocked. Would definitely stay there again

Convenient location that's clean and cozy. Cabs are no problem.

The house was really nice, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We loved the location, the house and the staff down and Midas, including Animious the groundskeeper, Andrea at the desk and Robertson the slate artist!!

But there were a few issues:
- the door was jammed at check-in and we couldn’t figure out how to get in the house, so I had to drive to the resort and ask for help
- even though there had been no water at the house all day, no one told us it was turned off, so I made a second trip down to the resort to figure out the issue
- even though they knew we had no water for many hours (besides the big bottles of
Drinking water) they never contacted us to let us know when it would be back on or to ask if we needed more water.
- the ad said there was a pool, but it was a 5 min drive away at the Midas resort. That was okay, we enjoyed going there each day, but it’s not what I had signed up for
- the Midas resort said it had a pool-side bar, but it was mostly closed when we were there because it wasn’t busy
- the house gate took muscle to open and close, but they still have us the electronic fob from when it was electric.
- Sone unfinished carpentry around the house and some electronics (stereo and PlayStation) don’t seem to work.
Manager response:
We are glad to hear this guest enjoyed their stay! The doors are being replaced and the mechanical door has been fixed. Unfortunately, the water company did not let us know the water would be shut off in the entire town that day. We apologize for the inconvenience. The pool bar is closed when it is very slow, however, we do advise guests that they can let us know if they need anything from the bar. We hope to have the opportunity to host this guest again in the future!

"This place is a definite gem. Amazing location with awesome views and a stone's throw from everything and everywhere you want to explore in San Ignacio. I would suggest a car as this place sits in the hills and without a car, you'll be getting quite the workout on foot. The house has everything that you'll need from a fully functional kitchen to wonderfully appointed restrooms. The master bath is absolutely gorgeous with a dual head shower and double sinks. Bottom line: I would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

We loved everything about this house. It was spacious, with comfortable and attractive furnishings, the staff was helpful, kind and personable. We loved the local farmers’ market and if we had been there long we would have gone there to buy fresh produce for every meal. My only regret was that we didn’t have more time there. Our visit was overly way too quickly.

Everything was great in this incredible house

Lots of space, very clean and directly next to the entrance of the Maya ruins.

The house was huge and very comfortable for our big family. They had everything we needed to cook and make the house our base for activities while we were in San Ignacio. The house was very clean and the air conditioning was cold, which we loved. The staff at the Midas were very friendly and helpful. We loved that we could be in the privacy of a house but have the pool and bar amenities not too far away.

Nice big house with great views of the valley. new appliances and big screen TV's, close proximity to the Cahal Pech Mayan ruins. The employees that greeted and checked us in were also great.

Loved that we could just make ourselves at home and not have the pressures of a hotel etc. It was very well kept and stocked. Beds were wonderful, and baths were well planned.

My wife and I along with two other couples recently spent two days in San Ignacio using this house as our base to visit Tikal. The house was lovely. Clean and spacious. A wonderful kitchen and great deck overlooking the city. Overall we loved our visit and would return again.

The home was gorgeous very modern and had everything that you can think of that you would need. The location was amazing, from the house you can Overlook the city and it was very close to all shops and restaurants.

The staff at Midas Resort which is where we checked in at for the home it was very friendly and it's so accommodating I didn't catch the lady's name at the front desk but she was amazing she did everything she could to help us out in every way she could. I would definitely stay here again.

The place is beautiful but it’s a little away from downtown and on a hill so there’s quite a hike to get to it. It’s fully gated which is awesome and made us feel very safe. Wish they had a landline that we could’ve used so I didn’t have to turn on my phone to call places. Otherwise it was overall a great stay.

the house was amazing-looks just like in the pictures!!!! Everything was clean and comfortable!!! The kitchen is fully stocked with just about any appliance you could want and there are alot of pots, pans, dishes and silverware. You can easily walk right doen the hill to several supermarkets/grocery stores and into town and if you don't want to have to carry your things back up a cab is just 3$(US) The view was amazing since you are on top of the hill overlooking the city. Also the house is right next to cahal pech ruins which are definately worth going to. We loved it and did not want to leave to come home!!!

We had a group of 3 couples and this was a great house to accommodate all of us. The house is very nice and has a view of the valley. The staff was very pleasant and helpful when arranging taxis as we did not have a car. Thanks for a great stay and I would recommend to anyone looking for adventure in San Ignacio.
Jameli B. Aug 2017
Wonderful home, clean and it includes laundry service. Walking distance to everything.

The house is really great. Perfect location (literlaly right next to Cahal Pech) and just a short 10 minute or less ride into the middle of town. Great views in the morning and the evening off the front deck. Shower in the master bath is awesome and the house has the 2 largets TV's in Belize. A nice upscale kitchen to cook in and a full dining table. We were traveling (4 ppl - a couple and a mother / son so we each had our own rooms) with a group and there was plenty of space to enjoy time together and still enough to get away to our separate areas for private times. We would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting explore San Ignacio and the area ruins. Good hospitality from the staff - everyone was helpful and friendly. We will stay here again on our next trip to San Ignacio
