Cozy & quiet cabin w/ natural beauty close to all the sights of southern Lopez!

There are few places better for a restful, no-worries retreat than Washington's Lopez Island, and this cabin provides the perfect home base as you explore the sleepiest of the San Juans. Great for kayakers and boaters, it's just a 10-minute walk to the Hunter Bay Public Boat Launch and Beach.

This quiet home for six is only eight miles from the small shops of Lopez Village, but the tree-covered surroundings provide a peaceful atmosphere. Little touches like the stone path leading to the cabin and a log-affixed basketball hoop out back provide the property with plenty of rustic charm.

Step inside and stroll past the laundry room to the living room at the end of the hall. There are carpeting and vaulted ceilings that are made from the same hardwood as the walls holding them up. From here, step outside to the deck to breathe in some fresh air, or lounge with your loved ones on the sectional sofa near the wood-burning fireplace.

The small loft upstairs provides a futon with a flatscreen cable TV, as well as a DVD player and library. Between these and the free WiFi (limited), you'll have plenty of entertainment options.

The kitchen is only a few steps away, with modern appliances, gorgeous wooden cabinets, and plenty of counterspace. Enjoy your meals at the breakfast bar seats for five, or head out to the deck for a barbecue in the open air!

Leave cleanup for the dishwasher and head off to bed. Two bedrooms, along with the futon in the upstairs loft, allow six guests to stay here. The master bedroom downstairs has a queen-size bed, with two double beds in the upstairs bedroom. Two full bathrooms let everyone start the day easily before heading out to explore!

The less populated south side of Lopez has a wealth of natural beauty just waiting to be explored. Watmough Head to the southeast is one of the island's best-kept secrets, with a short forest path that leads to a breathtaking bay surrounded by forests and rock formations.

The views are only rivaled by Iceberg Point to the southwest - the rocky terrain and waves crashing below provide dramatic scenery you don't often get the chance to experience in real life. Wherever you go, you're only a short drive from a delicious pastry at Holly's Bakery.

Place your reservation today and leave all your worries behind you with a truly relaxing Lopez Island getaway!

We couldn’t have asked for better place to stay. The house was very clean and so well stocked that there wasn’t a single thing we needed that wasn’t there. Beautiful house, beautiful surroundings. So quiet and peaceful. The beds were incredibly comfortable too. It was wonderful sitting out on the deck and eating breakfast, or sitting on the chairs by the big rock at the front of the house and just enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Very pretty quote little get away place to stay. Even got to watch two fawn nibble their morning grass from the back deck.

The kitchen was well equiped with dishes and all the necessities for making our own meals. The location was great for quiet comfort, but close enough to water and town. the back deck and basketball court were favorite spots for our two teenagers. We enjoyed the books and games.

Lots of good books to read, washer and dryer was nice to have, one of the beds upstairs was not very comfortable but kids might not notice. TV was too small to watch!

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights and loved the cabin and Lopez Island. The cabin was well stocked with anything we could have needed for cooking/entertainment. The TV is a very small 13-15" monitor so if that matters to you, take note.

We loved the wood burning fireplace and brought our own firewood to use it. They do not provide firewood so bring your own if you want to use it.

Lopez Island offers an abundance of free parks and hiking trails with many of them publicly owned "nature preserves." Check out Watmough Bay, Lopez Hill, or Hummel Lake as just a few fun walks. We were really impressed with the outdoor activities available and definitely want to come back to Lopez Island someday.

If you are willing to pay, you can also rent bikes, kayaks, etc.

The directions to the cabin are wrong. Whoever emails them out simply uses google maps directions which are also wrong. The cabin is located directly off of Islandale Road, not Lodgepole Lane as listed in the directions.

What we did not like about this cabin was the surrounding "neighborhood." You have very visible trashy neighbors directly to the left of the cabin as you pull into the driveway. Toys/trash/junk strewn all around the yard. Just generally very unpleasant to have to look at every time you walk outside the cabin. We didn't even go on the porch because we were in full view of the trashy neighbors. I would suggest the owners plant a privacy hedge as that would completely change the feel of the cabin.

Overall, a great interior experience and great island. No privacy in the worst way.

The house was comfortable. Having two bathrooms and a decent-sized kitchen was a real plus. The directions to the property routed us down a dirt road that had many potholes in it. We found an easier way to the property (stayed on the main road). This might be a result of using the directions provided in the welcome letter, which appeared to be from "google maps", instead of the actual practical way to get to the property.
