Dog Friendly Room with Kitchen Located Near the Beach and Downtown

What we loved: 1. Felt safe. Priority #1 when traveling as a mom with a young child. 2. Excellent staff. I lost my security code for the door lock AND we arrived late due to a flight delay. Even at 10pm the staff was quick to text me back and get us in our room and on wifi so we could check in with family at home (because cell service is spotty along the rural coast, wifi here was a life saver). 3. Clean. Everything was clean. Yes, it's a BEACH rental so sand and the wear/tear of beach life is just part of it. But everything was clean and tidy. Worn in but someone took great care that it was scrubbed and we had dish soap, a new roll of paper towels, a new dish sponge, dishwasher pods, and a broom (traveling with a kiddo I especially appreciated having a broom). We had an abundance of clean towels (extras under the sink) as well as 2 beach towels! 4. There is a kitchenette! With a FULL SIZE fridge and freezer. And a full size coffee pot. And a toaster oven! We didn't really cook but used the microwave and fridge alot. Which was amazing as restaurants along the coast had odd hours or were closed Mondays. So we ate breakfast in (on the east facing balcony) and packed our lunches. (I suggest the Fred Meyer in Tillamook for groceries.) 5. They have a HUGE stainless sink in the kitchen! As moms know- this is useful for everything. 6. Excellent location! Steps from the beach. (There is even a beach toy take/return library at the beach entrance closest to the motel.) Super close and walkable to the downtown area and the historic train depot. Easy drives north/south for day outings either direction along the coast and a day trip into the Tillamook forest. Things that some might dislike but we didn't mind: 1. The bed was SQUEAKY. It was just me and my 6 year old so we didn't care but a couple on a romantic getaway might have had a laughable experience with a squeaky bed. 2. Linens are clean but not high quality, furniture is IKEA type and dishes were clean but mis-matched- for me, traveling with a kid, this was all a plus. I didn't worry we were going to hurt anything. For picky people- well, it might not be upscale enough for you. Just know that going in. 3. Walls are thin. We had good neighbors and tried to be good neighbors so it was not an issue for us. I had read this in other reviews so I specifically booked 212 because it's an end unit with neighbors only on one side. I was worried my stomping kid or our 5am alarm would bother the neighbors more than anyone bothered us. 4. Parking is limited. Arriving late our first night we parked on the street because the small lot was full. It was still close and I didn't mind much. Every night after that we were home around 8pm and had a spot in the lot. I would definitely stay here again in #212.
