The house itself is private and independent, but it is also part of a larger family compound with a common road (and the homeowner living next door). Hike the Hundred Acre Wood Trail just down the street, head out to Deer Isle for a quiet day of exploring (eight miles south), and take unforgettable excursions to Acadia National Park (37 miles).

The cottage is a showcase of its surroundings, from the path that leads through the trees to the ocean shore to the glass doors and windows that frame the view at every turn. After a day spent hiking, kayaking, sailing, or driving the Midcoast, come home to light the gas grill, share stories on the back deck, and dine outside in the fresh ocean air.
