Stunning ocean view home with private hot tub - walk to Portuguese Beach

Designed by noted Sea Ranch architect and Bodega Bay resident J. Carson Bowler, this architectural gem full of open spaces and walls of glass offers beautiful views of the coastal meadow, the open ocean, and spectacular nightly sunsets. This is a place for days spent collecting seashells, reading by the fire, and unwinding in the hot tub beneath star-filled skies.

This two-bedroom, twp-bath split-level home sits a few blocks inland from Portuguese Beach, a local favorite for its golden sand, rocky headlands, and fishing from the surf and rocks. It's a wonderful setting for beach-hopping up and down the Sonoma Coast and taking scenic drives on Highway 1. You'll be less than five miles north of Bodega Bay's working harbor, shops, and seafood restaurants, and seven miles south of Jenner at the mouth of the Russian River.

The house was thoughtfully outfitted for days spent in the sand, with beach chairs, towels, an outdoor shower, and a washer/dryer all on hand for your use. Returning home each afternoon, you'll be greeted by gorgeous outdoor spaces: a balcony off the living room, a patio with rocking chairs at the edge of the meadow, and a sheltered deck with a fire table - most with sweeping views that reach the ocean.

The light-filled, open-concept top level brings together a sleek kitchen (with stainless steel appliances), dining area, and living room. Linger here to enjoy the views and play board games by the fireplace, or head down to the den to find a smart TV, a DVD player, and a decorative fireplace. Each spacious, serene bedroom has its own en suite bathroom; and a dedicated home office (with an Apple monitor and a USB-C jack), complimentary WiFi, and central air-conditioning are provided as well. There's even a portable Bose Bluetooth speaker if you want to listen to music as you discover favorite spaces in different rooms.

The all-electric house was just renovated with modern tech and energy efficiency in mind, hewing to the Sea Ranch aesthetic of good design, economy of space, and harmony with the natural environment. The hardwired, 240-volt, 48-amp Clipper Creek J Plug EV charger in the garage charges up to 46 miles of range per hour; and solar panels on the roof charge the battery that powers essential house functions in the event of a power outage. All appliances were switched from gas to electric (including the oven and induction stovetop), while heat pump technology drives the water heater and forced-air AC/heater. The propane tank was kept to power the living room fireplace, allowing environmentally unfriendly wood-burning units to be removed or decommissioned. So, starting a cozy fire requires only the push of a button. The garage has room for one sedan (no taller vehicles!), and there is more than enough room for any car in the driveway.
