Cabin was great and clean. Well stocked. Quite and a nice little dock area. Enjoyed my stay. Just need to install a fire pit!

The deck and lake access were wonderful. Cabin was fine but loft stairs were steep and narrow. Wish there was a fire pit but otherwise a pleasant stay

It’s an old, rustic, reasonably priced cabin on the lake. If you like that sort of thing, you’ll enjoy it. We loved it and enjoyed our stay. The only bad thing about it is the stairs—they are a death trap and it’s only a matter of time until someone gets seriously hurt on them. They need to be rebuilt. And the water, even when using the water filter, tastes terrible, so be sure to bring your own bottled water. Otherwise we had a great time!
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Karen. We are so glad you enjoyed this cabin overall. We appreciate your feedback regarding the stairs as we are always looking for ways to improve our guest's experience. We hope to have the opportunity to impress you in the future.

Loved this cabin! Brought me back to my childhood and memories of my grandparent's cabin....Wonderful dock and deck, original charming livingroom, dining and kitchen, great upstairs sleeping areas for the kids, clean bathrooms! Very relaxing!

Although there are steps down to the lake, the private dock and lake access are excellent. Our golden retriever loved the lake access as did we. However, the cabin is way overpriced, outdated, and was not clean by most standards. It needs updating for the amount of money they charge. Bring your own water because a sign in the house says the water comes straight from the lake. Bring your own firewood if you want to use the wood stove because wood there is not split. Based on the cabin description and pictures we did not expect a five star stay but this did not even meet our lower expectations.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Donald. We are sorry to hear the comfortability of the home did not meet your expectations and we apologize housekeeping was lacking for your stay. We attempt to be as transparent with our listings as possible and provide accurate and current photos, amenities lists and descriptions so guests can make an informed choice about what they are paying for and make the right decision for their needs. We confirm there is a filter for water on the kitchen faucet and we will make sure there is split wood and an axe available for our guests. We truly hope you'll consider us for your next getaway.

The view is incredible, we loved the big deck and huge dock. The home was well kept and very cozy. In a time of Covid, this felt like a real vacation and the stress just melted away.

Great location, private dock. well stocked supplies, washer/dryer.
Appreciated being able to have dogs. Beds were comfortable.
View off the back deck was beautiful but would have appreciated it being swept prior to our arrival. It even had a full bag of dog poo in the corner of the deck. The grill was nice but we ran out of propane and the second tank was empty.
Manager response:
Hi David, thank you for staying with us. We are so sorry for the details that were amiss during your visit. We will ensure that all areas of concern are addressed appropriately. We hope you'll allow us another opportunity to host you.

Great location on the lake. The cabin is rustic as advertised but in a good way. Just wish the new megamansion two lots away wasn’t under construction all day all week long. That hurt the tranquility a bit.

Everything you need for a cozy stay. The kids loved staying upstairs. Beautiful location.

The East side of Payette Lake is cozy and less congested with spectacular views! Morning to night the cabin and deck stay cool with shade from trees; yet, the excellent private soft sanded beach, long barefoot friendly dock, and crystal clear lake are inviting and sunny. Beth’s Cabin has vintage charm, is clean, comfortable, well-appointed, on a large hillside lot. The location makes it an outdoor lover’s base camp paradise to explore all the beautiful wilderness nooks and crannies only the East side has to offer. McCall is at a 5,000’ mountainous elevation with various trees and plants. Therefore, breathing may be slightly compromised so please bring appropriate medications if you are sensitive. From the driveway to the road, turn left and walk about 1/4 mile until you reach a small gravel parking area on the right side. There is a nice hillside trail to hike and air dogs. The resident chipmunks and bluebirds will provide hours of entertainment.

It’s an old cabin…we expected some wear and tear…the floors are old and carpet desperately needs to be replaced. But the house condition went was passed acceptable: pet hair everywhere, especially in the couches, corners of the rooms, and drapes. We opened one of the couch pull out beds and found soiled bikini bottoms and a pilled and dirty mattress pad. There were also dangerous wires sticking out of the bed/couch frame – unsafe and unusable. Some of the dishes had dried food in them…as if put away unwashed.

But the real clincher was the vermin….the kids heard “skittering noises” in the attic. One saw “something furry” in the ceiling cracks. My husband called the Vacasa people and they sent out a rep with a sound machine intending to drive the squirrels (is what HE said they were) out of the attic. The first night with the noise machine seemed to be okay – the machine literally covered up the noise of the rodents. But by the next evening there were mice all over the house. One ran down on my arm as I was reading in bed. I screamed so loud I scared the kids. Then the main room was literally a rat race. The kids squatted on the dining room chairs and watched as several mice ran across the room, up the chimney, into corners of the room. My husband tried to brush a few out the door. Nobody got any sleep. The next morning we left really early. I will not go back.

The mattress cover on the pull out was disgusting. One black couch could survive with some deep cleaning. The fabric couch is simply torn, dirty and dangerous with wires sticking out. the dish drainer was cracked and covered with grime. The main coffee maker needs to be replaced (broken light and auto start)….the list goes on. Some of these things could be fixed with a quick trip to the linens store: it wouldn’t cost ½ a nights rent to replace these items.

Way low on the list but even so: it’s stated that there is a wood burning fireplace, but when we arrived there was a sign on it stating Do Not Use.

The LOCATION was great as we were visiting family in the same cove. The DOCK is new and beautiful. Luckily the weather was perfect and we spent very little time indoors and gave up on cooking.

But it’s truly unfair to charge these prices and not invest some money in replacing broken items and making sure the place is clean. And it’s UNEXCEPTABLE to rent this property until the mice issue is resolved.

Vacasa has offered to refund the cleaning fee. But we feel like the last night of our stay, when the mice were driven down into the living area and we were unable to sleep the night before a 12 hour drive home, should also have been refunded.

Beth and your family – you have a hugely valuable piece of land and great dock. But you should be embarrassed to rent this cabin without investing in replacing some of the worst items, and getting an exterminator and decent cleaner.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us! We are sorry to see you encountered some issues with your stay. The mice are gone, and we are disposing of the sofa bed mattress cover since we do not advertise the sofa bed as usable sleeping space. The wood burning stove pipe has been repaired so our guests can enjoy that amenity. We would love another chance to impress you!

Great location, clean and comfortable. This cabin has character and charm. It was wonderful to have a dock for our boat. We enjoyed sunset cruises and long days basking in the sun and playing with the dogs on the shore. We will be back again!

This is a great lakeside cabin with your own private dock. This is the second year we have stayed here. We love that it's not to far from town, close to great hiking, and dog friendly. Everyone enjoyed swimming and kayaking on the beautiful lake. McCall is a family friendly and dog friendly great town and will definitely be back.

This is such a great location and the price are dock is awesome. The cabin was comfortable and clean and gave off a happy family cabin vibe. The board games left there were a great bonus and we played well into the night after swimming and floating in the lake. The water was the perfect temp and so clean! There isn't a weed to be found or garbage anywhere.
There is plenty of spices and more than plenty of things to use in the kitchen. The beds were comfy, and cabin was clean. I appreciated how dog friendly it was for our doggo, with bowls and even an extra leash. Cute place, with retro charm. reminds me of being at grandmas for the night. Dont have a complaint and would definitely stay here again. It would be awesome if there was a fire pit or ring, but understand the fire risks in the wilderness.
This is not a complaint, but a heads up: the stairs leading upstairs are narrow and steep, as it is a cabin, so if you are tall, or clumsy like myself, be careful. Lol.
Great stay, I wish I could have stayed lo ger.
