It was a Beautiful little cabin lots of space and beautiful kitchen that was pretty well stocked. The heating was hard to figure out but once we got it it was nice (minus the few rooms that had no heat and were freezing cold.). The biggest complaint was the 7 light bulbs that were out in the house and made it hard to see when cooking in the kitchen and taking a shower in the upstairs bathroom. when the sun was out the kitchen wasn't too bad but with no windows in the upstairs bathroom it was next to impossible to use that for anything besides the toilet. The pellet stove was a nice touch but the pellets were not stocked at all and we had to go and look in all the rooms to find some and eventually found some out in the shed out back. Every thing else about this cabin was amazing and with some better maintenance and stocking of the place I would give it 5 stars for sure! We will probably book again in the summer and hope they have fixed the small issues we had.
Manager response:
Hello Cathy! Your opinion is critical to us, and we appreciate you for sharing. We are sorry for the light bulbs and inconvenience caused when residing in that room. We will ensure our local team is aware to make updates. We hope to host you once more!

I just had three childhood friends fly down from Alaska and we stayed at this cabin for four days. It was a golf trip and this place truly over-delivered. It was clean, comfortable, and warm feeling.

The owners were in touch to make sure everything was perfect. If you are looking for a great place to relax and enjoy, put this on your list!

Thanks for having us.

We had a great time at the cabin. Two families fit perfectly, great kitchen and a great table for playing games. The restored cabin was beautiful. We went on several hikes in the area. The internet worked fine for us. All around a great place to stay.

The house was well updated. For a 100+ year old house this is impressive. The kitchen has a nice gas stove and plenty of counter space. The bedrooms were comfortable and had nice thick, comfy comforters for cool nights. The house has a ton of character and since it's a true log house the walls are thick and the window sills deep. The big trees all around the site are enchanting. There's a nice patio in the back of the house and a nice big gas grill. Cable TV is available for those inclined to veg out that way. We had plenty of room for our family and enjoyed our time there.
Many people mentioned in their reviews that the driveway was hard to find but the firestation across the road and the pull off for river access just past the driveway are good landmarks.

This cabin is off the beaten path, well suited for a large family or two smaller families vacationing together.

We had two families and this cabins lay out worked great. It has a bathroom and bedroom upstairs and a bathroom and bedroom downstairs. The backyard was a great place to play and relax. The road in front is a little loud at times but is quiet at night.

My family and I stayed here to attend a wedding at Loloma Lodge. What a beautiful place! It was spacious, clean, serene. The beds were especially comfy which made our stay even better. My only feedback is that the address was not well marked from the road making it difficult to find. Once you figure it out it you will not forget the location. Otherwise I highly recommend Renee’s Log House!
Manager response:
Laura, thank you for staying with us. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your visit. We appreciate your feedback about the address and hope to host you again soon.

Our group of 9 was very comfortable in Renee's cabin over Memorial Day weekend. It's in a great location close to lots of hiking and lakes. The cabin was clean and well stocked with towels and linens. The property is nice and quiet and the owners deck by the river offers a beautiful view!
Mark B. May 2021
Loved the set up. Thanks for access to your deck on the river. We really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here with a group of friends so we could explore Clear Lake (about 20 mins away) and Cougar Hot Springs (about 30 mins away). Loved how much space everyone has, with four separate bedrooms and an extra bed in the upstairs loft. This is an old farmhouse-style home and is tastefully decorated and was impeccably clean. My favorite bedroom is the one downstairs, right off the kitchen dining room. It has the most sun and feels open.

I also like that the upstairs bathroom had a heater for those chilly nights. The house was hard to find at first, even though it is located right off the main road. There's no visible landmark that tells you which driveway to enter (there are several other driveways leading to hikes or other homes), so I would suggest arriving in the daytime to lessen your chances of missing it completely!

As others have mentioned, spotty to no Wifi or cell service. I was able to text people, but not get online or send out any photos. So come prepared for that. My friends and I wanted to watch a movie at the end of the day, however there wasn't any simple instructions how to use the TV for that or to tell us what channel subscriptions were available (they just left behind the official user manuals). Also there was a VHS or DVD player (can't remember which), but no tapes or DVDs to choose from.

Other than that - we enjoyed our stay and know others will too!

Manager response:
We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the home and location, Junvi. We do apologize that the WiFi was spotty during your stay. In your check-in email you received there are step by step directions to get to the home if your GPS was not bringing you directly to the property. The listing description does mention that due to the location of the property the WiFi is spotty. We do not offer any sort of subscriptions such as Netflix in the home, and it is not listed in amenities. However, we do have instruction for using the TV as well as a list of channels. We apologize you did not locate that in the home. We do not have any movies in the home but the Blue Sky Market that is close to the home has a selection of rental movies to choose from. We appreciate your feedback and we hope to host you again soon.

We stayed over Halloween weekend in this cute cabin. It had plenty of space for our large party.
Sandra J. Aug 2020
This great little cabin is perfectly located to most everything in the area along the McKenzie River. The log cabin is old but has been remodeled and very comfy.
Kathryn R. Jul 2020
Great spot to disconnect and less than 45 mins away from a ton of hikes. Kitchen is well equipped and house is super clean. As the other reviews called out, there is no cell service and most of us couldn't connect the WiFi, so make sure you have directions/codes saved before you get to the area!
Brieana E. May 2020
The property was lovely the home was very cozy and well put togather we never wanted to leave!
Kristie W. Mar 2020
We had a wonderful time at your cabin! It was beautiful, homey, peaceful! 5 miles from Belknap Jot Springs! Thank you for everything!
Kathryn L. Jan 2020
Just enough room for our group of 6 adults and 3 kids (living room could have had a few more seating options). The bedrooms were great and the dining table was huge
Jim A. Aug 2019
We loved the place. It worked out great for the 8 of us. The only drawback was the lack of cell phone and WiFi almost all the time. Great overlook of the river and close to the river hiking trails. We did an afternoon of rafting, and the pickup location was only about a quarter of a mile away from the cabin.
Melissa B. Aug 2019
Access to lovely deck by the river was great, that space felt amazingly peaceful and soothing.
Lisa S. Aug 2019
For anyone interested in a cabin in the woods near the McKenzie river, Renee's log cabin is a lovely place to stay with a group. The cabin is authentic old-time, but the kitchen is tastefully updated with all modern conveniences. The back patio is a perfect hang-out space. The McKenzie bridge store is a pleasant 0.5 mile walk down the highway. One thing worth noting: access to the river (via the nearby Jennie Harris picnic area) is limited, so, if you want a little open area to gaze at the river, fish, or dangle your toes in the water, you'll need to go somewhere else.

Peaceful, out of the way... can’t wait to get back. It’s a 100 year old cabin that has been updated perfectly!

Great Home away From Home. The Cabin was very well equipped. The Vacasa Team and Owner was GREAT to work with.
Angela M. Oct 2018
House is big and clean, the kitchen and seating area are very nice. This is my second time staying in the home and I highly suggest it.
David L. Oct 2018
Great location, close to all of our fishing spots. Great amenities (except the WiFi). Comfortable and quiet, thanks!
Darren S. Jul 2018
This is a nice place to stay if visiting McKenzie River valley destinations. The house is clean and pretty spacious. Big dining table for a crowd. Kitchen stocked with most tools/appliances you need - coffee maker! It is pretty quiet here even though house is only 50 yds off main valley road.

Sometimes it is hard to decipher bed arrangements in listing. Here it is: 2 ‘master’ rooms on main floor, one with a king, the other a queen. Upstairs are two more rooms, one with a queen and the other with a pair of twin beds. Finally, there is a single bed plopped down in the open area on the landing at top of stairs. There is also a couch in the great room on main. A pair of clean and functional restrooms, one on each floor, round out the arrangements. Overall the house lives plenty big and comfy. Not fancy, but clean and home-like.

I would give the log cabin 5 stars except for this: the Wifi service is TERRIBLE and with no cell service here, you are really cut off from outside world. If you don’t need these things, great! If you are trying to coordinate arrivals/logistics with multiple people, or attempting to download bike trail info, this is pretty tough to work with. Wifi worked sporadically after midnite and before 7AM. There is also a restaurant 3 miles down river that has Wifi.
Manager response:
We apologize the WiFi situation made things difficult for this guest. We have tried to better the service, but this is as good as it currently gets in this location. Thank you!
Greg G. Apr 2018
Renee's Log House is a nice getaway and an easy launching point for fishing along the McKenzie River and hikes in the Sisters. The cabin itself is rustic but with a modern and well-appointed kitchen, updated baths, comfortable beds and ample (and sometimes needed) extra blankets.

There's not much that you will walk to - for groceries or hiking - but limited options are close by. The more attractive options - including the McKenzie River trail - will require a slight drive or bike ride along the highway. River access is limited.

That said, the cabin itself would comfortably sleep 6 without kids, 9-11 with. The furnishings and appliances are well beyond expected. The location is choice.

Know that the WiFi is limited. If you require high WiFi speeds or reliable connectivity, you'll be disappointed. Of course, if you're trying to get your kiddos to put aside their devices, this could be a plus.

The house is nestled in the trees with easy river access. The decor is beautiful with original floors, a modern kitchen, and AMAZINGLY comfortable beds. A group of us stayed comfortably in the house for the weekend and we all sat comfortably around the kitchen table for meals and games. A perfect weekend!
Tanja M. Aug 2017
Wonderful weekend! The house was perfect for our family gathering. The kitchen had everything we needed for meal prep. The patio and front porch were great for relaxing. Lots of hiking nearby, river is easily accessible The house is charming and comfortable with plenty of space for 9 people.
Sarah E. Jul 2017
This huge cabin has lots of character! Kitchen is huge and perfect for large family gatherings. The outdoor area is also great and accommodates large groups. Nice patio with new furniture and a nice size lawn space for lawn games.
