Comfortable, great location, private and quiet, charm and character

Spent the first week of August here, enjoyed the stay:
Pros-private down long drive with lots of trees, wide plank hardwood floors, good location 15 min from town, clean, lots of kitchen/towel/paper product supplies
Cons-while you have your own beach 100 steps from the house there is a lot of seaweed/debris/bugs which might be the norm in Maine and you also can’t really see the water/beach from the house, there are 3 bedrooms but not 3 beds

What a wonderful spot! Our family of 4,11yr old & 13 year old boys, enjoyed this home as out base for hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking & swimming adventures. We loved coming home to the quiet cove & beach after a day of hiking. Our sons dragged the ride on kayak down to the beach & spent hours just exploring the cove. The house has every comfort you need & kitchen is well appointed for simple meals, too. We absolutely loved every moment here & are so sad to leave! Extra plus, the neighbor was so kind to tell us about the brown caterpillars & the rashes it can cause & how to treat. So, friendly and kind to our kids. Really a lovely lovely place.

We spent four nights at Blaney's Bight. The good: Everything was clean and functional except for the kitchen overhead light. It was nice to stay outside the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor next to the water out back. Highway 3 out front was barely noticeable through the forest out front...it might be louder in winter. The place was spacious and fully kitted out in the kitchen. There were ample soaps and towels. The gas grill worked fine. Cable and internet worked fine. During the day while we were away they mowed the lawn. The not as good: The bed in the first floor bedroom was a bit hard for our tastes. The first night there was a scratching noise outside the bedroom window - turns out it was a bush in the wind which I trimmed back. As mentioned, the overhead kitchen light didn't work. These faults are really nit-picking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The view of the sunrise over the water was amazing.

great place to relax, cozy house with everything that you may need for the memorable break.

Easy access to beach, rented kayaks locally and was able to explore the surrounding shorelines. Nice selection of appliances and utensils. Appreciate the cleaning packages left for us to use. Nice secluded location within short driving distance of Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

Great place we loved staying here. Really lovely location right on the water. Comfortable home with everything we needed for our vacation. And a great location near Acadia and Bar Harbor. We are telling all our friends they need to stay at Blaney's.

This house was perfect for my family. It was only a 15 min drive to Bar Harbor but was also right on the coast. The house was clean and comfortable. A great place to relax after a long day hiking at Acadia National park which was just a short drive away.

Everything about this house was perfect for our visit with grandparents and kids in tow. There was enough space for everyone to relax, and the kitchen was well stocked so we could prepare meals easily. The kids loved the apples trees in the yard and we visited the small beach daily. We can’t wait to stay again!

We loved this house--clean, uncluttered, and comfortable in every detail. The location was perfect, a short drive away from either side of Acadia as well as Bar Harbor itself. And we enjoyed the woods and the bay right off the back yard. So serene!

The house was clean and in a great location. It’s near restaurants along route 3 and a short drive from the north entrance to Acadia, and short drive to bar harbor. There’s a cute small beach that is lovely. Would highly recommend.

We stayed here for a week with another couple and had plenty of space and privacy. The location is great since you are away from the crowds of Bar Harbor with only a short drive to get there. Nice selection of eateries near by if you don't want to cook. Very peaceful but hard to find the driveway. We would stay here again.

Little hard to find the entrance but if you look carefully there is 699 plate indicate the alley. Wonderful place to stay and queit ocean view!

Very convenient to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The home was roomy, comfortable, and clean. The only thing I would recommend is some new pots and pans. The walk down to the water was a plus. Thank you for sharing your lovely home.

This was a great place to stay. Very roomy and comfortable! Quiet and secluded but so close to Bar Harbor. We wished we could have stayed longer!

This house sits on a beautiful property on the water. The house had everything we needed and was spotless. Thank you for comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms and a cozy screened in porch. Memories made here!

It is located down a long, tree covered drive.I loved this! A little hard to spot the drive from the road, however (if we had arrived after dark! - it would have been a challenge) Though there is a reflector address marker and an orange ribbon tied to a tree to help spot it.
The cottage was welcoming and clean. The rooms were comfortable. Loved the kitchen! (well-stocked). The the home has a woodsy and antique decor. Living room has comfortable couches (though we temporarily moved the furniture to better use the room and be able to see the TV screen and visit with each other making it more cozy) We did not stay long enough with the right weather to enjoy the screened porch but would have loved to sit out there! LOVED how the cottage has a short walk to the water and it's own private stairs to the the shore and a private cove. Lovely!! Watched a sunset and a sunrise from the shore. Would stay here again. (I would imagine in the summer it would be a wonderful addition to the house to have ceiling fans in the rooms since I don't think it is air-conditioned) But we visited in October so it was cozy. Thank you for making this house available.

This home is in a great location, a few short miles out of Bar Harbor & Acadia National Park; offers lots of privacy and roominess. Great place for families or couples traveling together.
Bathrooms and kitchen are not new and could use a few updates, but for the money we felt that this was a great value!

We had 5 people and it was great for us. Plenty of room to enjoy ourselves without being on top of each other. Enjoyed the screen porch in the morning with coffee. Would stay here again for sure

Location was very convenient for touring Bar Harbor and Acadia. A very peaceful place to relax.

Great location. Property was filthy and musty smelling when we arrived. Hadn't been cleaned prior to our stay - I had to wash bathroom rugs, sweep floor and wipe out microwave and fridge (amongst other things) prior to settling in. Decor was depressing, and very dated, and there were poor excuses for fans in the bedrooms, one without a safety cage on the front. Every rug needed a vacuum/shake out. The pillows on the porch were stained and gross.
We are disappointed to see this guest felt the home was so unclean. The home was inspected prior to check-in, we resent the original cleaners out during this guest's stay, and the property manager followed-up with a personal visit to do further cleaning for this guest as well at their request. The fan without a cage front has been removed.

The screened in porch was nice place to relax.

Loved the private and stunning waterfront, listing advertised access with no pics, so I didn’t expect it to be as lovely as it was. Also liked the quiet yet convenient location. House was very spacious and comfortable and upstairs got a nice ocean breeze. No lobster pot in kitchen. Pretty clean, though not spotless. I’d definitely stay again.
