We enjoyed our stay in this cute quaint little house very much. It was clean cozy and welcoming. It was situated very well for us near everything we wanted to do. We would definitely recommend this place

House is nice, bedrooms are large, the only bathroom is upstairs and the living room area is very small.
Ahmed E. Mar 2022
The home has a very homey feel and was very clean and decorated well. living room space is rather small but works for people just needing a space to stay while passing through. The 3rd bedroom has a pull-out single bed.
There was a somewhat dnk smell of possibly cigarette smoke, and maybe mold. The house is older so the old house smell is inevitable.. However the smoke smell should be checked into. The space aggravated my child's asthma
Manager response:
Hi, Ahmed! We're glad to see the home was clean for you, though it's disappointing to read your child didn't have a more positive experience. The home was inspected for mold and bad odors. Due to the home being pet friendly, there is a slight pet smell despite our best efforts to get everything thoroughly cleaned of pet hair after each stay. We're happy to help you find a pet-free home for future visits to ensure the best comfort for your family. Thank you!

We loved our stay here! Clean, great mattresses, and when we had an issue they did their best to fix it right away.

Great location next to the Annacortes historic district. This three bedroom and 1 bath home is an excellent base for daily excursions. The bedrooms are good size, the kitchen good and the one bathroom is good. I would have given it a five star rating but the living area is really only big enough for three adults - max.
Manager response:
Frances, we are happy to hear that you enjoyed our homes' phenomenal location and found our space to be well suited for your vacation needs. We apologize if the living room space was not to your partys' liking and appreciate your feedback as a means to improve. We hope to host you for another great stay soon!

Charming, clean and had everything we needed. Great place!

we were close to Anacortes friends.

This home is beautiful and appears as it is described in the listing. Kitchen was nice as was the living area. Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Be advised that because it is an older home, the stairs to the upstairs have a very steep pitch to them. Thankfully, the homeowner had a baby gate that we could put across the bottom to keep our 9 year old Pittie from attempting the stairs alone.

The house's location is amazing. Walking distance from the marina, many restaurants, shops and the local Safeway.

We went with friends to the tulip festival and stayed in this cozy, well-appointed home in the center of town within walking distance to shops and restaurants. We cooked dinner and had all the dishes we needed. We brought our dog and she had her own little fenced-off portion of the yard that was perfect for her. This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway!

Mariners Rest was a good place to stay in Anacortes, Washington. The location was walkable to restaurants , grocery stores, shops, and entertainment. The house was nicely appointed. It was an old house renovation and nicely modernized.

We stayed for 8 nights due to renovation in our own house. When I looked for rentals, this one was listed at $115/night. A few days later when I booked it, it was $155/night. After all the fees were added in (not visible until AFTER booking), the price became $237/night. By that time, we couldn’t cancel as they don’t allow canceling .....hence, we paid at least $100 more per night than the original price listed. Beware of bait and switch when renting from vrbo and Vacasa. I’m guessing that the owner of the property didn’t get the profit here, but the two agencies certainly did.
Manager response:
Hi, Patricia! Thank you for your feedback and we are disappointed that you were not completely happy with your experience renting from us. We aim to make the price of our rentals as completely transparent as possible and provide a breakdown of each cost you pay towards the rental prior to booking, including all fees and taxes. We are always happy to assist you with finding a rental that is within your budget- we have many homes across the United States in a wide range of costs and styles! We are happy to hear that you otherwise enjoyed Mariner's Rest and and your time in Anacortes. Thank you again for taking the time to leave this review. We hope to have the chance to impress you on a future stay!

Enjoyed staying in this petite, well-appointed home. 4 adults stayed here and it worked perfectly for getting around Anacortes by foot and relaxing in comfort.

This is a nice, clean, refurbished house in a great location. Beds are comfortable. Bathroom is nicely done. Cozy and comfortable living area was just fine for the three of us. The house is less than two blocks from main street. Super easy to walk to get take-out or stroll around town. Short walk to Cap Sante Park along the water.

Cute, clean, little retreat close to all the shops but far enough away to have peace and quiet.

Walking distance to the historic downtown area and docks. Dog enjoyed it too!

We had a lovely stay in Anacortes over a holiday weekend. The house is very well located to the farmer’s market, ice cream shop and downtown businesses. We took advantage of all for pickup/takeout and meals at the home. The listing is misleading and does not appear at the time of this review to be updated. This is a duplex (and like others said thin walls, but overall not a huge issue). It is a shared yard - not specified. I tried to contact VRBO with no response on the yard scenario in advance because I was concerned about distancing. Apparently you should only communicate via the Vacasa app (even though I booked here). The pictures also show a swing, lots of green space and trees in the backyard. These are gone, and a third home is being built on the property! There was still a small spot for the picnic table and two chairs. But the small yard would soon be shared by three houses. We were not notified in advance that we’d be coming in to a construction zone (a safety issue with small children). I immediately contacted Vacasa and later heard from the local Vacasa rep. I also expressed concerns of a broken recliner and missing baby gate (advertised in listing). The local manager was very nice and did issue a small refund. Overall, the house was nice and clean, rooms big, other amenities in place. But we were very disappointed in the now lack of yard and advance communication because the outdoor space was part of the draw for our two small children and dog.
Manager response:
Flavia, Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! We attempt to be as transparent with our listings as possible and provide accurate and current photos, amenities lists, and descriptions so guests can make an informed choice about what they are paying for and make the right decision for their needs! We have a variety of homes in differing price points and we truly hope you'll consider us for your next getaway.

The house was clean and well-organized, and situated in a lovely part of historic Anacortes.

Shops, food, coffee & bakery ALL within walking distance... great ice cream next door & nice Farmer's Market on Saturday.

The 110v car charger plug was very convenient for use with our Tesla. Also enjoyed the proximity to great restaurants and parks.
Jacquelyn M. Jul 2019
We had a lovely stay at this home and spent a lot of time just hanging out in the backyard. We were walkable to everything in downtown Anacortes. Thanks for a great vacation spot!

We had a great time at this house. This was a girlfriends getaway and we had a great time at this location. Super walk-able to everything fun.

A couple of notes we thought we'd share.
1) there is only one bathroom/Toilet. With 6 women in the house it was a bit problematic, expecially since the shower door is completely glass, you couldn't even run in to grab your toothbrush etc. Not a huge deal but if you're on a time crunch be sure to account for one bathroom.

2) the fold out bed upstairs was not self-explanatory. Fortunately i had a queen size air mattress that fit just fine in the room but either instructions should be left or don't plan on 6 people sleeping.

3) It did get pretty warm upstairs being in the middle of july. the ceiling fans and open windows helped but if you need it cooler bring a bigger fan.

4) most rooms only had lamps versus overhead lighting. Again not a big deal but go for the lamps to get light instead of looking for a lightswitch.

This house was cute and a perfect location, the kitchen was absolutely wonderfully labeled and the backyard was very enjoyable. We would all certainly stay again.

Great place to stay, bed was comfortable. As long as you can do stairs this place is great.
Patty P. Apr 2019
I loved the decor and all the little extras about the area and ponchos for the rain.
Neil J. Mar 2019
The location was perfect, and the beds were super comfy. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they had a pack-n-play.
Parents you may want a stair gate if your little ones are not used to stairs. We comfortably slept 2 adults and 3 kids.

We loved this place! It was cozy and comfortable with a lot of amazing features that made our stay so nice! We were very lucky that during our entire four night stay, the unit on the other side was not rented. My husband and I both agreed that if another family was staying there, it would have been difficult. It is essentially a large house that is separated by a locked door creating two sides. We prefer our privacy and would also feel bad about walking upstairs which is directly above the other side. We are grateful that it worked out for us to be there alone, but it would make it challenging to return with the fear of the other side being rented. Also, the backyard is connected to both sides. We LOVED having a fenced in area for our labradoodle, but if there were other renters with a dog, it would be very awkward.
The kitchen is magnificent and little coffee area to sit is so fun. The mattresses are SO COMFORTABLE! Also, the third room is huge with a wonderful area for sleeping if you needed it. The blackboard from the old Anacortes High was awesome! My Mom graduated from that school in 61 so it was really special to show her that! Anyway, hope this is helpful. Thank you for providing a great place!

Great location in the middle of everything to do in Anacortes

We loved the cleanliness and how close it was to the art fair museum and farmers market. The beds were glorious!

This house was adorable! And the location is PERFECT! We were able to walk to the main st just a block and a half (small block), and the Farmer’s Market was at the end of the driveway on Sat! Excellent!
