The homes location in Dauphin is right on Mississippi sound. The grandkids loved the beach on the sound and especially across the street on the gulf. The area is quiet and family oriented. Not a lot to do except the beach but it works well for families with kids. The house se was very nice but had some stained carpet. Bring your own stuff since there are no extras like Bach chairs etc at the house.

Our family found surf and turf to be the perfect size for a family of 10. Great access to a nice clean Beach, not too many stairs, ample seating and very comfortable. The house was exactly as shown on the website no surprises. We will definitely visit again as we enjoyed.

The house was even larger than we expected! Everyone enjoyed spreading out, as well as coming together in the family room, at the dining table, and on the deck watching the beautiful sunset every evening. The kitchen was large enough for multiple chefs! We enjoyed exploring the island (the fort, the Estuarium) and all the birds!

We had a wonderful time staying at this property for a week. The outside of the house could use some love but the inside is wonderful! The location was perfect and exactly what we wanted. Would definitely consider staying at this house again.

Dauphin Island is the perfect getaway beach destination, especially for adults and families who don't need entertainment other than the beach itself. The island doesn't have any of the tourist traps offered up at Gulf Shores and Orange Beach, which is where we've previously vacationed. And no traffic, at least in the off-season.

Great location, being on the sound was nice for our young child, as the water is not as salty and calmer. Size and layout of house were great for our large group. I had to dust due to our allergies and the house having A LOT of dust on ceiling fans, surfaces, window sills. You have to bring a lot of stuff (or buy/rent). Most beach houses I have stayed at in the past have beach chairs, umbrellas, beach toys, and beach towels for guests, but this one did not. Might want to bring some of your own pillows and towels as the ones in the home are very old and low quality.
