Nice place to get away from hustle and bustle. Easy access to the park and the rest of Volcano Village.

The beds are comfortable. For the price you would think they could have the five gallon water jug already there. They have the cooler

The position, the environment, and the well-maintained property are perfect. We loved this place and it was difficult to leave this paradise.

Logement très bien équipé et très bien agencé. Nous y avons passé un séjour extrêmement agréable et nous y retournerons avec le plus grand plaisir.

Nice two bedroom house. Secluded and quiet. Really like the place. Close to the park entrance.

Overall it was a nice cottage.
However the address was not provided until after the cancellation date had passed. The location is one block off the main highway, so not the most peaceful location compared to further back in the subdivision.
Additionally for those interested in privacy, it was not disclosed that there was another home on the property, just fifteen feet away until the day of occupancy.

It is so close to the village so you could just walk (but please use common sense when crossing the highway) to the few shops and the amazing Thai food truck.

House has all the basics (like washer/dryer) you need and very good-sized rooms, including a nice outdoor sitting area.

Berkeley (the local property manager) was very prompt and helpful, offering to come by to drop things and troubleshoot the gas fireplace. You do have to call the national VACASA phone number to generate a request for him to get back to you.

What an incredibly peaceful retreat! It's conveniently located close to the national park, and it has everything necessary for a comfortable stay. Including washer/dryer, which after a week of traveling, was much appreciated :) Bonus - it's so quiet! We left feeling relaxed and refreshed.

Plenty of space, nice kitchen…

Spotless and very clean. Loaded with everything in the kitchen that you need. Beds were comfortable and there were no bugs 🙌🏽.
The 2 couches in the living room are futon couches. Not very comfy on my back but I managed. I tried to pull one futon open and a screw came out. I had no access to the furniture for the whole trip. It’s a good thing there was still another couch. It was only me so I only needed 1 couch. I left the screw nearby and let the office know about it.
I never seen anyone on or near the property during my whole stay (3 days). I did hear someone drive in and take the trash but that was about it. I felt a little uncomfortable not knowing who was coming in and out on the property. I wished he would’ve introduced himself. I had a very hard time getting ahold of someone in a timely manner for issues/questions so I did without.
TV was the hardest for me to figure out and I’m usually good with various controls. I gave up on that too. A service man called and offered to come over to check out the fireplace and tv issue but his time schedule did not match with mine so I managed to do without both for my whole trip. I’m hoping they would leave a book of instructions for the next guests.
Very quiet neighborhood and the rain forest had their own share of noises but it wasn’t disturbing. The street is close to the highway but trees and shrubs made it seem isolated and drowned out any noise.
My biggest thing was their metal chain link gate. Heavy and sturdy but a real pain trying to open the lock in the rain. Maybe some updating in the gate would be a nice thing to have. Something quick and easy in case it rains.

Very well outfitted, ever thing you need and more.. A very comfortable home, and close to all Volcano activities. A reasonable distance from Hilo as well.

I almost don't want to let out the secret. Clean, quiet, cozy and very close the entrance to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We will be back.

Easy to find, quiet location, close to volcano park, good places to eat very close. House is FABULOUS, clean, comfortable beds and furniture! We loved our stay and would come again!

Convenient to Volcano National Park. It was clean. We expected more of a "quiet retreat" The cottage is right off the street, very close to unit next door and only one block from the very busy Hwy 11. The name E Komo Mai means Welcome, Come in........We did not feel that from the encounter with the man we saw briefly upon arrival.
Manager response:
Hi Joanne, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We regret that our home did not meet your expectations. We hope to have another chance to impress you.
Greg C. Sep 2019
Clean, quaint house that served our needs perfectly.

Beautiful home and garden located in the rain forest! If you are looking for peace and serenity this is it! Lush green landscape with a private trail and meditation area will make you forget all of your worries. The home is decorated in an old style European theme and has everything that you need to make your stay comfortable. Cozy fireplace will keep you warm on those chilly nights. Located right across the street from Volcano Village and just minutes away from Hawaii Volcanos National Park and Winery. If you are looking to escape from it all, I would recommend staying here. Only a 45 minute drive to Hilo and the city life.
