Cabin is very nice and neighbors next door on the left side were very friendly. Directions and road to cabin is a little sketchy. Would like to go back someday.

Loved it!! We took our three kids, my mom and our chocolate lab!! Could ask for a better week. Cabin was great and beach area at river was perfect for the kids to play everyday!
Terry L.Jul 2021
The house was wonderful. The family launched rafts and tubes upstream and took out at the house. Relaxing and fun. 15 minutes to Cherokee and 25 to Brison City. One lane Mt road which might be challenging for some. Highly recommend!

We had a great Family vacation! Lovely house, great neighbors and so much fun in the river! Scary road to the house but after a couple times you get used to it! Socks the dog was definitely a bonus!

The river is great and perfect for wading at the house. kids absolutely loved it.

Loved the home's location on the water. Didn't like the one lane dirt road access with very steep drop if you encountered traffic.
Brandon W.Apr 2021
The adventurous drive leads to a cozy and well equipped cabin off the beaten path. Easy access to quaint Sylva and Dilsboro but remote enough for your own private section of river for fishing. The rush of the river drowns out the noise of the parkway on the slopes above. We loved our trip to introduce our young girls to mountain life.

Looking good, 3 bedrooms is good complete kitchen set new expierence on driving uphill on Mountain you don't need 4x4 if you go slow and is not raining
Clifton M.Feb 2021
The access to the water was fantastic. The house was very clean, spacious, and the front porch was perfect. Close enough to Dillsboro to get essentials, while still being up in the mountains.

Awesome little cabin, very warm and inviting. With a fire pit outside right on the beautiful Tuck river. GPS will not get you there though, long gravel road approach can leave you wondering if you’re on the right path. And there is no WiFi and very spotty internet coverage.

Location was great for my liking. Scenery was also good
William H.Nov 2020
Beautiful, well built cabin offers spacious accommodations as described. Single lane drive adds to the adventure of your stay at this cabin. One star deduction for noise from traffic on Great Smoky Mountain which is across from Tuckasegee River that flows in back of cabin.

The house was beautiful and very clean

The cabin is great and the river is fantastic!!! Well worth the adventurous road leading to the property. Once you leave Dillsboro and turn on to Tunnel Road, the pavement ends. The roads are dirt/loose gravel, steep, one lane without guard rails. Low clearance vehicles might have a challenge but my Prius made it with no problems even after several inches of rain the night before we checked out. It’s quite a drive to the grocery store so get what ya need before tackling the mountain road.
Wonderful! Great to hear. Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review and feedback. Sounds like you had a great adventure at the riverfront cabin. Good to know that your Prius had no problems accessing unit. We appreciate the feedback regarding the road leading to the cabin. Thank you again and please keep us in mind for future adventures!

This was a beautiful get-a-away! The cabin on the river was great. I only wish we stayed longer.

This place was awesome. Beautiful views, secluded, and peaceful. Road to the place is a little dangerous otherwise 5 stars. Needed some coffee. 24 shampoos but no coffee.

Very lovely cabin with excellent view of the river. Very clean & spacious. The road to the cabin was a challenge but we had no problems. Will book again soon.

we have been here a few times and we love the ability to just chill by the river. Great spot.

This house was so pretty and we had a great vacation! Very clean and has everything you need. Make sure that you want to be off the beaten path and make sure you take the suggestion of following the directions that are printed! It’s about a 10 minute drive after you leave the paved road all three of our vehicles made it fine. We only had one four wheel drive the rest were regular cars! I highly recommend the experience. There is a house really close but the neighbor is very nice and you don’t feel like you are on top of another house!

We really enjoyed our few nights in the Orr House! The house is clean and comfortable. The rocking chair lined porch is the perfect spot for a cup of coffee, cold beer or glass of wine. The small beach was the perfect spot to wade in the river. There is traffic noise from the Expressway; however, most of the day it was drowned out by the nearby rapids. The location close to Dillsboro/Sylva made it convenient for a run to the grocery store and access to rafting on the Nantahala and Tuckasegee.
The only reason to not give this hideaway 5 stars is the road to the house. It is not for the faint of heart and is best traversed by a truck or SUV. We took a wrong turn on our first trip in and got to test the “Trail Mode” of our new SUV.
Our crew would visit again!

Great place to spend time with family and friends. We enjoyed the stay and probably willing to stay again.
4 stars only because of two reasons:
1. The professional cleanning advertised was not as expected and we had to clean and disinfect some areas in the house prior to set up our stuff.
2. The noise from highway across the river was a liitle bit to loud sometimes.
Darla D.Jul 2020
The house was just as stated. The view on the river was outstanding. House was clean and well stocked. The only 2 reasons for four stars instead of five was of course the road going in was awful. I had read previous reviews but was worse than expected. Also , given the scope of this property, they really need new towels. The ones provided were disgraceful. I would have expected better at this home. If you want clean looking and fluffy towels you had better take your own!

The house was nice and clean. We all loved sitting on the back porch. Sitting there listening to the river was so very peaceful.

Seclusion! Great fishing area from small private beach. Loved watching rafters ang kayakers float down the river.

A lovely cabin nestled next to the river. Roomy for 6 adults and a pup! Perfect location to enjoy your family and friends. The huge dining table is perfect for game night and the rocking chair porch is heavenly. I suggest sleeping with the window open and letting the sounds of the river put you to sleep!

We loved being on the river! My husband and son fished and caught some great fish. The kitchen was well equipped and house was clean. It's a great house. The road leading to the house scared me to death. For 2 miles it is 1 car width. If you.meet a car someone is going to back up. Deep drop off on one side and a wall of rock on the other. That is the only reason I will not stay there again. The only other thing I would add is the white towels and wash rags were badly stained making the look dirty. They also had way too much bleach on then. Other than these two things, it was great! I wish the road would be widened.

Nice clean cabin
Great neighbors next door river was relaxing the only draw back was no WiFi in today’s world it’s a must no phone service there so could not use phones or WiFi on them
We are so happy that you enjoyed the cabin! WiFi is not a listed amenity that comes with this home, but we hope that you had a relaxing time disconnecting! We look forward to hosting you again!

House was nice and clean. We loved the “river chairs”. 😂
Loree O.Sep 2019
I would give this a 5 star review but there was some difficulty in getting to the house. Google Maps is not updated with this address, so it can't even be found (not just the house number, but the street itself). I had to look up the address on Zillow to see a satellite view of where the house sat, and then find the nearest recognized street to use that to put into Google Maps. At 12:30p of the day we checked in, we got an email with detailed directions. It would have been MUCH better to get that email a day or two before the reservation. We left at 7a the day of, so if I hadn't checked my email en route, I'm not sure we would have found it. We got a little lost even with the detailed directions. The other reason this doesn't get 5 stars is that the neighbor told us the day before we left that they were going to be doing road work the next day and we had to be gone by 8a or we wouldn't be able to leave until they were done at 5p. That was critical information to have! And we were just lucky we happened to run into the neighbor.
Those issues are more administrative. The actual stay was great! The house was lovely and clean, and the location next to the river was so peaceful. There is a highway across the river, so there isn't total peace. That didn't bother us at all, but if you are sensitive to that sort of thing, that is something to consider. There is a sandy area/beach along the river that you can use to enjoy the water.
Also, you must like (or at least tolerate) dogs! The neighbors had 2 friendly, sweet dogs that loved to visit. We had an internal argument of who was going to take which dog home with them. Jokes of course! But they really made the stay more enjoyable. There are 2 cats as well, and at lease one was friendly. So this is a great place for animal lovers!
Thank you for leaving feedback, Loree! We apologize for any confusion you experienced while driving to the home. We send all of our guests a check-in email, complete with driving directions one week prior to your arrival. In this email, we ask that you please follow our provided directions rather than gps, since gps systems are commonly unreliable in the mountains. In addition, we were unaware of any neighborhood construction beyond our control, and we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you during your stay. We're glad that overall you enjoyed this lovely riverfront home, with easy access to the peaceful river flowing by. We hope to have another chance to impress you in the future!

House was absolutely great. Slightly disappointed with the traffic noise and seeing the traffic from the nearby highway. Also, the road in was not conducive to travel by anything other than a higher profile vehicle.

I will make it quick...
This spot is absolutely perfect. Went with a couple and their 2 kids. We sleep 4 Adults and 4 Children with no problem, the house has a great beach right in front far enough from the current. I felt save letting the kids play by the river without to much supervision.
Once you go past the small community of houses you DO go up the LARGE HILL to get to the house. Make sure you ask about directions once off main road. My friend had been before so we were ok. Great place to take any age family members.
I will be going back one day,
Peace and Stay Psyched!!!

Once we figured out we were in the right direction and got to the cabin it was very nice right on the river as advertised. Would definitely go again and recommend for a vacation for a family.

We enjoyed our stay at the Orr House! Plenty of room and comfortable beds! But, the porch was the best!
tasha a.Jul 2019
The house was great and the view is amazing. The only draw back is the king size bed in the master loft is hard as bricks to sleep on. The beds downstairs are awesome, nice and fluffy. Everything was as described but just know the outside outlets don’t work. The neighbor right beside the house is super nice and friendly, however the guy who comes to take pictures of rafts coming down the river isn’t so much. He tried to yell at my kids about being in the water and climbing on rocks (that he doesn’t even own). Other than that little incident we had a wonderful time and would definitely book this house again.
Tasha, we are so happy you enjoyed your stay! Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback. We apologize for the outdoor outlets not working and will be sure to ask our local manager to address them right away. We look forward to hosting you again!

The cabin was great. It had everything we needed and plenty of space. It was beautiful with the planks of wood for flooring, the nice furnishings, and sturdy stairs to the loft. The back porch was fantastic with plenty of rocking chairs to enjoy the river and sights. The only negative is the drive to the house. The driving instructions are a bit vague and the road to the house is narrow and winding. But then again, we are from Florida where everything is flat! We would recommend this cabin to our friends and family. Great place to stay and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
