We had a great time relaxing at Wild Bird View. Breathtaking views and very peaceful surroundings.

We just got home and are already working on a return trip. Great location and a beautiful view! The area is amazing for “chasing waterfalls”, incredible craft breweries, blue ridge parkway and trout fishing.

My Wife and I's stay at Wild Bird View was 6 days and 5 nights.
This is our 7th Summer staying in vacation homes/cabins mostly in Arkansas with this being the first time in the Smoky Mountains.
The description and pictures of the home on the Vacasa site are spot on so there's no need to describe the home any further.
We have absolutely no complaints concerning the home or it's amenities.
One of our top priorities in a vacation home is privacy.
Even though there are other residences within the area this house is absolutely private and we give it 5+ stars for that aspect.
We did have an issue with the AC however our stay may have been the first time it's been used for any amount of time this season and once Vacasa was contacted a Service Tech arrived within 2 hours and the issue was resolved.
In our opinion this is a compliment to Vacasa as issues such as HVAC issues can't generally be predicted so response time in correcting an issue is what should be measured not the issue itself.
The house is located within 15 minutes of so of many restaurants.
We ordered takeout 3 nights and drove down to Sylva and picked it up. That worked out very well.
Recommendations is; El Porta mexican, Bojangles chicken, and Peking Gourmet chinese.
There's a lot of comments that mention the ~ 1/2 mile driveway to get up to the house and it is rather steep in some areas.
However it appears the driveway is graded regularly and areas where-as wash-outs could occur are concreted.
Your first day you will want to arrive during the daylight as even though the driveway is reasonably wide and well maintained, there are some areas of the driveway where-as if you venture off you will drop down into a deep ditch area.
You likely will not be able to see these drop-offs during the dark so to see them first during the daylight is advantageous.
This last ~100' of the driveway coming off the main driveway down to the house is very steep however it is asphalt so as long as you keep the brakes on it's really no issue but during snow or ice you would likely have to park at the top and walk down to the house.
Once down to the house there is minimum turn-around space however for the most part any large passenger vehicle should be able to make a 3 point turn around as there is an area to partly back into once you are at the house.
All and all access to the house is not that bad.
I only describe it in detail as other's have mentioned that it's "treacherous or scary" and IMO it's neither so don't let it scare you away from this rental.
If and when we venture back to the area Wild Bird View will certainly be a top contender for our accommodations.

I don’t have anything negative or bad to say about this home. The driveway - I have a 4Runner TRD off road. The drive is very steep my traction control kicked in a couple times and I had to stay on the breaks the entire way down, even in a lower gear. The drive could use a good scraping to get rid if the holes. You will not get up the hill from the house in the snow unless you clear the driveway off. I would not let the driveway scare you away though. The house is older and you can tell from the cabinets and fridge in the kitchen. Still no issues as everything worked fine. The master bed is one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept on (would love to know the brand mattress). The heat in the master bath is amazing, however turning the shower on can be tricky turning on. This is due to the way the shower is set up. The towels could use updating as their look a little worn. I’d like to see more sitting space in the tv room. Although I only had 3 people I feel as though more seating was necessary as the couch is smaller size. The locks on the master bedroom door to the outside are very hard to lock and should be replaced. There is a bird feeder that hangs from the overhand above the hot tub that bangs on the gutter when the wind blows (kept us awake a lot at night). It should be moved to a safer location. I really hope the hot tub is cleaned as there was a black rim around the water line (I cleaned and wiped away). Also I feel there should be instructions for the hot tub ( the ones in the book don’t have the controls listed the same). Overall hot tub was wonderful! Lastly, the carpet in the tv room could use replacing. As there appear the be several pee stains (or what appear to be pee stains) as well as the master bedroom. Overall I was very happy with our stay. I really enjoyed the close proximity of the front door to the drive way. Made unloading the car very easy. The trail down to the creek was maintained nicely and recommended taking the hike. The view was great from the sitting room as well as the deck. I would definitely stay again! Thank you VACASA for your hospitality.

The house is large and comfortable. Everything you need is provided. The kitchen has everything a chef or baker could need. The setting is extremely peaceful. Highly recommend a great vehicle to get up the road to the house.

First rate experience. Local staff are brilliant. Home was/is surprisingly good with 11 acres of land and creek to go hiking in.
Just don’t come up here when there is 10 inches of snow. Else you are skiing down

We loved our stay. The house has beautiful views, is quite comfortable and a pleasure to stay in. We hope to come back in the future.
Sam J.Dec 2020
Great view, hot tub, very secluded with great master bed. The driveway is intense so mentally prepare for it, and don’t show up in bad weather or at night. I’m not a rural/mountain person so probably easier if you are used to those types of drives. Also, need 4 wheel drive. But overall, the house was great and had everything we needed.
Jeremy F.Oct 2020
This place feels like a home, not a place to stay. Incredibly views, a nearby stream, and a killer hot tub. Would return nonstop.
Valerie M.Oct 2020
What is not to love? So comfortable and the views change every hour. Amenities are perfect to grill out. Dine in. And location is excellent to many hiking, fly fishing areas and the blue ridge pkwy and NP. Don’t miss the elk in Cherokee just at the entrance to the Smoky NP. Don’t be afraid of the driveway, but we had a RAV4 which climbed the incline well. It’s so private and secluded that we felt like it was our own slice of the mountain! Keep the bird feeders filled!

We greatly enjoyed our stay in this home. It was in great condition during our stay. The view of the mountains was spectacular! We liked the fact that the closet neighbor was ~200 yds away which provided a very , quiet, private atmosphere during our stay. I loved the driveway which is typical for a mountain home. The creek and water fall behind the house provided a nice place to relax (especially after heavy rain). We will be back.
Merri B.Sep 2020
This home was the perfect escape. The views are breathtaking and even better from the hot tub. Lots of opportunity for hiking and disconnecting.
Dylan W.Aug 2020
Loved our stay and the house. Did not have the twin bed that was listed unless it lies behind one of the locked doors. Wasn’t a major issue but may be for some. Very quiet with awesome views.
Hi, Dylan! We sent our caretaker to the home to ensure all of the advertised beds are in place. We apologize for any confusion and would have been happy to help had you called. Thank you for staying with us!
Phillipa C.Aug 2020
We loved the view, the hot tub and the privacy. There is plenty of space in this 3 double bedroom house tucked on the side of a mountain. The nearest neighbour was at least half a mile away making it great for that sense of escape.
Alan E.Aug 2020
All good except the hazardous driveway.
Lynn Y.Aug 2020
The house was lovely, but the view stole the show!
Carlos M.Jul 2020
The location is amazing! There are no neighbors and complete privacy. The deck and hot tub have tremendous views of the surrounding mountains and are perfect for sitting, eating, and yoga. We really enjoyed the downstairs master and the kids loved the upstairs bedrooms. Highly recommend!

We loved the house and location. Beautiful scenery. Unfortunately dealing with Vacasa is a nightmare. Before the trip, I had a question and called in for assistance. I was on hold for 3 hours(no lie, had to plug my phone in to charge) before giving up and hanging up. I messaged on Airbnb app about the check in code the day we were to arrive and got the code at 3am which was 12 hours later. If you have a problem on their listings, good luck getting a hold of someone to help with your issue. I’ve Never dealt with a property management company that is this slack.
Hi Kimberly, we apologize for the issues you experienced in reaching a member of our team at the peak of the pandemic. We have worked hard to add additional agents to our team and are pleased to note that we are once again able to assist all of our guests in a timely manner, regardless of the time of day. We hope to host you again soon!

This home was just as described. Great views! Scary road at night, much better if you get out and in with daylight. Will stay again..
Thomas M.Dec 2019
Very comfortable house overlooking the smoky mountains, views are incredible.
Sarah L.Nov 2019
This house was great! We really loved staying here and all of the beds were reported to be comfortable. I DO recommend a 4x4/AWD or high clearance vehicle to get up the driveway/road. We were in a Ford Fiesta rental car, and did not have any bad weather so were lucky but the driveway is a bit treacherous! But that seems pretty standard in the area.
Andrew C.Oct 2019
The mountain view from the cathedral ceiling living room and deck was incredible, ever changing with the light of day from sunrise to sunset, clouds and fog. House was comfortable and cozy. The steep road/driveway is not for the faint of heart, fortunately the neighbor "Darren" saved the day by grading portions of the gravel road which were bumpy upon our arrival but much better after his assistance.
Gayle A.Oct 2019
Nestled in mountains between Dillsboro/Sylva, Bryson City/Cherokee and Franklin/Highlands, we have found our perfect getaway. Add that it is pet friendly and our second visit to Wild Bird View will not be our last. You feel that you are alone on the top of the mountain, but you are just a short drive from so many great activities. It’s well worth the trip!
Florida S S.Oct 2019
Lovely home, beautiful view.
Meredith S.Oct 2019
The house is really nice and I loved the view and the hot tub. Overall it was a good experience.
However, I had a few issues. Number one is that the listing states there is a "sofa bed." I emailed the company to get details, and they said the chair upstairs folds out into a twin... the chair folds out into a mat you can lay on the floor. It is certainly not a twin size, more like a twin cut in half, and this resulted in one of our guests having to sleep on the floor. I think the "sofa bed" part of the listing is misleading.
Additionally, in my opinion, the cleanup instructions were a little over the top considering how much we paid to stay. They wanted us to wash and return all the dishes were they came from, start a load of laundry, bring all the linens to the laundry room, and strip all the beds. I feel like if I'm paying so much, the housekeeping should be able to do these things instead of asking the guest to do all of that.
We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. We have updated our listing to say twin bed instead of sofa bed and we apologize for any inconvenience. The check-out instructions are suggestions and our housekeepers will make sure the home is cleaned properly before each guest. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to host you again in the future!

Great place to stay. Very difficult driveway to maneuver. Could not get the tv to work in the den. Very quiet and peaceful.
David W.Sep 2019
This house had the most AMAZING view! Very secluded & peaceful. The little hike behind the house was awesome. We enjoyed a hike off the Blue Ridge Parkway and some time in Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge (1-1/2 hrs away). Hot tub was an added bonus. Would definitely stay again. 4Wheel drive is definitely recommended for the steep and mountain side drive.
Lee V.Sep 2019
Secluded but accessible with all of the amenities you'll need. Recommend highly for couples/families.
Ronnie B.Jul 2019
Great view, great cabin. However the master bed needs replaced, very uncomfortable and I was waking up in pain by the second morning. Also, no yard work has been done in quit a while so the bushes are severely overgrown.
Thank you for staying with us, Ronnie! We’re sorry that the master bed was not suited to your sleep preferences and we will certainly keep your comments in mind when we are considering updates for the home. The yard has been tended to, we apologize that this was not addressed before your arrival. We hope to have another opportunity to host you.

We were so grateful to stay in this beautiful chalet! From the moment we walked in we felt like we were at home. So comfortable. Amazing views. Total privacy! And we loved the private trail down to the creek! It was like hiking in the national park! This was one of our favorite vacation rentals ever, and we will definitely be back!
Elizabeth K.Jun 2019
The house has a gorgeous view from the deck and from the living room. We thoroughly enjoyed time on the deck and the walk down to the creek, which you can hear from the deck.
David A.May 2019
This is by far my favorite cabin in North Carolina. Stargazing from a hot tub at night, enjoying the view of a sprawling valley while sipping your morning coffee and being surrounded by wild birds and butterflies on the back deck simply can not be beat. Take a short trip down a hidden trail in the back yard to your own personal waterfall on the property or just enjoy listening to it in the distance.
