Lovely oceanfront cottage w/ deck and panoramic views!

You'll love this quiet, charming, oceanfront, restored 1920s cottage with updates on a private dirt road. This is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sea. You'll wake up each morning greeted by exceptional views of Cape Cod Bay, and possibly seals sunbathing on the nearby rocks. The private beach is accessible via stone steps next door, and a short walk on a country road brings you to two conservation beaches for walking and swimming. You may also escape to Cape Cod (the bridge is five miles down the road) or head up to historic Plymouth for the day.

What’s nearby:
If you're a fan of early American history, Plymouth is the perfect getaway! Visit Plimoth Plantation, a replica of the original village first settled in 1620. Don’t forget Plymouth Rock and the replica of the Mayflower soon to be returning. Situated in Pilgrim Memorial State Park, the rock is believed to be the spot where the Pilgrims first stepped foot on American soil. A ship- and rope-building mecca in the 19th century, Plymouth today boasts myriad historical sites, colonial architecture, shopping venues, and over 400 restaurants. The cottage is also five miles from the Sagamore Bridge, so you can also enjoy Cape Cod's beaches, quaint seaside villages, and wonderful seaside restaurants.

We loved our stay! The house was super clean and much appreciated. It's on the older side, but the 4-season porch is updated and an amazing place to have our meals looking out over the water. Loved seeing the seals on the rocks. The stone steps toward the beach were hard to find, but the friendly neighbor with the black dog showed us the way.

The view is very nice.

What a lovely time we had this past Labor Day weekend at your Quaint cottage. To sit on the deck and to look out over the Bay they as the seals and wildlife played was just the thing to soothe the soul and recharge our batteries. The cottage was tastefully decorated simple simple and everything you would need but need for a last minute escape it escaped. Thank you so much, would highly recommend.

The house is amazing, the location is beautiful.
I would recommend this rental and I can't wait to come back.

Nice Home with a history from 1928 like Paul the owner told us friendly. Beautiful coastline, three bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, stove, washer and a dryer as well. Very good wifi throughout the house. Cedarville 5 minutes by car. Beach near by or u climb the stones. Really quit. Spooky when the fog rises - and unbelievable scenic when the sun shines.
Thanks for letting us stay 😊 Hope to come back some time

We love the ocean view from the patio and the big wraparound porch had wonderful big windows. The living room was comfortable and a nice place to relax. The bedrooms are also nice with comfortable beds. The bathrooms were OK with the upstairs bathroom being rather tight. Access to the beach is difficult. We chose not to do any laundry, but didn’t see a way to get down to the basement anyway. For property management, the kitchen was really disorganized. Parts of it were clean, but some cupboards and drawers were gross and disorganized. I did find mouse droppings in the drawers where eating utensils were. It seems there’s a mouse problem I could hear them scurrying around in the walls around the toilet especially between the shower and the toilet. This is something that should be taken care of. Thank you for allowing us to give you our input. Jo P.

My family loved staying here, with access to a private beach, seeing the tides, and watching seals everyday. We began our day watching the sun rise, and listening to the waves. The location can't be beat. But some things were not ideal.

Access to the house is not easy, our mini van made it in dry weather. Narrow road that is not paved, with growth on both sides of the road.

It is an older house, with very small bathrooms, and no dishwasher. The kitchen utensils could be cleaner. There were not enough knives for a family of 4. We would have liked a cleaner and organized kitchen. It wasn't stocked with basic supplies as well, like oil, food storage stuff etc.

Just for the location, I would come back.
Manager response:
Thank you for staying with us, Rekha. We are so glad the location worked out well for you. We appreciate you letting us know the kitchen may be in need of additional supplies. We have made our local team aware of your concerns and they will take inventory to replace or add any items as necessary. We also apologize for any confusion surrounding what is supplied in the home. To clarify, we provide our guests with a starter kit that includes cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products. Food and other pantry items like oil are not typically stocked in the home. We apologize for any inconvenience this caused. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to host you again soon.

Location is ideal for those seeking quiet and relaxation but within reasonable driving distance to excellent restaurants and areas of interest. Our active family of five found the accommodations very comfortable and clean. The seals were vocal on many of the days and nights, especially during low tide when they would compete for open rocks. We were very pleased.

Dirt road, one lane, difficult if you have small vehicle, with truck or suv not an issue! Really Amazing view! Keurig wasn’t working while we were here. No dishwasher or bath tub (if you have small children to bathe). Clean and older but very charming property! Laundry in basement. Must climb large rocks to get down to beach, and be aware of tide if wanting beach access. Again, Amazing view!! It’s beautiful. Seals outside in distance on large rocks and rocks and shells on beach, kids loved.

Private, great views of the Ocean, enjoyed my time in the house. The house manager very professional and polite. She welcomed any feedback about the property. Thank you

This is as others have commented, except they no longer have the futon in the living room so it does not sleep 6. My op it does not sleep 5 and maybe 4 snuggly. There are two bedrooms with a full bed and 1 with a twin. If you come and are nervous about going into the neighbors yard to access the beach, don’t worry the neighbors are expecting you to access the beach. It’s clean and nice. Small bathroom, but workable and workers rhe view and privacy.
Manager response:
Hi, Denice! Thank you for letting us know about your stay. The futon was broken by a guest and has been replaced with a sofa. We apologize if this caught you by surprise. We hope to see you again!

My two friends and I were in desperate need of a peaceful getaway from our stressful jobs (what a year to be educators!) and we found just what we needed at the retreat cottage! The house was impeccably clean and well-stocked with everything we needed to cook, shower, and sleep comfortably. The house both feels pleasantly secluded, but is just a few minutes away from a town center with a grocery store, where we did our food shopping. Our trip was on Halloween weekend, and the hosts surprised us by leaving a small Halloween display with candy, favors, and a card on the coffee table– a warming touch of hospitality that set the tone for a happy stay. Of course, the best part was the view! We spent hours on the back porch and down on the beach when the tide was low, collecting smooth rocks and watching seals on the boulders offshore. The gentle sound of the ocean was the perfect soundtrack for what proved to be a perfect destress weekend. We are grateful to our hosts, and we will certainly be back!

Highly recommend - gorgeous views all day and all night of Cape cod bay! Loved waking up to the sounds of the seals hanging on their rocks in the water.

Our hosts were wonderful and very responsive prior to our arrival the home is clean and views are absolutely stunning! We spent most of our time on the large deck. Walked up the street on morning and saw some beautiful elk. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

The property is located right on the ocean, with a lovely veranda and access to a small, rocky private beach. The beach is only accessible during low tide, but that’s not a problem as low tide happens twice daily and lasts ~6hrs each time.

Inside, there are:
two standard bedrooms and one childrens’ room,
large kitchen with a nice stove, microwave, and refrigerator,
large living room with futon,
large sun room
small dining room
one and a half baths.

Spaces were well-maintained and clean. Hardwood floors and wood paneling provide special charm and a feeling of relaxed comfort.

Recommend for small groups and families.

Beautiful sunrises over Cape Cod Bay. An unobstructed view of all of Cape Cod on the horizon. A rocky natural coastline with many seals and shore birds. Drive to a sandy beach park nearby. Classic summer cottage with some modern touches. It is isolated, not a biking area.

Very cute, well maintained beach house. Close to everything in Plymouth.

This home was so charming and right on the water with views that will not disappoint! Property was very clean and well cared for. We spent one day at Ellisville Park which was minutes away and second day took a short 25 minute drive to sightseeing spots, great restaurants, and Mayflower Brewing in Plymouth. Sleeping to the sound of the water was so peaceful and it was fun waking up to see seals on the rocks near by. Will look to book again and would recommend to a friend.

Location was great. Cottage was quaint and quite nice. Very small bathrooms were unfortunate but comes with the territory of a cottage. Plenty of room.
MaryBeth M. Jul 2019
Very private. Perfect view.
Just need a coffee maker.
There was a keurig machine but no keurig coffee capsules..
Should let people arriving that they need to provide their own keurig coffee capsules.

The house is a classic Cape house and right on the water. It is lovely, comfortable, and very private. The kitchen is fully equipped except that there is no dishwasher. There are thoughtful touches throughout the house for guests. The house sits directly on the bay, but a storm last year took much of the beach away. There is access to a rock beach through stone stops next door. A sandy beach is a 2 minute drive and a .5 mile walk, Ellisville Harbor State Park. A group of seals live directly in front of the house and are fun to watch and to listen to their eerie singing. There are also lots of chipmunks about, which this Californian found adorable. While the house is in its own world, there is a small shopping center with everything you need just a 5 minute drive. Plymouth is 20-30 minutes away if you want museums and the ferry to Provincetown.
My family can't wait to go back and enjoy this unique vacation home!
