We loved the layout. With a three bedroom unit, more dining room chairs are needed. There were only 4 chairs and three barstools. Liked having televisions in the bedrooms and having a washer and dryer to clean beach towels. We’ve been renting at Barefoot Cottages for many years and always have a great time. We also like the coded doors so everyone can have the code and we don’t have to keep track of keys.

This home is everything you need at the beach-two large size screened patios, huge kitchen and living room, spacious bathrooms-everything-from furniture to granite countertops to the flooring- has been upgraded. The beds and linens were comfortable. We loved this gated neighborhood; very quiet, uncrowded and low key with two pools to choose from. The public beach was only a mile away; very easy to park and walk to the beach, and the location also had bathrooms.
We normally stay on 30A and this was a nice change of pace-no traffic jams, uncrowded, great restaurants, and it was nice seeing 'old Florida' with all the undeveloped land and forest, both on the beach and right behind the neighborhood.

I loved the location because we could go to multiple beaches. All are are a drive but we didn’t mind. The neighborhood was quiet so that was super nice. Pool is small but the kids enjoyed.
The cons- don’t plan on cooking . Very limited on cooking utilities . I had 6 people and there wasn’t 6 plates for dinner.
Multiple people can’t shower at the same time due to water pressure.
Linens felt scratchy.

We had a lovely time. It was spacious and comfortable for our family of 5 adults and 2 kids. Only issue is that it was not well stocked with essentials like toilet paper and paper towels or tissue or dishwasher tablets. Not enough towels for 8 people. Bring beach towels. Netflix went out in one room. Not clear instructions about televisions. Instructions about where pool are located on the property and where closest beach is. Not enough dishes for 8. Kitchen was not well organized so we didn’t know we had various items till after we purchased then we found. Needs list of what condo is stocked with so you know what to bring or not bring. Did any of this hurt our vacation? No but it is more feedback to improve. We enjoyed a lot about this condo.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us, Landra. We are glad you enjoyed this home and we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. Please note that a starter set of paper products and travel-sized toiletries are provided to start our guest's first night out on the right foot. We encourage guests to plan ahead if they anticipate needing additional items during their stay. We will look into adding directions for the tv, and we'll be sure an adequate supply of towels is available for future guests. We hope to have another chance to impress you!

Very nice place

House was very comfortable- near enough to town for quick store runs, but far enough away for quiet days. Would love to book this location again.

This unit in the Barefoot Cottages development is quite nice for a group. Three bedrooms accommodates 5 or 6 people well. The only real problem was the poor water pressure. There are two nice pools. I love staying in Port St Joe

We enjoyed having a full kitchen and more than enough bathrooms. We also enjoyed the screened in porch.

Great place to stay, close to everything we needed.

Overall, our stay was very enjoyable! Below are a few detailed pros and cons of this unit:
Pros: Super cute cottage, very well decorated, extremely clean, steps away from one of the community pools, all necessities for a week of living were within cottage, location*
* Barefoot Cottages are located on the outskirts of Port St. Joe, but also just a few miles from Mexico Beach. We drove into Port St. Joe daily to eat at the restaurants there. This was “maybe” a 5 minute drive, if that. We also drove to Mexico Beach several times during the week to spend the day on the beach. This was also a 5-10 minute drive depending on where you accessed the beach. The cottage was in a great location, because it was halfway between both cities. However, it would have been nice to access the beach areas without having to drive there.

Beautiful, well-kept home. We've stayed in Apalachicola (St. George Island area) and Mexico Beach, but never been to this area near Windmark Beach. We were blown away by how beautiful the water was just a short (maybe a mile) drive! Clear and calm during our stay, perfect for our 5 and 2 year old boys. Quiet and clean community. We enjoyed the pool after the beach every day.

The house was beautifully remodeled and plenty of space for a large family to spread out. They had adequate dishes and cooking utensils. Loved the washer dryer and half bath on the main floor. The master was big and each bedroom had its own bathroom. The pool was just perfect for small kids and well kept! However, the house wasn’t entirely cleaned, chip crumbs on the floor, some dishes were still dirty and they didn’t leave enough toilet paper for every bathroom. The other thing we were please about is the description of where the beach was. It stated 500 yards which is true. But you have to cross a very busy street and the beach was not adequate for kids or hanging out for the day. Windmark beach a mile away was ok but it’s worth it to drive a few miles to the public access beaches closer to Mexico beach. Next, they didn’t have extras. They supplied one roll of toilet paper for 3 bathrooms, one roll of paper towels. There was no salt and pepper, no coffee filters for the coffee. We used the grill one night. It is a camping grill in a community area. It was not kept clean at all so we had to get foil to use. The last issue was that they didn’t tell us that they turn the temperature up on the fridge took us a while to figure it out our drinks weren’t cold and how to set it cooler. Overall, it was a nice quiet area to stay but not if you plan on going back and forth to the beach.

I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Secure private and great accommodations. Best place to stay if you don’t want to stay on the actually beach. The 4 rating is because I feel like only on the beach deserves a 5. Also the master bed wasn’t super comfortable, could use a better mattress, also the AC seemed to struggle with cooling the whole place a little on 72. Need to turn the fan to on to keep it cool and have all the fans going never went above 75 though. We Will stay here again for sure.

This home is very clean, cute and relaxing. There are two pools in the complex, a gym and plenty of parking. The beach is not close enough to walk but there is beach access a block from the house. We drove into Mexico beach each day for more white sand! The house has all you need and plenty of space. It was perfect for a no agenda, beach/ pool relaxation stay.

Nice house and very nicely furnished and decorated. It's a bit far from town, but it did not bother us for a January stay. Might not stay here if going for a summer trip just because it is off the beaten path. Houses are really close together.
