Our family loved this spacious house on the beach. We found our happy place watching the waves on the deck and swimming in Lakr Michigan.
What we did not like was the lack of basic cleanliness (dead flies on the carpet in front on the windows) and having to buy all our drinking water.
Hi, Janet! Thank you for choosing to stay with us. It was our pleasure hosting you and we are glad you enjoyed your visit. We have corrected the housekeeping issues you found. We also note to guests prior to checking in that the home does have hard water. Although it is safe and is on a water softener, some guests have complained about the metal taste. We recommend guests bring their own drinking water if it's more comfortable for them. We hope we can host you again in the future!

Plenty of seating from inside to out. Nice deck and sitting area on bottom platform headed to the beach. The beach was very private and a little creek running past which was great for the kids. All appliances could use an upgrade but overall amazing weekend.

This house provided everything our golf trip needed- plenty of beds, great seating areas both inside and outside, and a spectacular setting on the lake. Already thinking of excuses to get back to this lake house. Thanks!

Great home. We had 10 people. Spacious for eating as well as plenty of accommodations to sleep. Close to Saugatuck Dunes State Park.

This secluded hide away provided great spaces to cook, dine, visit, and relax on the beach or watch the spectacular sunsets from the upper and lower decks. The home was very comfortable. The beach exceeded our expectations!
The downside was the iron in the water (which smelled and heavily stained the toilets) and the broken A/C in the Master Bedroom. I cleaned the kitchen floor and wiped down the cabinets.
This is a great space for adults and older children but challenging to child proof for toddlers.
The pluses outweighed the minuses! It’s hard to get the view, private beach access and family space all in one spot. I could see going back with the family next year.
Brenda, thank you for your feedback. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at Heron Creek. We apologize for the oversight regarding the cleanliness. We have passed along your feedback to the local housekeeping staff and manager so they are aware of your comments. We will work with our local team to ensure these items are corrected for future guests. We are sorry this experience had a negative impact on your stay, and we hope to have the chance to impress you in the future.

Large lake front home. Very clean and spacious. While we planned this trip as a family reunion for 13 adults, due to corona virus, it only ended up being 3 of us, so we had plenty of room. The home is very comfortable and would be ideal for large groups. The home and decor is a bit dated, but was very clean and well maintained. The only issue I had was that due to the extremely high level of iron in the water (well water) every time I took a shower it looked like I just had a spray-on tan. My towel and bedding were bright orange and even now 1 week later, my toe nails are still stained. The owners should look into installing an iron remover in addition to the water softener to minimize this staining.

Nothing can beat the location of this property. Awesome place to unwind. But the bathrooms need a little bit of TLC and as well as the water issue needs to be treated. It is very hard water. Except these two things, everything else is awesome about this property.
Thank you for your review, Abhinav! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. We have put a fan in the bunk room. There are two water softeners in the basement that treat the water for the home; they don't smell the best, but they are completely safe.

The house is in a great location overlooking a surprisingly (given Lake Michigan water levels) wide, sandy beach. House was large enough to comfortably sleep our eight family members. Lots of comfortable lounging area. The deck overlooking the beach half-way down the stairs is a wonderful, shady spot to hang out and listen to the waves. We'll look forward to returning.

We had a great stay at this property and definitely enjoyed the private beach access. The house was very clean when we arrived and comes with most of the amenities you need for a quick stay. We loved being outdoors, using the grill & fire pit and watching sunsets from the patio and deck. Some little things the owner / manager of the property can fix, such as one TV remote didn’t have any working batteries, there were only two small beach chairs and one was broken, the WiFi password printed out at the house is wrong (the one on the app is right), the second floor is pretty hot at night (the first floor AC works well), and one of the fans wasn’t working, but overall we had a good stay and would stay again.

Fantastic location with plenty of room for everyone without being on top of each other. As a vacation spot the house needs some TLC.
Hi, Douglas! Thank you for your review. We welcome your feedback and appreciate the opportunity to better improve our homes for future guests. We hope for another opportunity to host you again in the future!

The remote site and the grandeur of our lakeshore is the attraction of Heron Creek beach house. The comfort of the rooms, the fireplace, the remodeled kitchen and enough bedrooms for our family made for a memorable stay.
12 adults came in for Labor Day weekend and had an excellent time. The house was amazing and the porch and beach is where we spent most of our time. The house had plenty of space and the vaulted ceilings and views in the living room made it feel incredibly open and more than enough space to fit all of us in there to lounge out in the morning. The grill was great as well as the small fire pit outside on the deck. The stairs were well maintained and there was a great lookout platform area half way down them. The beach was quite private, sandy and exactly what you expect from Lake Michigan. The taxi service also was able to pick up our party and drive down to saugatuk in about 10 minutes so traveling to the city was quite easy if you don't want to drive. Uber seemed like it could have worked, but there were no cars available so not sure if it was out of range or there was no availability. Overall I highly recommend for large groups, it is an incredible property.
