Make Michigan your next getaway

Sometimes called the “Great Lakes State,” Michigan is a part of the Midwest that has a little bit of everything. Detroit, Michigan’s largest city, is one of America’s most vibrant cultural hubs, boasting Motown music’s origins and a rich heritage of car history, among other markers. People from across the state and beyond venture out to Michigan vacation rentals for the chance to enjoy one of the four Great Lakes that touch the state, or perhaps one of its thousands of smaller inland lakes. Reserve your spot at a Michigan cabin or lake house rental, and you’ll have a front-row seat to all this lovely state has to offer.

Recent Michigan vacation rental reviews

The property was nice and we had a great couple nights away. We used VRBO to make the reservation and was surprised by Vacasa's ID verification. After checking with VRBO and making sure it was legit, the process was smooth. The property was mostly clean and had everything we needed for our stay. There were a few small cleaning issues that I addressed with Vacasa during our stay. They were quick to respond by text, however a text message does not take care of the issues. We know there was nothing they could do during our short stay, and we still enjoyed our time there. I hope the issues were taken care of before the next guest arrives.

The location of the house was wonderful. Lots of room and easy access in and out.

My husband and I came to the cabin for a babymoon getaway before our 2nd is born. We loved the space, the fireplace, and all the amenities.

Michigan’s Great Lakes

With the southeastern corner touched by Lake Erie and the sparsely-populated Upper Peninsula bordered by Lake Superior, this state is surrounded by Great Lakes from end to end. Lake Michigan sits directly west of its namesake and is home to fantastic lakeside destinations like Harbor Springs. Folks venture out to a lake cabin on the shores of Lake Michigan for summer vacation, and there they enjoy the scenery of forested shores between long afternoons out boating on the lake. The other side of the state finds itself adjacent to Lake Huron, where there are plenty of lighthouses to be spotted and fish to be caught.

If you’re traveling to Michigan, you’ll want to book a comfortable cabin rental or vacation home. Once you’re feeling settled, you’ll be ready to explore all this amazing state has to offer.
