Great Cabin for the Valentines Day weekend. Clean, in a great area, and all amenities came as advertised. Some steep inclines to get to the location but well worth it.

My wife and I have stayed in a lot of cabins in the Smokies via different rental companies, and this cabin by far has been the best. No cabin is perfect, though, so I give this home a 4.8 of 5.
The cabin was very clean, and like many cabins in the Smokies, the cabin has the Smoky Mountain ambience throughout the cabin.
The Kitchen was well stocked with dishes, bowls, cups, mugs, silverware, etc., and the pots and pans were actually in usable condition (most cabins in the Smokies come with pots/pans that are too scratched up and corroded to use). The Kitchen comes with major appliances, all of them work well (don't know about the oven since we didn't use it). The minor appliances included a toaster, can opener, rechargeable flashlight, blender, and basic coffee maker. There were hot pads, paper towels, a hand towel for the dishes, soap for the dishwasher and soap pad. The water in the house does not smell like sulfur like some cabins do.
The living room furniture is leather and very comfortable. The coffee table is heavy and solid. The TV is at least a 40" (great size). The TV comes with a lot of different apps for watching movies, TV shows, etc. including, but not limited to, Netflix, Tubi, YouTube, YouTube TV, Hulu, etc., plus the cabin itself has Comcast cable. For anyone who wants to bring their own video game system, the TV has 3 HDMI ports, 1 USB Port, 1 Network cable (CAT45) port and the red/white/yellow wire connections. There is a standard DVD play (I don't think it plays Bluray). If you bring your own network chord (CAT45), there are 4 ports in the Modem itself. The fireplace was the only big major disappointment. It was electric, with no real flame, and I could not feel any heat coming out of it when it was on. It's for ambience only. :( There are plenty of outlets in the living room and even some in the floor. If you want to step back in time, there is even a telephone jack in the wall even though I don't know if it works. There is an old home phone stuffed in one of the kitchen cabinets. :)
The Master Bedroom mattress is slightly soft and comfortable, but I know that mattress feel is a preference for each individual. There are black out blinds in this bedroom, but blackout curtains would be a whole lot better. The blinds still leave gaps for light to come in and people to see in. Curtains would alleviate this problem. The furniture is definitely "mountain rustic", but the height of the bed may be challenging for older people to get in.
The view from the back porch on the first floor is really good when the leaves are off the trees, but there would not be much of a view when leaves are on the trees. However, the front of the cabin on the first floor has really good views. The back porch on the first floor comes with rocking chairs and a small table.
The second floor game room is awesome and includes, foosball, a pool table, and a video game stand-up machine. The machine says "Galaga" on the outside but actually has MANY video games on it including, but not limited to, Pacman, Ms. Pacman, Donkey Kong, Centipede, Frogger, etc. The suede couch on this level is very comfortable. There is a somewhat large TV connected to the wall that swivels, a small table with chairs, and some other stand a lone chairs.
The second floor rear porch has great views, but the views could potentially be blocked when the leaves are on the trees. The views out the front are amazing. We were there when it snowed, so the snow covered mountains looked awesome.
The bathroom on the second floor has a sink, shower, toilet and indoor tub with jacuzzi jets.
There is a jacuzzi on the second floor rear balcony with some privacy wood slats on each side of the house.
If you like sunlight, there are plenty of windows in the house. There are also privacy blinds on the front and 2 sides of the house but none in the rear.
The house has plenty of hot water for showers and the jacuzzis. However, if the shower on the second floor and the indoor jacuzzi water is going at the same time, the water pressure drops. It works better to do one at a time.
The roads from Wears Valley to the cabin are steep, winding mountains roads with no guard rail most of the way, so it's a scary drive at times.
Directions to the cabin should include the fact that when you turn into The Preserve, the road splits - stay to the right. It wasn't clear which way to go, and we ended up going past the Chapel and main office.
The front door of the cabin has no "closure" on it, so when I wanted to leave it open a crack (to keep from entering the door code again) to go out to the car briefly, the door would swing wide open bringing a lot of cold air in.
Within the last several years, we rented a cabin from Vacasa 2 times. This was our third time. The first time Vacasa was extremely pro-active to resolve problems. Before we booked this cabin, I called Vacasa to ask them about 11 or 12 questions concerning the cabin. The lady at the call center could not answer my questions. She called the local cabin manager, and they could not answer my questions. I even sent an email to Vacasa before booking the cabin with the same questions, and Vacasa ignored my questions. I sent an email during our stay to Vacasa via their app with problems at the cabin that needed to be addressed, and Vacasa never responded back. I tried to deal with this is private, but since Vacasa did not want to deal with the problems, they will be listed here. The shower in the Master Bath has an irritating high-pitched squealing sound when the shower is on. We ended up using the shower on the second floor to avoid this irritation. We looked for a dust-pan to sweep up some crumbs and couldn't find any. The pavement by the front porch step is eroding, and if a small retaining wall is not put up soon, this will become a bigger problem. Water was pouring down on the right side of the cabin because it was not all coming down in the gutter. When you walk into the Kitchen and look at the counter on the left with the sink, the counter top on the edge is coming up off of it. Some repair guy stopped at our building to fix the jacuzzi even though we never reported this. This felt awkward. The rug directly beneath the pool table is coming up (not sticking to the floor), and I kept tripping on it.
WISH LIST FOR THE CABIN: Keurig coffee maker, recliner, black out curtains for the master bedroom, closer on the front door, label the light switches, quiet dishwasher (the current one is extremely loud), lights under neath the upper kitchen cabinets especially on the stove side.
I gave this cabin 4.8 of 5 because even though I listed problems about the cabin, the problems are actually small and fixable. Compared to other cabins we've rented, this was really nice. We hope to be back again in the future and recommend it to others.
The nearest grocery store is the IGA in Townsend over 9 miles away, so it's important to be well stocked before coming to the cabin. There is a Dollar General in Wears Valley, but the grocery selection will be limited. There are gas stations and restaurants in Wears Valley. We know for a fact that Pawpaw's Catfish restaurant in Wears Valley is really good.

We loved this gorgeous cabin. The views were spectacular from the front and pretty from the back decks but partially obstructed by trees. The hot tub was awesome and the cabin was spacious. Bring your own seasonings as there are not any provided. Overall it was amazing.

The cabin was great, although the photos of the back deck are misleading. There is no clearing to see the mountains. It was quiet and the pool was nice.

The bed was very worn and uncomfortable needs a new mattress, and you either froze or burnt up regulating the temperature in the cabin was challenging, love seat was worn if the owners would put a new mattress on the bed it would make a world of difference
