Cozy, close to the beach, visited by local doe, very relaxing spacious would definitely recommend 🤗✌🏼
Shiree K.Mar 2022
This house was perfect for our beach stay, it was very clean and super accessible.
Joan B.Feb 2022
The house was very clean. Convenient location. Close to beach. Great parking. The only thing I would suggest is maybe a queen bed in the second bedroom. The two twin beds dont accommodate adults very well. We had a great visit. No problems what so ever. We definitely will be back!
Kimberly H.Jan 2022
House was wonderful location, easy access to beach & playground across the street. Lot’s of linens/towels available. Would recommend & will stay again.
Stephen K.Nov 2021
Nine o’clock at night standing in the rain and wind trying to unlock the electronic door to no avail. Called support. They sent a new code but that didn’t work. Fortunately there was a key lockbox and after some research the service tech found that code. After about 20 minutes we were in a warm, dry house.
The house is adequately supplied and comfortably furnished. The yard is overgrown and ugly but does afford privacy.
I’m not sure I want to go back—depends on what else is available. The fiasco of entry was very off-putting.
We apologize for the difficulty you had getting into the home and understand what a frustration that was. Hopefully you still had a wonderful vacation!

So I am the type that reads others feedback when deciding on where to stay but going into it knowing that there are some people you can never please. You can usually tell the complainers by the way they word their feedback. Nothing constructive, only complaints. That being said, here is what my honest opinion is of Captain Bill's Beachhouse. First off let me start by saying it's in a super location, not right on the beach, but so very close. Also it being a dog friendly home, it did not smell at all so kudos to the cleaning crew. I will agree with previous reviews, it's very dated. I so bad wanted to use my decorating skills to put up new pictures, light fixtures and furniture. It truly wouldn't be a huge investment to just do a few upgrades like this. The T.V. would be better suited mounted above the fireplace not only to free up floorspace but to make it more visible all around. The dated futon and blue chair need to go. A sectional would be wonderful and they make them with hide a beds. Just saying. The fireplace only worked intermittently, the repair guy was out and said it was a loose wire and messed with it a bit, but it never did work correctly. So that was a little disappointing. The outlets in the living room are pretty stretched out. Anything plugged in just fell out. The silverware is a little mishmashy and could definitely use updating because, well it's what people put in their mouths. I agree that the listing should note that pets are not allowed on the furniture so people are aware BEFORE they arrive. The lock code given didn't work and we had to call, they were very pleasant and responsive but even her resetting the code didn't work so we had to use the manual key and lockbox which honestly wasn't a big deal. Also good to know that there is no hairdryer provided so make sure you pack one. Even with everything I said, would I stay there again? Absolutely. It was clean, inexpensive, I could take my dog and it's within walking distance to the beach. With a few updates this house would get rave reviews from just about anyone who stayed there. Hey, I'd even come back and decorate it for some free nights. lol
Thank you Allen for your feedback. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We will be sure to pass your suggestions along to our local manager who will work with our homeowner to make necessary upgrades. We look forward to hosting you again!

The house was clean and it’s in a great location. The neighborhood is nice. But not letting the dog up on the couch and bed should be known in advance. The backyard was not dog friendly either with the partial fence. The master bath shower curtain liner needs to be replaced. This is not a house for dogs.
Hi, Melinda! Thank you letting us know about your experience so we can work on improvements. The shower liner is replaced, and we are discussing your concerns about bringing dogs with the homeowner. We hope to host you again!

Captain's Bills had everything we needed! Comfy beds, plenty of appliances, all the streaming services to log in to, a block from the beach with easy access, close to shops and restaurants, and very comfortable. Would totally come back!

The short distance to the beach.
Sarah B.May 2021
My little family of 3 stayed here for 6 nights, and we were pleased with this rental. The location was nice, short walk to the beach and I had a little peep at the ocean from the front steps. This rental had everything we needed. DVD and book collection was a little short, but we had streaming services so it didn't bother us.
Christine B.Apr 2021
The house was nice and clean. They provide lots of towels and I like that there was a washer and dryer there. There were a few problems like the trash was overflowing when we got there so I had to call but management came out in less than 10 minutes of me calling and took some of the trash out of the can. There is no heat in the living room other than the fireplace which didn’t work either on our first night as it was out of gas and the description says that a gas bbq grill is provided which there wasn’t one there either. The house comes with a 2 car garage which apparently only the owner has access to and I’m sure the grill was in there. Someone came and brought an electric grill our 2nd day and fixed the fireplace so we had heat but then I had to call again because there was no extension cord left with the grill for us to plug it in since it was electric. Was kind of a nuisance that I had to call Vacasa multiple times and we did go without heat in the living room the first night, but local management was very quick to response to all our issues which was very pleasant.
Christine, thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and apologize that you encountered some heating issues. Please know that this is not commonplace, and we thank you for calling in order for local staff to promptly resolve these issues and deliver a grill. We look forward to your next stay!

Great lighting--those huge windows make the home feel large and welcoming. New floors and comfortable arrangement. It feels very private, but is close to the beach. We will come back again!
Jessica L.Feb 2021
Great location and situated near the casino but not far from the outlets!
Taylor B.Feb 2021
This was only 2 bedrooms but it has a very nice living room that appears to be newly renovated. Bedrooms are standard but nice. Overall great place!

We stayed in Lincoln City, Oregon at Captain Bills Beach house. We arrived at about 715pm on the day of check in and the fireplace maintenance person was there working on the fireplace. He came outside as we pulled in.. Although he was very cordial and professional it alarmed me that he was not clearly identified as a maintenance person and his van was solid white without a company logo on it. For all I know he could have been a complete stranger will ill intentions. He explained that he had come out earlier in the day - at 3pm for fireplace maintenance but that he had to leave and get parts and then come back to fix it which was why he was still here when we arrived. He quickly finished what he was doing and the fireplace works great but I want Vacasa to be aware of this and future renters. If Vacasa would have communicated with me that there was a repair man on site, then I would have been fine with it. I wouldn't have worried about this.
Otherwise great rental and clean. The few games we tried to play didn't have all the pieces.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, Sarah! We are glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We apologize for the unexpected visit from our team. We will certainly follow up with the appropriate parties to ensure that we are in communication with our guests regarding any home visits. We hope to provide you with a more comfortable experience next visit!

Clean, spacious, comfortable.
Sarah B.Sep 2020
I was a bit unsure booking a pet friendly home for the simple fact that it may smell, etc. However, this house was perfectly clean and fresh.
The home itself is dated, but has everything you need and is very close to the beach. The Mist restaurant is less than 1/4 mile walk and has great fish tacos!
bettyjean n.Sep 2020
If your bringing a family bring your own pots and pans so you can cook for a family. Not enough blankets for all the beds.
Hi, Bettyjean! Thank you for staying with us and letting us know about your experience. We are doing an inventory of the home so we can restock any missing items. We hope to see you again!
Justin F.Mar 2020
We had a great time at the house, although it was short lived, only 4 days. Very spacious rooms, lots of storage space for everything. The garage was nice, since it rains quite a bit there, too.
Dolores C.Jul 2019
It was across from a playground & close to the beach. My in-laws enjoyed there stay as well. My father in-law is 96 which he was able to move around & access the shower facilities. Clean Close to the casino if your into the night life or just enjoy relaxing by the beach.
Marcia D.Oct 2018
We loved the homey feel and how close to the beach it was. The park outside our door was perfect for my 7 year old granddaughter. There was plenty of towels and toiletries and the gas fireplace was awesome. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking equipment. The only thing missing was an iron(which I bought at Goodwill and left for others to use) It was a our first rental house for a vacation and will do it again.
Cindy S.Apr 2018
A pleasant home, with garage availability, and dog friendly. There is a playground for younger kids across the street, but a lot of traffic from Hotel. Nicely shielded by shrubs, so people aren't looking in at you as they go by.
April F.Feb 2018
If you’re vacation is rained out, go to the Community Center just a half a mile away off 101. Great staff and clean pool. They have a hig-dive, a fun slide and a rope-swing. If you’re looking for dinner at Kyllos and it’s packed, try the Mist restaurant. They were really good and there was plenty of parking, no wait and even had a live band. Very friendly staff and the food was great and a little less expensive than Kyllos (which is where we usually where we go but it was packed). Also it’s less than a block away from this house!! This was a great house, we’d love to come back again!
Lowell M.Sep 2017
The house was very nice. Really clean, except for the carpet. The one draw back was that there is no outdoor space where a person could just spend some time relaxing out side. The walk to the beach was easy and short.
Rebekah I.Aug 2017
our family of 6 have stayed at this house twice, once for 2 nights and once for 4...this place is okay for a night or two but for anything longer than that, things become annoying--namely the plugs..the plugs in the master bath don't work at all, and most of the other plugs throughout the house are loose and won't hold a plug in it. Our kids were hovered around one plug and had to keep sharing the charger!
I also emailed prior to our visit, this time, asking if they could be sure the gas was filled for the grill and also to see if they had fixed the master bedroom window screen...they sure fixed it! They removed the whole screen making it so we either couldn't open the window, or allow the bedroom to become a spider haven-I'll let you figure out which one happened. Also, absolutely no response from the rental manager, at all, and no gas. We almost slept on the floor the last night, as we thought it might be more comfortable than the master bed...ugh.
Also, the housekeeper should be able to look at the registration and see that we're a family go 6 staying for 4 nights. We need more than one dishwasher tab! Don't ask us to start a load of laundry or start the dishwasher but don't leave us enough supplies to do so! Obviously we're going to do more than one load of dishes! Not to mention the cleaning fee that you charge!
Like I said, if you want to come and hit the outlet mall or casino for a night or two, this is your place-pretty close beach access and the price isn't horrible for what it is. Four nights is too long here....
Maintenance will take a look at the outlets to see what can be done. We apologize for the low propane tank and low supply of dishwasher tabs. Had the guest notified us we would have been able to rectify the problem. We will remind housekeeping to ensure these items are correctly stocked.
Matthew P.Aug 2017
While the house was located as described, about 3 blocks from the beach, and while we did enjoy the eclipse.. I found myself apologizing for the state of the place. The pictures are misleading, someone needs to wash and stretch the carpet, oh...and maybe put a legitimate futon mattress on the futon and consider some real thought into the kitchen. I don't mind a little '80s style, but seriously mismatched furniture and worn out non-stick frying pans and a motley assortment of cooking implements...why not simply offer a complete set of cooking tools?! This place was furnished from Goodwill (which has relocated and is AWESOME!) . This would be a great place to 'crash' for a binge weekend, but not a place to come and relax in any semblance of comfort. Very cheap appliances. It was thoughtful of Vacasa to leave a complimentary branded bag complete with a roll of paper towels and 4 dishwasher detergent tabs. We used all the detergent pre-washing all the mismatched dishes and plastic drinking vessels. Seriously, this is what I have come to expect from 48 years visiting the Oregon Coast (a little shabby) but at the price I paid, ZERO value.
SHANNON K.Aug 2017
This house was a lovely stay. The location was just right, we were able to get to the beach in a just a few blocks, and close enough to the main highway and stores and shops. The house was clean and equipped with everything we needed, the kitchen was well-stocked. The washer and dryer is a nice feature. The playground and basketball courts across the way was nice for the kids.
Mary L.Jul 2017
This little beach house was cute and clean with ocean views and quick access to the beach 3 blocks away. You have easy access to downtown within driving distance if you're not up to the hilly walk. There is a little public park across the street with a little climbing area, basketball hoops and lawn area. This came in handy since we have an active dog who needed to play fetch a lot. Yes, Captain Bill's is pet friendly! The house is on a blind corner, so keep an eye on those pets and kids. Great place to stay, I would stay here again.

Perfect for the price. Very well-kept and clean, with plenty of amenities. I appreciate the attention to detail.
Nayeli L.Sep 2016
A good place to stay.
Tammy B.Jul 2016
The house is nice as a base to launch out to visit the town, restaurants and beach. You do have to walk a few blocks to get the beach. There is no view from the house.
David N.Jul 2016
It's a nice place close to the beach n rite next to the casino nice area
GENO Q.Jan 2016
This was my first time using the Vacasa service and so I was a little nervous. But when I arrived everything was just as it was described on the website. Only better. We always use hotels but after this experience, we will probably consider this service more often. The house was great. A block from the beach. Great location. Plenty of towels, blankets, kitchenware. It was great being able to pull our car in the garage. Just wonderful! I will stay there on all future visits to Oregon.
We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your suggestions and we look forward to seeing you again.
