Parking Notes: Parking - There is parking at the top of the driveway (street level) for two cars, another at the switchback pad, and two at the front of the cabin. (NOTE: IF THERE IS SNOW ON THE GROUND, ENSURE YOU READ THE SECTION THAT FOLLOWS ENTITLED ‘Visiting Under the Trees in the winter ’) The driveway has a sharp switchback, DON’T attempt to turn left towards the cabin at the midway point, instead use the large paved pad to pull into and reverse down the driveway to the cabin if desired. Two red reflectors on the post mark the edge of the driveway. Never reverse down the driveway at night. Do not leave food (or food waste) in your car. The door lock on your Prius is no match for a determined Bear. If you are pulling a trailer of any size, leave it at the top of the driveway (you will see a large gravel area off the road.) If you risk towing your trailer down the driveway, there is a chance it will fall off the driveway into the forest.Visiting Under the Trees in the winter (Late November to Late March) Our elevation is exactly 5,000 feet ASL. The cabin was full of thousands of dead and dying ants. There was no extra toilet paper or paper towels, and no guest binder to tell us where everything was. Oh, and about 5 different light bulbs were burnt out with no replacements available. Could have been a great trip but it lacked some common sense features.
Manager response:
Hi, Devan! We are sorry to read there was anything that detracted from your enjoyment of Under The Trees. The home has been treated for pests, and we have replaced the light bulbs. Thank you!

The house is amazing but the house has an ant infestation (July 21) that has to be solved before the next clients arrive. Also the outdoor areas had not been cleaned for weeks and the hot tub was half capacity (we had to refill it ourselves). With the amount of mi ey we paid (more than 300usd per night) these problems should have not existed.
Manager response:
It's a pleasure to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We have ensured that pest control treatments are completed to prevent any further concerns. Thank you for staying with us. We hope to host you again!

Excellent location – quiet, surrounded by trees, great hiking, swimming, and towns a short distance away
Lots of outdoor space including two decks, one right outside the kitchen, another a short distance from the cabin.
Kitchen well stocked with cooking supplies, look in multiple locations for pots and pans, including the inside of the oven.
Comfortably accommodates 4-5 adults
A large bin of maps and other local information was helpful.
The WiFi covers a wide area and was very reliable.
The hot tub comfortably fits four adults, though it wouldn’t heat over 99 o

The driveway is challenging, but you can park along the road and walk down a short staircase.
The interior is very dark, only the kitchen and bathroom have sufficient lighting.
The cabin does not cool off much at night, leaving the upstairs warm and stuffy in the summer.
One of the beds upstairs is much higher than usual, a step stool would be helpful.
The stairs down to the third bedroom and laundry area are steep with poor visibility.
Downstairs bedroom has no closet or dresser to put one’s belongings
Downstairs bathroom has no shower, only a tub with a shower hose
Some basic supplies in short supply – toilet paper, dish soap, coffee filters
The mini-dishwasher is too small to be of any real use and it takes up precious counter space.
Manager response:
Lynn, we are so happy to hear you enjoyed this home and its location! We are sorry for any miscommunications regarding the number of consumable products provided in the home prior to your arrival. To clarify, we provide our guests with a starter kit of supplies. This includes cleaning supplies, toiletries, and paper products. Once these supplies run out it is the responsibility of our guests to provide any additional supplies throughout the remainder of their stay. Supplies are restocked before each guest. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused during your time with us. We have passed along your feedback regarding the lighting and storage space to the local manager so they are aware of your comments, and can work to correct this for future guests. We appreciate your feedback as our guest’s comfort is very important to us. We look forward to having the opportunity to host you for a more enjoyable stay.

We had a wonderful time at the cabin Under the Trees. This place is in a great location with ample space to explore and play right outside, and MANY wonderful amenities with games (mini and jumbo Jenga!), swings, multiple places to lounge outside, and every electronic gadget you could think of, fast internet, and a great TV/stereo setup.

We did encounter some stumbling blocks though: we could not locate the house instruction binder anywhere; 3 outlets in one bedroom upstairs did not have power; the hot tub was dirty and we had to call for maintenance; and a minor thing, but there was no laundry detergent so we could not get a towel load going when we checked out; there were covers and odds and ends wadded up behind beds and furniture, and the decks really were in need of a general sweep and cleaning -- seemed pretty neglected.

Also keep in mind that there is no A/C, and on a hot weekend like ours, you'll spend a bit of effort managing the house temp manually. There is only one ceiling fan in the house.

All in all, a great time was had despite some hiccups in services we've come to expect from vacation rentals.

Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
Manager response:
Hi, Emma! Your helpful feedback is appreciated. The homeowner is preparing a new guest binder to bring with him during his next visit, and an electrician will be scheduled for the outlets. We apologize for the housekeeping oversights and will address them with our staff. Thank you!

Perfect place for a getaway! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to visit this lovely place. The only hiccup was that the hot tub (jacuzzi) was really dirty and was only half-filled. It is truly a magical place there! Thank you for being so accommodating!
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Pablo! We are disappointed to hear of the issues with the hot tub. We have provided your valuable feedback with our local manager to address. We hope we have the chance to host you again!

The cabin is a nice little cabin under the trees with a spa located close to the driveway and a sitting area not too far from the spa and house. Its a quiet little get away place.

Only things wrong were the lighting isn't bright in the cabin and the towels for the kitchen and bathroom are limited. I would have liked more lighting through the cabin and more towels. Over all it is a nice time away from the hustle and bustle of the daily life.

The cabin is also like someone lives there when not rented out. There are things there that are for personal use.
Manager response:
Hi, Sean! We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and appreciate your input. We have brought your lighting concerns to our maintenance crew so they can look at options. Thank you!

We stayed at this listing for 3 nights. The cabin is clean and spacious. The hot tub is located close to the cabin but still surrounded with trees. Overall we had a great time and will recommend this place to friends, and will definitely come back.

This was a very nicely upgraded classic Mountain A-Frame Cabin. It had fresh, modern conveniences without spoiling the classic vibe we were looking for. We will definitely stay here again.

We loved the cabin, the cute decor, the rustic feel, all the amenities, and the trees!!! Such a comfortable and sweet stay, we didn’t want to leave!
