Ocean Trails was close to Mendocino & Fort Bragg. The home was very clean and the furniture was comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, hot tub was perfect and the beds were very comfortable. Beware only that the front master bedroom has skylights so bring your sleep masks!

We found the place very clean and comfortable. Lots of space and a good location with a nice view. We had two small issues while staying there: (i) the oven caused fumes in the house and (ii) the barbeque was badly rusted and nearly unusable. Vacasa was extremely responsive. Within 90 minutes of telling them a local representative had checked both items. The barbeque they replaced within a few hours. They told us the oven fumes were due to it running on propane, but were normal. The kitchen was well equipped and the versatile toaster oven was extremely useful. We would certainly stay there again.
Manager response:

We are pleased to hear our local staff was able to resolve these issues and set you back on track for a wonderful rest of your stay. We look forward to hosting you again soon!

We had a wonderful time and will be back soon. Everything was perfect.

The views of the ocean, the many hanging out areas inside and out, the enormous kitchen all added to a wonderful time with our family. We enjoyed the hot tub, pool table and arcade table. The location is also perfect.

What a warm atmosphere with spectacular views and beach access close by. Lovely home - spacious and clean, the hot tub was relaxing and just an easy stay at a wonderful home. Thank you for the many memories. We will be back next year!

We all loved this home. It was large enough for six of us to enjoy comfortably. It was well kept and clean. The hot tub was well maintained. The view of the ocean was lovely. We are going to make staying at this home an annual event.

Although it was advertised as handicapped access, I am glad no one had a wheel chair to have to get up the few stirs. The showers without bars were a challenge, but otherwise, EVERYTHING is well-planned and working perfectly. Great location for hikes along the Russian Gulch trails. Four families stayed, and the layout is such that you didn't bother each other in the morning or late at night. Wonderful place!
Manager response:
Thank you for choosing us for your stay, Janet, we are delighted that you enjoyed your time in the home! We do apologize for any confusion regarding the home's accessibility and for any inconvenience this may have caused - to clarify, this home is not listed as being handicap accessible. Please know that our guest services line is available 24/7 to assist with any questions or concerns. We look forward to having the opportunity to host you in the future!

Very clean on arrival and when we had an issue with the master bedroom lights they sent someone out immediately. Loved all of the large windows throughout the house….provided us with lovely views of the ocean from the living room especially! Kitchen is HUGE and had all of the cooking utensils we needed for the meals we ate at the house! It’s an easy walk from the house to Russian Gulch State Park which was very convenient, especially with small kids.
Would definitely stay here again in the future!!

Big house with plenty of space and seating areas to be together or room for privacy. 2 separate areas for guest rooms really worked out great. For example adults who wanted more quiet on one end and kids on the other. Kitchen was large and very well stocked with all kinds of dishes , utensils, cooking pots n pans. Hot tub was a great highlight too. Great views of ocean and surrounding countryside. 4 bathrooms were great and stocked well. Jacuzzi tub was enjoyed by all as well as the large shower in master bedroom. Pool table provided lots of entertainment. Recommend you bring disposable containers to store left over food as well as Saran Wrap, zip bags etc as that is not included. Only thing we didn’t like was not all windows had screens so could not open them all to enjoy the nice ocean breezes. Beach access was not as close as we would have liked but driving to the Russian Gulch beach was right down the road. Otherwise it was an amazing place and we all enjoyed. We will definitely return to this house.
Manager response:
Thank you for your comment. New bedroom windows are on order and I hope if you chose to join us again the new windows will be installed by then.

Loved the size which provided privacy. Game room entertainment for all ages. Kitchen large enough for many chefs. Fenced in yard for the dog and children.

Our two families enjoyed the beautiful ocean views and sensible layout which provided everyone with enough space. There's a lovely deck from which you can even hear the ocean, and the kitchen is well stocked. If you have dogs, watch out for poison oak which can make an appearance in the back yard. The house is in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood - easy walking distance to the state park, the bluffs, the beach. Our one complaint is that the master bedroom's windows are all sealed shut - something I've never seen before , so you can't open them for ventilation. (There is a side door in the master which does open, which means if you want to listen to the ocean at night from the master, you'd have to leave the door open.) The second master has one opening window. (It also has a side door.)
Manager response:
Thank you for your comment about the windows in the bedrooms. We understand your frustration. A combination of being in a small town and being in the midst of COVID is causing a material delay for the new operable windows. Most windows in the home have been replaced after a five-month material delay. I hope if you join us again the new bedroom windows will be installed by then.

The home is comfortably beautiful and was absolutely perfect for our family getaway with three small families. Especially during covid when there isn't much to go do, the large kitchen, family area, deck, and beaches were a perfect setting for our safe vacation! We are looking forward to our next visit.

We loved this house - it was perfect for our family. Our group consisted of my family of 4 (me, husband and 2 boys) and my mom and stepdad. We basically had our own wings - were never disturbed by each other at night or in the morning. The hot tub is great. Neighborhood is quiet and you can walk to Russian Gulch. The deck is great for a morning yoga practice. Would stay here again for sure.

Location was great, no neighbors around, great for relaxing. Home had great amenities, pool table, hot tube, and BBQ grill. If we come back to the area, will look up to stay at this home again.

The house was more than advertised and perfect! It was huge and spacious allowing us to space out when we needed to and come together easily as well. The kitchen is huge and spacious making it easy for multiple people to be in there preparing food. It is also well stocked with plenty of dishes/silverware/glasses and things to cook. The rooms are all large offering plenty of comfortable beds as well as additional Cots and sleeping areas. The 4 bathrooms all have showers and are well stocked with hair dryers, soap and shampoo. The hot tub and pool are great extras that were enjoyed in the evenings. The WiFi signal is very good and allowed 4 of us to work remotely while my 6 year old did her distance learning in the mornings without any problems. The house has a very “homey” and comfortable feel which made it easy to relax and enjoy our stay. An added bonus - deer and wild turkeys almost every morning on the lawn. We will definitely return!

This property was perfect! The house is huge and there is plenty of room for everyone. The pool table was a huge plus! I can’t tell you how many games were played but it was in almost constant use. The kitchen was big enough to have kids and adults cooking together without over-crowding the space. The bedrooms are spacious and there are 4 full bathrooms. At night you can sit outside and see the Milky Way. It’s peaceful and you can hear various animals, both day and night. We were excited to see a dozen turkeys, 2 young bucks, and a rabbit in the yard one morning. * The walk to the beach in Russian Gulch State Park is about a 15 min walk (or you can drive in and pay $8 for the day). If you drive in it takes about 3 mins and you can hike the trails later that same day. We enjoyed the beach for about 2 hrs, went back for lunch and then back to hike to the 26ft waterfall. Very long hike but totally worth it. If you have small children and plan to do the hike, I recommend bringing a carrier.

This house was perfect for my large family: wife, eight children ages twenty four to four, daughter in law and three grand-kids ages one to four. We loved the two master suites. There was a comfortable place for everyone to sleep, the kitchen layout was such that three people can cook easily without bumping into each other and the dining area sat everyone easily. We particularly enjoyed the large living room and the pool table was in use the entire time. There are four kid friendly beaches within five minutes drive: Russian Gulch, Caspar, Jughandle and Big River and when we weren`t enjoying that we loved just hanging around this pretty house enjoying the atmosphere and the views. Mendocino is just a short run for morning coffee and pastries at Goodlife Cafe and Fort Bragg just a little further for bigger shopping trips, pizza from D`Aurilio`s or ice cream at Cowlick`s. This house is perfect for a large family or multiple families. It is just what you want for a week on the coast - quaint, comfortable and roomy.
