Dog-Friendly Oceanview Duplex w/ Beach Access - Walk to Nye Beach Shops

Steps away from the picturesque shores of the Oregon Coast, this dog-friendly Newport escape gives you a place to unwind in peace and beauty. Comprised of two separate living spaces that can be rented separately, room for up to 12 guests, and a central location near a variety of activities, you won't have to go far for fun. Two dogs are also welcome and allowed only in the lower level of the home.

Two miles from the Oregon Coast Aquarium, and set just six blocks from the Yaquina State Park that hugs the beautiful Yaquina Bay, this home puts you in the heart of the coastal action. Beach access is right across the street, and the shops and restaurants of Nye Beach are a few blocks north.

This listing includes both halves of the duplex - though you can also rent one or both halves individually as needed. Each section of the duplex is self-contained and features all the comforts of home, making this a perfect arrangement for two families traveling together or for a large group. Dogs are also welcome to come along for an additional nightly pet fee.

Each half of the duplex (which is divided into upper and lower sections) has its own living area, kitchen, full bathroom, and two bedrooms. The upper level has a private balcony and the lower floor has a patio.

Vaulted wood-beamed ceilings and sweeping ocean views from the upper floor welcome you into your seaside getaway. Lounge around on the inviting couches as you keep up with all of your favorite cable shows on the flatscreen HDTV. Pop some popcorn and make it a movie night with your favorite DVD. Connect to the WiFi to check the forecast before your next adventure.

Put together a small plate of hors d'oeuvres, grab a bottle of wine, and sink into relaxation on your private balcony or patio where you can watch the waves roll in and tell stories underneath the stars.

Head back inside and take advantage of the open kitchens. With upgraded granite counters and all of the conveniences of home, you'll be able to whip up a delicious dish for all of your guests easily. Let the dishwasher do the clean up as you finish the night off with a few rounds of board games with the kids' and adult games provided.

When it's time to retire, this four-bedroom, two-bathroom duplex can comfortably sleep up to 12 guests. With each bedroom boasting its own queen-size bed, you and your guests will be able to spread out and stay in style. There are two pull-out futons available for even more sleeping options.

Wake up with the view of the crashing waves as you enjoy your morning cup of coffee. Leave the car at home while you revel in a long, meandering stroll along the sandy shore. Take in the stunning sights at Yaquina State Park and experience the beauty of the nature preserve.

Take a two-mile trip to the Oregon Coast Aquarium and the neighboring Hatfield Marine Science Center and learn about the local ocean life and the maritime history of the area. Afterwards stop in for an ice-cold brew and some mouth-watering dishes at the Rogue Ales Brewery.

Elsewhere around Newport are plenty of antique shops, art galleries, and eateries of all types. For a fun day trip, head north about 30 miles to Lincoln City, and make sure to stop in at Depoe Bay, the whale-watching capital of the coast, along the way.

Come bask in the fresh ocean air and natural beauty that surrounds this Oregon Coast home, and make life-long vacation memories.

Ideal location. Great view. Close to everything

We enjoyed this place. Convenient to the beach. No problems with check in. Be aware the dog is only allowed downstairs and up and down Units do not connect from inside. The bed and linens were good. Cleanliness good.
Manager response:
Hi, David! Thank you so much for telling us about your experience. When guests rent both units as a whole, the listing does feature that they are separate. We apologize if this was missed. We do send out an alert to our guests advising the dog situation as well when these units are rented as a whole. Thanks again!

I've been coming here for several years. It was a gem. Since Vacasa took over the fees have litereally doubled, with no real difference in experience. They have clearly done some remodeling. the downstairs has replaced a picture window with a slider.... That's great, but it creates an awkward living space. I don't know. It used to be really friendly... now it's more cold and corporate. It's still a great place. The comforts are good. The views and beach access are amazing. Don't hesitate to book, it's just a step down from the personal experience that kept us coming back

A kitchen with all the items you’d need and all very clean and well presented. We would definitely recommend it, as we feel so lucky to have found this little treasure in the beautiful town of Newport. The beds were very comfortable; great following a long day of exploring! Checking in was hassle-free. The location couldn’t be better, beach across the street and down a long flight of stairs. Once on the beach to the right, there were tide pools and all sorts of sea life. We even saw whales breaching from the balcony upstairs!

We rented the entire house so our family could join use. Turns out we ended up without the family. We stayed in the lower unit “dog house” as we called it. Unfortunately the lower level needs some tlc, new paint, new bathroom fan, new electrical receptacles, hot and cold water in the kitchen are reversed. The view is amazing but the downstairs couch is weird (futon is too big) and uncomfortable. Kitchen needs some better knives and a real cutting board. We also don’t think it was very clean as we spent a lot of time keeping after our dogs who were obsessed with the smells on the floor. Also the house numbers are the painted the same color as the house which is a huge safety concern. We enjoyed our stay but would have much rather stayed in the nicer unit upstairs, but because we brought the dogs we stayed downstairs.
Manager response:
Hi, Krista! The property manager has purchased a new cutting board and verified the kitchen faucet and outlets are working. She will discuss the bathroom fan, paint, and knives with the homeowner. The futon was replaced less than a year ago. Thank you!

This is a clean, dog friendly place to stay. It has a fenced back yard that allows convenient dog breaks between beach walks. There is a stairway down to the beach directly across the street between the Shiloh Inn buildings. There is a reasonable view of the ocean out the front windows.

I have rented the Beach Retreat many times, as it's a great place, well equipped, great location, and wonderful owner. I almost hesitate to share this best location. Will definitely be renting it again.

We loved that this is right across from the stairs to be beach. The view from the upper unit and its deck looks right out to the ocean. Great for whale watching. The upper and lower units were both well equipped and there was plenty of space.

nice to stay, this is my second time stay here.

Upper retreat was nice, don't bother with the lower one.

Clean, comfortable, watched whales from living room window. Downstairs is a separate apartment, good for a group that have varied sleep schedules.

I had good experience here. Great view of sunset will be in my memory.

We had a large family get together (3 couples, 5 kids) and the house was a good fit. Great beach access. Fun tub of beach toys found on the lower level. It's not fancy, but it's comfortable. Found all the kitchen gear we could possibly need for cooking in, but also convenient to good restaurants for dining out. Very comfy beds.

Perfect location. Needs a little updating. Only really sleeps 8. Very clean!
