Wooden steps at the front of the cabin lead to a wraparound deck with a gas grill. The deck sweeps around into a sunny sitting area with a four-person dining table and a grassy front yard. It's a fabulous spot to sip morning coffee with a view of the pines.
Step inside the house from the deck and enter a small hallway. Straight ahead is a stylishly furnished open concept living, dining, and kitchen space. To the left, a bright living room has a stone fireplace and 54in smart TV, equipped with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and YouTube TV. Sink into an armchair or sprawl out on a huge sectional sofa seating six.
To the right, a rustic barn-style dining table offers seating for eight. Steps away, a gourmet kitchen features marble countertops and stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, microwave, and stove/oven. Dig into pre-dinner snacks and chat with the chef at a kitchen island seating three.
Turn right off the kitchen where a hallway leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms. First on the left is a shared bathroom with a tiled walk-in shower. Along the hallway to the right, a guest bedroom sleeps two and features a plush California king bed and a 31' smart TV.
Next door, kids will love camping out in the second bedroom with two trundle twin beds -- offering total sleeping for four.
Opposite, the cabin's primary bedroom sleeps two and has another California king bed, a 30' smart TV, and a large walk-in closet. The room also comes with a contemporary en-suite bathroom featuring a stylishly tiled shower.
LOCATION
This quiet cabin among the pines is just a 4-minute drive from Homewood Mountain Resort, where alpine slopes come with dazzling views over Lake Tahoe.
In the warmer months, take a short walk to the Tahoe Pines Beach and Pier, or grab backpacks and enjoy hiking around Sugar Pine State Park -- just a 10-minute drive from home. Hire mountain bikes and follow the road along the shores of nearby Lake Tahoe, or enjoy an afternoon of kayaking and boating out on the water.
When all that exploring makes you hungry, take a scenic drive along the lake in either direction. Three miles north you'll find homey Fire Sign Cafe and Spoon, and 2 miles south you'll find perfectly prepared steaks at Swiss Lakewood Restaurant and a lodge-style eatery West Shore Cafe and Inn.

- Parking notes: Please note that during the winter, Hwy 89 is closed at Emerald Bay due to avalanche danger. If you are arriving from Hwy 50 in South Lake Tahoe, you'll have to drive around the whole lake in order to access this home. Placer County prohibits the parking of all RVs, trailers, boats, snowmobiles, or other recreational vehicles at the property. Guests are encouraged to seek out alternative parking with California State Parks or local marinas. Parking is available for 2 vehicles in the driveway. There is no garage. No street parking is alllowed.
