The house is dated, but that was expected. Typical 1970's Tahoe cabin. The master bathroom floors were so buckled from water damage that we had to shower in the hallway bathroom. Additionally, there was a hole in the door frame in the master bathroom that had been previously chewed by something small and hairy with a long tail. For the money the owners are charging to rent their homes, one would expect things like this to be fixed. The real issue, though, were the mice. They come out at night. We actually had a mouse run across the master bed and touch my fiancé's ear while she slept! The next day we found mouse droppings on the plates in the cupboard and on the kitchen table bench. Not hygienic and definitely not acceptable. Property management was informed after the first night, but it was just a can kicking response. I'm a pretty flexible person and tolerant, but this was not acceptable. I would not recommend this property.
Manager response:
Sean, thank you for providing your valuable feedback. We sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered during your stay and want you to know that this is not commonplace and the local manager is working with the homeowner to resolve them. The mice issue has been fixed and steps have been taken to avoid any future occurrences. The hole in the door frame is scheduled for repair within the next couple of weeks and plans are in the works to repair the areas of the flooring where there is buckling. We always strive to provide excellent vacation experiences and are sorry this was not the case for you. We hope you will give us another chance to better impress you during a future stay.
