As eyelids fall heavy, head into either of the two bedrooms for a good night's rest. The master bedroom features a queen bed across from a flatscreen TV and the guest room has two twin beds. Loved staying in a historical home. Nicely decorated and clean. Now the not so great…there was no toilet paper or laundry detergent. The tenets below had loud, barking dogs all hours. The driveway is in disrepair. One of our vehicles actually got stuck.
David, we're sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction. We always appreciate guests' feedback as a means to improve. We passed your comments along to the necessary parties for consideration and hope you give us another opportunity to host you again in the future!
Deeksha S.Jul 2022
Everything was fine only the beds were making noise. Sofa cum bed was a little uncomfortable.
But overall, we loved the stay! Thank you.
Deeksha, thank you for the review of your stay. We are so glad you enjoyed your vacation! While we understand that sleeping preferences vary widely, we are sorry to hear that the bed did not provide for a comfortable night of rest. We look forward to hosting you again!

Very cute historic home in Cedar City. Very clean when we arrived. Close to SUU and walking distance Shakespeare Festival theatres.

Great location in Cedar city for restaurants, groceries, and places to walk a dog. House was very clean and had all the amenities we needed. Full kitchen and washer and dryer made an multiple day stay more affordable. Great location to Zion and Bryce Canyon National Prks,

Quaint upstairs unit. 2 bedrooms with a pull out sofa. We had 6 people so we fit great, but the 1 bath made mornings a little crazy. Home is clean and equipped with all your needs. We were able to make huge breakfasts every morning since we were out the rest of the day.
There are dogs that bark - but I love pups so we didn't mind. The primary suite does not have a closet to hang items.
Hi, Shelly! We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your visit! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your valuable feedback with us. We passed your comments along to our local manager to review and we appreciate guest’s preferences as a means to continually improve. We look forward to hosting your next stay!

The location is great for this rental. It was an easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. There were a couple of issues that I would like to mention. We slept in the room with the queen size bed, and when one person turned, the other person bounced. The towel ring in the bathroom was just hanging on the wall plate and came off with one pull of the towel. The set screw had not been properly set, and we ended up just resting it on the floor so that it would not fall and get scratched. The triplex was pretty cute, and the house was pretty clean, but the two-car parking was not good. We have a mid-size car, and the driveway had a pretty steep approach from the street that started to scrape the back of our car as we started to drive up the driveway, so we parked on the street in front of the house. It would have been nice if there was a sheet to let us know a couple of things like so many rentals have, i.e. are we supposed to wash our used dishes/utensils and put them away in the cupboards or leave them out for the cleaning company? Are we supposed to leave the garbage in the kitchen or put it out in a garbage can? Instructions for use of the Roku TV control would have been a nice addition. We figured it out, but it took a little bit to do so.
Thank you for staying with us! We are so glad you had a great time! We take guest feedback seriously and have forwarded this information to the local staff so they can review and update the home as needed for future guests. We will be sure to follow up with the appropriate parties regarding your experience. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again soon!

There was a significant amount of dried blood on the Master bedroom comforter. Other than that we loved it.
Hi, Martin! We are so sorry housekeeping missed catching the stain on the comforter; it has been replaced. Thank you!
Cory S.Apr 2021
Great place, very clean, well stocked, perfect location for baseball tournament. The only recommendation to enhance the stay would be darker shades on the bedroom windows. The commercial lights across the street leave the rooms very bright at night. Will stay again very soon. Thanks

The house was very cozy and clean. It was homey and comfortable. The stairs were a little inconvenient but overall it was a really nice place to stay. - Angela T.

My family loved this spot. Cute little private upstairs portion of a beautiful house. Close to downtown, able to walk to a bunch of great spots. I love Cedar City, a close drive from Cedar Breaks and Brian Head. At some point in the future it would be nice to have driveway or carport parking for guests, but other than that the property was perfect.

Walking distance to grocery store. Comfortable and well furnished with some lovely antiques.

Quiet street well furnished.
Walking distance to shops, super market, restaurants, barber shop

Disgusting, filthy house was falling apart we arrived food crumbs on the floor utensil rusty pubic hairs in the bed it was disgusting I was appalled no response for 3 days I requested a refund they refused they gave me my $75 cleaning fee back
I inquired prior as to how they do the cleaning due to pandemic and was given a detailed list that did not hold tree
Thank you for staying with us! We are sorry to hear you did not have an enjoyable experience and we apologize for the house not being cleaned thoroughly prior to your arrival. We are sorry for the delay in response from our team, as we are working hard to train more local staff to better fill our guest's needs. We are glad that our team was able to compensate you for your troubles. We appreciate your feedback, and we look forward to hosting you for a more enjoyable stay in the future!

Nice and clean . Great location to visit a few different national parks in the the area.

Really liked this place. Plenty of dishes, etc. Lots of nice towels. The decor really makes it feel like home.
I loved that we were across the street from the grocery store and other shopping.
The only advice I'd give is:
1. Change the batteries routinely in the smoke alarms. It's was pretty freaky when it started chirping in the middle of the night.
2. Same with the remotes or keep a spare set in the house.
3. Keep the fire pit area groomed. There was painted pickets with nails sticking out, in the pit along with some other trash. Grass was a foot tall in places.

My twin 8 year old girls and I spent a couple of nights at the Old Mayor's House during Memorial Day Weekend and loved it. Very comfortable and tons of character. Beds were great. Lots of privacy and quiet. Across the street from the backside of a supermarket. Outstanding value. Fantastic place for a family of four people. Wifi worked without a hitch along with the grill. Would stay here again when back in Southwest Utah. Loved every minute I was there! A++!!!!

Really enjoyed our one week stay. It had everything we needed. Great supply of nice soft towels, very clean, super convenient location.
Susan B.Oct 2019
Beautiful decorated comfortable well stocked with all you need in the kitchen
Liz M.Oct 2019
the old mayor’s house was perfect! Quiet, comfortable, welcoming, and had everything we could possibly want. And it was centrally located to all of our destinations!
Megan M.Sep 2019
It was just perfect and comfortable and we made dinner for friends and saved a bunch of money eating in. So close to the USF and everything. Would definitely stay here again!
Juergen Z.Aug 2019
Beautiful historic interior. We missed nothing.
Joe H.Aug 2019
The apartment was clean and well kept it was the perfect amount of space for four on a work trip. It was great to have a kitchen and refrigerator at our disposal. The house is located close to everything: grocery store, restaurants, theaters, and Starbucks. It was very easy to find and well lit outside. We really enjoyed our stay.
Richard L.Aug 2019
Always amazed at how these historic old homes seem to endure with grace and charm. This place has all that one needs for a comfortable stay: nice beds, privacy, clean bathroom, kitchenette, reading room. Had a nice stay.
Priscilla F.Jul 2019
We loved how clean and well-equipped this rental was. But the listing made it appear as if it was a single-family one-story home. When actually this rental is on the second floor at the top of a very LONG staircase. We are two older women friends and we struggled to get our luggage up the long stairs. Also, the shower had no grab bars.
On the other hand this would have been perfect for a youngish couple with two kids. It had a well-equipped kitchen, nice TV and pleasant dining room. And a washer dryer.
It was close to the Shakepeare Festival which we were attending. Parking in front was easy. Restaurants are nearby.
It would be a 5 star except for the misleading description.
Rosa D.Jun 2019
Our stay at the Old Mayor's House was amazing! It was within walking distance to everything needed. We had a wonderful stay and appreciated feeling at "Home".
Kade P.May 2019
Comfy. Well kept. It suited our families needs perfectly. Thanks.

Hailey P.Oct 2018
This was a very charming and comfortable place I would highly recommend it!
Sonja B.Aug 2018
This is a wonderful home. It has lots of stairs but if that is okay it's great.
Karen B.Aug 2018
Clean, quiet, roomy, wonderful amenities. Didn't have to worry about dishes, linen, towels. Climate control great! Privacy (even from each other!) Very, very nice and convenient to shopping and theater.
Jeroen W.Jul 2018
Very nice place to stay if you want to visit national parks like Zion and Bryce Canyon. Clean and comfortable, it has everything you need and more (like a record player and old country records by Hank Williams and Andy Williams!).
Susan S.Jul 2018
Walking distance to Utah Shakespeare festival and downtown shops. It was just my mom & me, and she is 75. Stairs were a little tough, but the property was perfect for us!
Holly F.Jul 2018
We love our stay at this property. We stayed in the upstairs apartment. The yard was big and we were able to host a small bbq. Walking distance to park, baseball fields and shopping. Quiet and comfy! Loved it
Roxane B.Jul 2018
I think it's important to know the house is upstairs. We did not have any difficulty with that but it could be a problem for some.
Maureen D.Jun 2018
A very cozy place to stay within walking distance to stores and restaurants. Easy travel to Zion, Bryce and Cedar Breaks.
Brett B.Oct 2017
We love the location right behind Lin's grocery. You can walk to downtown Main Street and enjoy the stay there. Property was set back off the main street so it was quite quiet. I love the decor inside and the quaint feeling out of place. It had a lot of character.
Maureen M.Oct 2017
My sisters and I rented this place for the weekend. It was much more modern inside than we expected and was in excellent condition. It was very clean and welcoming. We attended a play, but spent most of the rest of the weekend hanging out in this place and just enjoying each other's company. We will be back!
Tim H.Sep 2017
We originally planned for 2 nights, but were fortunate to extend it by 2 days. Wonderful place, and great location. The surrounding neighborhood seems a little run down, but we didn't have any issues while we were there. We used Cedar City as a central point for visiting Bryce, Zion, and even Capital Reef. We would stay there again in a heart beat.
Rebecca R.Aug 2017
This house was simply charming and well maintained! I wished parking was better (it was terrible) and clear communication that this home is also occupied by several full time renters. The sharing made it less than private. With that being said, I can't say enough about how charming and well maintained our portion of the home was!
Michael V.Jul 2017
We had many choices over the July 4th extended weekend to call our home base, for day trips. We chose Cedar City, and we are glad we did. The old mayors house was a perfect fit. Centerally located, for our day trips, and very comfortable. Market was within walking distance, and our favorite meal out wd Sonny Boys BBQ.
We traveled to Zion, Kolob, Bryce, & Cedar Breaks in our 5 days in Utah.
Julie S.Jun 2017
This rental is just the second floor, but can fit 4-6 people in the space. The house is old, but looks recently renovated and very well decorated. The wifi and AC both worked great. It was easy to find and we had shaded parking on the street out front. Bring a baby gate for the top of the stairs if you have a mobile baby.
Paisley T.May 2017
The pictures cannot even show how adorable this house is. The beds were comfy, everything was in great shape, and the kitchen had everything you would need. The one thing that surprised us is we thought it was the whole house but it's actually the top floor which is fine because it has a separate door and is completely private we were just worried when we arrived because we saw people downstairs and were worried we booked the wrong night. Once we figured it out everything was great!

In a world of traveling and finding the right place to stay and choosing from a million options, my family and I happened to stumble across this unique property.
Our 1st stay here was in Aug 2016 for a week and let me say, we did not want to leave. To be able to unwind and sit on the front porch drinking our coffee and watching the kids in the neighborhood ride their bikes around and others out on a stroll, it brought back a lot of nastalgia, happiness and the sheer importance of life....family/quality of life.
This charming cottage offers many sleeping options that didn't make us (3 adults, 2 kids) feel like we were walking all over each other (every inch of the place was designed with a flowing and comfortable walkthru of living space).
Parks and trails walking distance as well as groceries, restaurants, shops and great ice cream parlors.
In the evening's you can find yourself enjoying a relaxing bonfire roasting smores, listening to music and indulging in your favorite beverage while looking up and seeing a million stars in the sky.
We have stayed here a couple of times now and will continue to come back as much as we can. The neighbors are absolute genuine people and make you feel like part of the family. This is my 2nd home.
Kathy H.Jan 2017
The house is within walking distance of the library, a large playground, grocery store, and most restaurants. This made it so much easier with kids.
If you're traveling with young kids, bring something to black out the windows in the bedroom- white blinds made nap-time rough.
Symbria P.Nov 2016
Has a great feel, so clean, something a little different, they have thought of everything very well stocked, comfy beds, beautiful bedding and pillows, location is walking distances from everything and just a short drive away for everything else this place is practically perfect in every way!
Nicolle L.Sep 2016
Lovely place! Will stay again in a heartbeat next time we visit Cedar City!
Tessa Z.Aug 2016
This is a very clean, very lovely old home and very cozy for the family. It's about a twenty minute walk to the Festival through the main section of old town Cedar City. This home has the best stocked kitchen I have EVER seen in any rental - our family is big, so we nearly always rent a house as opposed to a hotel so I've seen a few rental kitchens. Lots of fun touches like chalkboard paint on some of the kitchen cabinets so you can write up pending meals and activities. So many stuffed animals for the kids to tote around, many books and windows that open (with screens) to let in those great desert breezes.
Just a few things - for families, like I said, be sure you talk about the large TVs (one of the mounted to a wall in a very small parlor) before you come so that no one damages them. Also, be aware that the rental area is upstairs and above two other units (at least, that's what it looked like). I probably wouldn't have rented it had I realized that just because I don't like to disturb others with the pitter patter of little feet - or indoor games, impromptu dancing and other fun stuff the children concoct that isn't exactly sedate.
Also, and this will only apply to those who might rent in the next few months, most likely (I'm writing this August 2016), but there was A LOT of construction noise during our stay. Something is being built directly across the street and the heavy equipment made a great deal of noise at all hours of the day and night. Early in the morning (like 6am) and late into the night, we had the loud beeping of equipment backing up and the scraping of the machinery doing it's work. This is NOT something the landlord can do anything about. However, it's something to consider if you have babies, toddlers or just anyone who would like to sleep in on their vacation days.
Elisabeth B.Jul 2016
I plan to stay here the same week in July every year for the rest of my life. I can walk to the amazing and spectacular Shakespearean Festival! The grocery store is less than a 60 second walk away. A fantastic children's park and library are less than a 5 minute walk away. A beautifully decorated, fully equipped home away from home. I think it can comfortably accommodate up to 4 people. One bathroom. The only surprise was no dishwasher but with a little thought, the few minutes of hand washing was a nice change of pace.
Nina D.Jul 2016
The house does have a steep stairway upon entering so keep that in mind when packing. Once you pass the stairway you enter a great little house! The owner has truly thought of any and all possible needs. The decor is lovely yet comfortable and inviting. There are good books to cuddle up with for all ages and toys to occupy little ones. There are wine glasses to sippy cups and this combined with the excellent location makes it the perfect choice. It's in walking distance to parks, restaurants, Shakespeare and even a farmers market. If you're in need of a place to stay and want a comfy bed this is the house for you! I look forward to visiting again in the future!
