Inside, this condo is bright, comfortable, and centrally air conditioned. Purnell House is an oceanfront property with an outdoor swimming pool in midtown Ocean City. In this wonderful location, you'll be less than a block from Coastal Highway, which is lined with all sorts of restaurants, shops, conveniences, miniature golf courses, and nightlife. Enjoy easy access to the Ocean City Expressway and the Assawoman Bay Bridge (one block west), such local favorites as Fager's Island (half a mile west) and Seacrets (one mile south), Jolly Roger Amusement Park (two miles south), and the famous Ocean City Boardwalk (two miles south).

I was looking for a quiet place that overlooked the ocean with a fireplace, and this is exactly what I got. The main bedroom surrounds you with views of the ocean while you lay in bed, and the living room has a great wood burning fireplace that was perfect for my December visit. I would stay here again, even though there were some small issues. On my arrival date, there was no building lighting, and I had to walk through the outdoor hallways and use the darkened elevator. I didn't feel safe. The lights came on after a few days, so I'm not sure if there was maintenance going on. The condo is a bit dated, and probably had been left unused for awhile before my stay. It had a musty smell, but some candles took care of that, as did the fresh ocean air. I book condos because I cook often during my stay. This unit had almost everything I needed. Pots and pans, dishes and glasses were all there, however, there were no cooking utensils in the unit. No whisk, no tongs, to flipper, etc. I called Vacasa after my second of four mornings to tell them about this. I had made due with what was available, and while it wasn't a huge problem, I was very disappointed by their response. I was told to spend two more days "making due" and report the missing items on a note that I would turn in with my keys. I had expected that they would try to remedy the problem and bring me the missing supplies at some point during my stay. This issue, along with the dated condo with mildew smell is the reason for my lower rating. Would I stay here again? Absolutely! But I might pack my own cooking utensils?

Please note the home has been resupplied with the cook utensils needed, and the HVAC system was checked for problems. The property has been fresher up to make sure the stale air smell is gone. This place itself was nice. Great view of the ocean. Our major concern was that the kitchen was infested with fruit flies. When looking around we found an old bag of potatoes underneath one of the cabinets that was causing the fruit flies to be around. I sent a message about the issue and the response took until the next day and I'm still waiting to here back from the local manager. This was a huge disappointment for our stay, as we could not even sit and eat or drink anything in the kitchen without being bothered by the flies. I had planned to cook in the kitchen but with all the flies I could not do thay either. I hope this gets taken care of for the next renters and the cleaning is done better. A faster response would have been appreciated as well. This would definitely discourage us from staying here again unless the cleaning was better in the future.

Love the location and pool. However, cost was $1,000 more than 2021, but nothing updated! Furniture door hanging on by 2 hinges instead of 3, bulbs were out but did have replacements quickly, still the old worn couch and wicker chairs! Need new washer and dryer and can’t believe scatter rugs are still there! Really needs to be updated to reflect the cost increase.
