The cabin's beautiful woodwork will be evident as soon as you enter the home. Downstairs, you'll find a family room with a pool table, TV, seasonal wood-burning fireplace, futon seating space, and a built-in mini bar with a refrigerator and wine cooler. Upstairs is the living room, which features another fireplace and TV and a comfy sofa.
This home's gorgeous kitchen will be a hit with chefs and non-chefs alike! With beautiful oak cabinetry, plenty of counterspace, and an open feel, this space will make it simple to prepare delicious family meals. There's also a dishwasher, so while you and your loved ones are enjoying a nice meal inside or outside on the deck, the dishwasher can get a head start on cleanup.
With three bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms, this home can accommodate up to 11 guests - and up to three of your dog family members of course (for a small nightly fee). The first-floor master bedroom includes a king-size bed, along with a flat-screen TV. The two bedrooms upstairs offer two twin beds in one room and three twin beds in the other. Two downstairs futons offer additional sleeping space.
For added convenience, this home offers WiFi and a washer and dryer. The covered front porch and lower back deck are great entertaining spaces. Plus, the upper-level back deck includes a gas grill and seating for six. Enjoy the firepit and the large backyard, perhaps playing a game of fetch with your canine pals.

The home is beautiful upon initial view, but once you really look, there were roaches in the kitchen, and spiders everywhere. The driveway was ridiculous, I could not imagine how someone would be able to drive up it in the rain or snow. The sofa was broken, and the futons that appear in the pictures were not in the home. The back porch railing was broken, and it was very dangerous for my children. We did enjoy our stay, the beds and bedding was very comfortable, and the size was great for our large group, but the house has been run down, and it seems no one is keeping up with it.
We are sad to hear your stay wasn't up to Vacasa standards. We have sent in a new pest control company that has addressed the issues with the bugs and spiders in the home. While the driveway is steep, we do have this information on our site so guests are aware before checking in. The futon and other items in the home were broken by the previous guest that stayed in there; however, we did contact you regarding this prior to your stay and are sorry to see it was so disappointing for you. The furniture since then has all been replaced which is why some of the pictures were not accurate in depicting the current furniture in the home. New pictures will soon be available. The back patio has been repaired, and we do wish you had called about it right away as it was a very fast fix. We do hope to see you again!
The house was clean and spacious; our group of 11 had plenty of room! Also, the area was quiet and relaxing. It would be nice if the furniture (couch and chairs) were upgraded and more seating added. As other reviews have mentioned, the driveway is steep; but we were able to manage just fine. Overall, we would definitely book this house again.
We had a great time staying at Bear's Cove. The steep driveway was just the beginning of a great time. The jacuzzi and pool table kept everyone entertained even when it rained.
Loved that two of the bedrooms had private baths. Gave great privacy for the master bedroom and allowed our 14 yr old her own space.
Really enjoyed our stay here. Only stayed for a short weekend but it was great.
When they say the driveway is steep, they meant to type mounatinous. Once you're up the driveway, the stay is incredible. Terrific hot tub, quality appliances, and you're very close to Helen. Strongly recommend to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.
The couch and Ottoman were discussting! There needs to be upgraded tvs there are no USB ports to connect to anything. Old TV is fine as long as you can hook things up. I was supposed to receive wifi that never happened. I called for it no one ever called me back. The pool table needs serious leveling! You have a checkerboard game with no checkers. You have a dartboard with no darts. The pool table had two old sticks. You can buy sticks anywhere. You have ping pong balls paddles a table and one net!!!! Over all we enjoyed ourselves because we made it work. Please stop advertising things that you do not have or working properly!
The only reason I am not demanding my money back is because we made it work. We were disappointed. Been to better places for alot less! That freaking steep 90 degree angle up is Rediculous!!!!! Couldn't even get all the way up. We had to walk all of our stuff up and back down. I will say the place was clean. The locks to get in was perfect. Again I want to stress you need to get those amenities done!!! That's easy stuff to do. Directions was good. Waze app is best.
We apologize the mentioned amenities were not functioning properly; these items have been brought to the attention of the homeowner so they can be updated quickly. Thank you!
The cabin has an excellent location. Very close to Unicoi State Park and the town of Helen.
The motif of the cabin is very bear friendly and the decorations are just what you would want for a cabin in the woods. Two working fireplaces; one on main level and one downstairs.
Some issues for the owners consideration. Should get direct TV service with full ESPN package especially during any major sports season. TV in master bedroom would not connect to Direct TV and was therefore not of much use.
Some of great room furniture is showing its age and should be replaced. The sofa is not very comfortable and the great room only really has seating for 4 TV viewing, but with limited service with the Direct TV package there is not likely to be much TV watching.
Upgrading to gas logs for the fireplaces would be wonderful!
Nice pool table in the downstairs area but needs leveling and there was no chalk for sticks.
The house is large and could be great with a few modest improvements as suggested above.
We have leveled the pool table and appreciate having that brought to our attention. Thanks!
Fireplace and Fire Pit, but need to be aware no firewood is available on site/ furnished. Driveway is hazardous with inclement weather-very steep incline. Otherwise, nice cabin.
My family and I really enjoyed our time here for our Thanksgiving holiday. The house was perfect for us and we made many wonderful memories.
We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was in great condition, everything worked, and it was very close to downtown Helen.
This is a secluded spot surrounded by woods. Very roomy. Rustic. My family liked it fine, but if you are looking for sleek and up to date, this isn't your place. We enjoyed the pool table and the hot tub. A special treat was a young black bear wandering into the back yard!
We were very excited about out long weekend at Bears Cove however we were very disappointed. The cabin was very difficult to find. GPS is worthless in this area! The driveway was incredibly steep but since the weather was dry we didn't have a problem. If it was raining or icy I don't think we could have made it. Upon entering the house it appeared clean. We were surprised how deceiving the pictures were , this house is Cozy. There was just enough room to walk around the furniture in the living room. It's not an expansive cabin. Also the master is in the basement which was a disappointment. We found that lightbulbs in the living room, outside and on the basement stairs were burned out which made navigating the home treacherous. The response by phone was quick but we had to wait till morning for assistance. My husband changed the necessary lightbulbs himself. The TV in the basement was broken as was the fan in the living room. These items were not replaced or repaired during our stay. Not having the TV was disappointing because we had teenagers that were hoping to play PlayStation down there during our stay. The hot tub never really got hot. Also the kitchen had pots with no lids and worn out frying pans. We had to re wash everything before we used it because the has food on them. There were also lots of insects that I'm pretty sure were roaches. This cabin has potential but it needs some attention. It definitely wasn't worth the 1200 dollars we pair for four days. Watch out for the fees!
We are sorry to see there were some inconveniences and disappointments with this reservation. We do provide driving directions to the home with the check-in information as we are aware that GPS can be unreliable in this area. The hot tub is functioning perfectly, and the owner is currently deciding whether or not to replace the gaming TV. Thanks!
This home accomodated our family wonderfully. Made it a great family vacation/getaway. The location, ammenities were great. Will be coming back for sure for our next get together in the mountains.
Good experience you have to visit the neighborhood...the tubing at Helen and also do some hiking places. It would be one of the most wonderful moments of your life. Wish I could spend more time there
My original cabin I booked was sold a week before my trip. They gave us a worse cabin by the looks of it. The air and heat went out in that cabin and they didn't even offer to pay for the night we sweated and then froze. I will never rent from Vacasa unless they make it right.
We apologize this guest was uncomfortable during their stay. We have been able to fix the problem and wish we would have been notified during this reservation so we could have fixed it for them during their stay.
Great facility! Look forward to returning.
Very clean and nice property; great view and good location
We really enjoyed our stay at Bears Cove. There were plenty of beds to accommodate our guests. Being able to hook up our devices to the stereos upstairs and downstairs was really nice, too. We will definitely be returning in the future.
