Ocean Views & Modern Interior - Close to Rockaway Beach, Dogs OK

With partial ocean views, an expansive covered deck, and all the comforts of home, this charming Rockaway Beach vacation duplex makes a fantastic getaway just across from the sandy shore of Rockaway Beach. Its four bedrooms and two full baths make it easy to share the space with up to 10 guests.

The beach itself is just steps from your door, and six blocks north, you'll find the center of Rockaway Beach with its shops and cafes.

This rental is part of a duplex. If you'd like space for up to 20 guests, you can rent it together with the Boardwalk. If you need more space, you can rent next-door Pacific Avenue as well to have enough room for up to 30 guests.

The sunny upper level boasts a calming atmosphere with colorful artwork to lift your mood. The open great room includes a cozy living area, spacious kitchen, and dining nook - plenty of space for the whole family to gather together and socialize.

The kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots and pans, dinnerware, and serving utensils you'll need to prepare meals for a large group, and includes a dishwasher for easy clean-up. Grab a stool at the breakfast bar for a quick snack, or gather around the four-person dining table by the wide picture windows for a meal with a view. Outside, the deck has a new propane BBQ (propane included) for summer barbecues.

The living area has two cozy leather sofas placed before a brand new flatscreen cable TV with DVD player, so you can enjoy a movie night after a long day's exploration on the beach. There won't be any arguments about the evening's film selection, though, as there are flatscreen TVs scattered throughout the house! If you want to look up movie reviews, sign onto the WiFi.

The master bedroom is on the upper floor, with a gorgeous handcrafted king bed topped with a canopy and a separate sitting area. There is also a full bath on this level.

Downstairs, in addition to the den, are three bedrooms, one full bath, and a laundry room with an industrial grade washer/dryer. Two bedrooms offer plush queen beds, and the third has two sets of twin bunk beds for up to four younger guests. Altogether, 10 guests can share the space very comfortably, and there are plenty of warm blankets, fresh linens, and fluffy towels provided for everyone. You can even bring your dogs for a small nightly fee!

Outside, the lower level has a grassy yard perfect for the canine family members, who may join for a small nightly fee.

Whether you're planning a girls' getaway, a fishing retreat, or just an old-fashioned family vacation, this spacious Northern Oregon Coast vacation rental makes a fantastic home away from home!

1. You are a 5 minute walk to beach access. My elderly mother with a cane was able to walk up and through the beach access without a problem.
2. The house was fully stocked. Beach towels, kitchen utinsels, dishes, bowls, laundry detergent, toilet paper, outdoor grill, kitchen appliances, and trash bags.
3. Very clean and well maintained. Aside from small cosmetic damage, it was a delight to not worry about a smelly or dirty place.
4. Extra amenities, each room except for the bunk bed room has a TV and charging block.
5. The communication and instructions were clear to help us feel like we were well taken care of and helped us understand the expectations to be a good guest.
Thank you!

They give you 1 garbage bag, there was 10 of us there for 5 days and we had to go buy supplies, because you only get 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom as well. You get 5 tide pods for laundry, which is enough I guess for 1-2 nights, but not when you have a baby that threw up on everything and you have to do 3 loads. Also the dryer shakes the ENTIRE house, it's the weirdest thing and very annoying. We slept in the upstairs King size bedroom and it was the worst sleep of our life. The bed is very hard, it killed our backs and shoulders, we both only got maybe 4 hours of sleep each night and woke up in so much pain. We almost didn't stay the last night because we didn't want to sleep in that bed. It is by far the worst bed I have ever slept in anywhere. I would pick a different location just for this reason alone, the rest we're simply annoying but I would never go back because I need somewhere comfortable to sleep.

It's close to the ocean, across from a little food place, across from a weed shop if that's your thing haha. It would be a great place to stay if they had a comfortable bed and stocked with more garbage bags and toilet paper. And looked into that weird dryer thing as well.
Manager response:
We're sorry you were disappointed with the starter pack of supplies we provide. Mattresses are tricky since guest preference varies, but we will keep your comment in mind. Thank you!

The goods:
Decent size living and kitchen area. It was just the two of us and our toddler, but would work for about 6 people.
Some views of the beach.
2 minutes walk to the beach: Can't beat that.
Had sand toys we used, our toddler loved it.

Cons:
For paying $600 a night, they definitely could have done more to make the stay comfortable and cozy.
No salt so we had to run our to the store for salt ...
It needs a good thorough cleaning.
The chairs on the deck are all rusted and gross. We never sat outside, it was not inviting.
The grill was old and dirty. At the least they should replace the wire brush to clean it; I shouldn't have to buy a new one.
Vacasa is stingy with supplies and I wish they changed that. If I am staying 2 nights or 10, they only give you 3 dishwasher pods and 3 washer pods.

Overall, I will rent it again for a lower price. The proximity to beach is amazing.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, Megan. The homeowner is replacing the grill, and we have provided a new wire brush. The chairs are getting replaced as well. We hope to have a chance to host you again!

Amazing stay! We enjoyed the games in the house, walks to the beach, watching h stars, cooking, and taking on the deck. The partial view of the water was great and made it fun for seeing low, high tide, and waves crashing. My kids are teens and this time was precious where are the amenities helped make the moments that more special. Thank you, Jamie

We booked this place at the last minute to get away for a birthday celebration. It was clean, convenient and easy to access the beach. The only feedback was that there wasn’t any soap provided so make sure to bring or buy some.

We had 6 adults, 3 kids and a baby in our group and this stay worked very well for our trip—well stocked kitchen and functional layout. The home is about a 3 min walk to the beach, but there is a small sandy hill you have to walk down for beach access which may be difficult for the elderly. Gorgeous beach with plenty of room for social distancing, and a creek with shallow water running to the ocean which was perfect for young kids. Very close to shops (and everyone we saw was wearing masks inside and most people were masked on the sidewalks.)

Our only complaints on the house are very fixable:
1) porch light was out so really dark in front of the house;
2) there are light blocking curtains in the living room area, but the sliding glass door doesn’t have one. Mid-day, the sun would make it super hot from all the light coming in.
3) The upstairs bedroom and the kids room with bunk beds had only a sheer curtain, so the rooms were super bright as the sun rose. Not conducive to sleeping in.
4) This unit shares an upper and lower deck with another vacation home, and there is no separation between the upper decks. There appears to be a door missing, which made it awkward to use if both parties were outside.

Overall a great stay!
Manager response:
Hi, Amelia! We are so glad to read you enjoyed your stay at Park Place despite some setbacks. The tub has been unclogged; the light on the deck is controlled by the second unit; we are checking with the owner about getting curtains; we are also looking into the deck door. Your feedback is very important to us and will be acted on. Thank you!

The house has a great location and amenities. We rented both sides of the duplex and the connected deck was an added bonus. Well stocked kitchen and bedrooms. WiFi, board games, and plenty of televisions.

The house is very comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked with equipment.
Margaret M. Oct 2018
We loved that the kitchen had everything. A instant pot and crock pot and sharp kitchen knives and coffee grinder. Plenty of dishes etc.
All the plugs worked and were plentiful for our group of 6 crafters.
The main king bedroom is off the kitchen. Beds were comfy and there were plenty of blankets and towels.

Our children and grandkids enjoyed this comfortable and very clean beach house It was a very roomy and relaxing place to stay for all ten of us. A perfect place to celebrate our daughter‘s 40th birthday!
Everyone’s favorite was walking barefoot in the sand and splashing in the waves of the ocean.
Souvenir and thrift store shopping in Rockaway was fun with stops at the ice cream shop.
Another delightful surprise was seeing the old steam engine pass behind the house.
We took a side trip (15 minutes)to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. What delicious cheese and ice cream!

Excellent floor plan. Aunt & Uncle had upper floor king bed, and mom & dad with 2 & 4 year olds on the main floor with room for more. Clean, bright, nicely updated, Very close to beach. Kids loved the train, cool tide pool in Barview, amazing, huge (30 foot) kites at the Kite Festival. Wonderful beach. Six thumbs up!

We really enjoyed our stay. The location worked out great for some downtown access, the beach being right there and cruising up and down 101. The house accommodated our group well as far as bedrooms and linens. It was clean and ready for us when we arrived. My only feedback would be that there were the cooking equipment was old and there were not enough pots and pans to cook for the number of people the house holds - they were all small.
Manager response:
We have updated the pot and pan selection. Thanks!

This was a very nice well equipped and roomy home! Although the view was only partial of the ocean you were still so close you could hear the waves and taste the salt in the air! Not to bash the view because it was still quite pretty at sunset! The master bedroom was absolutely beautiful and I loved that it was separate from the other bedrooms! Can't wait to come back!!!!

Easy walk to ice cream, other stores, and the train ride.

Very clean, with comfortable beds and furniture. Lots of kitchen pots etc.
worked nicely for our family of 3 couples and two young children.
Eric S. Jun 2015
Had a great stay! The home is nicely furnished, comfortable and conveniently just a short walk to the beach. The lay out of the home allowed everyone to gather for meals and offered privacy when we wanted down time. Vacasa staff was extremely helpful on our first night. The home was clean and well cared for. . I had feared the lack of wifi would be an issue for some in my group but I think we all appreciated our time together without the distractions of phones and tablets. Highly recommend this home or Boardwalk, the other half of this duplex home.
Putter S. Dec 2014
Clean and functional for a large group. We had 2 adults and 5 teenagers and the house is set up well for this size group. Short walk to a wonderful beach.
Could use a few updates in the kitchen and with the TV/DVD but believe management is aware and will be addressing these issues.
No internet but overall a good value and we would rent this again.
Margaret M. Aug 2014
The beach was beautiful. An extra bonus was the little creek running through into the ocean. With 4 young great grand daughters along to be able to play in that as well as the ocean was good.

Great rental. House is very spacious with master (with King bed) upstairs, and three bedrooms downstairs (two queens and one kids bedroom with two sets of bunkbeds). House can sleep 10 comfortably, as advertised. Kitchen was great, and includes a breakfast bar with two stools/chairs. Great covered upper deck with partial ocean view. Beach access is directly in front of the house. Nice creek area with lots of wood and seashells for kids to play with. Good area for bonfires at night. Fairly secluded beach with not a ton of people. Great view of the Twin Rocks formation from the beach.
