The home was immaculate, well maintained and well equipped. It was also a very easy walk to the village center and the Apex ski lift. We had rented a car but barely needed it just to take our youngest to school in the morning. I believe there was however also a shuttle. As a suggestion when visiting Solitude (nothing to do with the home) make sure you go grocery shopping before you come up the valley. There really are no decent stores and limited evening restaurant options. Other than that the visit was great. Beautiful home, great skiing and extremely friendly people.

The Honeycomb House has a good location at the base of Solitude. It's not true ski in-ski out, but close enough - about a 5 minute walk to the base of Apex Express.

The house itself is nice, roomy, and in pretty good condition overall. We did have issues with the strange heating system - many different thermostats all running a combination of in-wall blowers and baseboard heaters, and found it difficult to maintain any sort of regulated heat in the house.

Additionally, the bathrooms are pretty old and tattered - not horrible by any means, but not what one would expect when paying as much per night as Honeycomb House costs. All in all, Honeycomb House is in a good location and an alright place, but definitely not worth what is charged on a nightly/weekly basis.

A final thought: there is no recycling offered at the house. This is 2022, and recycling should be a standard.
Manager response:
Hi, Jake! We appreciate your honest and helpful feedback. This home has two heat sources: baseboards in the bedrooms and blow fans in some of the common areas. Most homes in the area do not have central air or air conditioning, so this is what's available for heating. The HOA has been asked to deliver a recycling can. Thank you!

The house is great, perfect with multiple bedrooms. The walk to the ski slope is a little bit longer than with some of the condos, but the house size makes it worthwhile. Great woodburning fireplace. Also, I have to compliment Vacasa. We had a minor incident where the drain to the kitchen sink broke and leaked. Vacasa sent a plumber the next day and got the sink fixed quickly. These things happen, but Vacasa serviced them.

Great fit for two families with room to spare. Easy access to village (we did drive our skis to base). Beautiful view of the ski slopes from the living room. It is an uphill walk from the base/village area but not far. It was nice to have access to the common pool and hot tub as well. The unit was quiet and had comfortable beds.

The Honeycomb House is great. Clean and comfortable, it was the perfect house for two families of four to enjoy a ski vacation. (The epic snowfall didn’t hurt either!) It’s an easy walk to the Apex (or Sunshine) lift and to the village for food, drinks or rental equipment. We’d definitely come back for another stay.
