Recent New Orleans vacation rental reviews

This house was great. It was a perfect size for our group of seven with everyone having plenty of space. The house is decorated very cute with many antiques. The house was clean and lots of fun. Upon arrival, the neighborhood appeared to be in transition with this rental house being different than most of the homes around it. At first we were unable to use the driveway but were happy when we could put both cars off the street. The neighbors were nice and the area was quiet.

I’ve been visiting New Orleans my whole life, so location is key when looking for a place to stay. If you’re looking for a place in the Magazine area, this one is hard to beat. You’re steps from countless shops, bars, restaurants & more. If you’re trying to spend more time in downtown New Orleans, you’re still a quick drive or streetcar ride to the heart of the city. Personally, I find that this area has more than enough to do and see to keep anyone occupied for a couple of days. The home is updated and clean. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is included, like toiletries, coffee, and kitchen accessories if you want to cook (but why would you when you’re so close to some of the best food in the world?). While i was there, the dishwasher was out of service, which wasn’t a big deal for me. If your stay extends past a few days, however, you might want to check that it has been fixed so you can wash your coffee mugs, drinking glasses, etc. I could hear the nextdoor neighbor and their house guest watching TV pretty clearly as soon as I arrived. This will be typical of houses of this age and style, so I don’t fault the owner or neighbor. Luckily, a few minutes after checking in the noise stopped and I never heard a sound through the remainder of my stay. Overall, this location was perfect for what I needed. I would highly recommend this house and will definitely consider renting it again if it’s available the next time I’m in town.

New Orleans neighborhoods and history

To figure out New Orleans, you need an understanding of the city’s various neighborhoods. Perhaps most famous is the French Quarter, the part of town where visitors and locals alike come to see live jazz, feast on Cajun food, and admire historic architecture. The world-renowned Bourbon Street can be found here---a bucket-list destination for partying and people-watching.

Just beyond the French Quarter, you’ll find Bywater and Treme, both historic, residential neighborhoods featuring some of New Orleans’ cutest, most colorful houses and condo rentals. Be sure to bring your camera when you’re strolling these walkable neighborhoods. Treme’s importance to African-American history makes it a culturally significant area, and certainly one worth visiting. Farther south, the Uptown District and Garden District are home to some of the city’s best dining, scenic tree-lined streets, and homey vacation rentals.

Mid-City and the Central Business District are bustling with modern restaurants, bars, and shops. Peruse the Museum of Art and sculpture gardens in Mid-City, or grab a cocktail on a rooftop bar in Downtown.

Things to do in New Orleans

You simply can’t visit New Orleans without trying a taste of the food. Try a culinary tour to get a full sample of gumbo, crawfish, and all things fried---and prepare to indulge in the absolute best in comfort food and bold flavors. The streetcars are also a favorite of New Orleans vacation rental guests: with one of the world’s best streetcar systems, you can step back in time and navigate the city with style.

And who could forget the music of New Orleans? The birthplace of Louis Armstrong, the city has long been known for its prolific artistry. Jazz continues to flourish in New Orleans, as well as blues, punk, and classical music (visit the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra or the New Orleans Opera for a classical treat). Odds are your New Orleans vacation rental is just around the corner from a jazz bar waiting to be enjoyed.

Are you ready to explore the Big Easy? There’s no better way to enjoy your trip than a beautiful New Orleans vacation rental or condo. Book a home and skip the hotel for the true New Orleans experience.
