We loved the architecture of the home, the private access to the beach, the great views.
The house is well placed for the ocean view, well stocked and well desighned. We had a great time! Thank you!
We have stayed at several beach houses along the Oregon coast and this one was by far our favorite. Lots of room inside including cozy places to hang out like the sun room and the loft, plenty of space for all the kids to spread out and play. Everything was impeccably clean when we arrived. The view from the living area, deck ,and master suite is just stunning, and there is a sandy path along the side of the house that gets you straight down to the beach in less than a minute. We enjoyed watching the crabbing boats at night through the telescope. If you forget to bring something it's just a few minutes' drive down the road to the shops in Yachats. Another few minutes past that we enjoyed checking out the Devil's Churn, the Spouting Horn and Thor's Well. Great location and super comfortable house. We will definitely be staying here again!
We absolutely want to return to this very place. It was an ideal setting for us to spend our 57th wedding anniversary. We loved the privacy it provided but loved the friendliness of the staff and patrons of local establishments just as much. Long walks on the beach were especially soothing. Modern advantages of civilization were available when we wanted or needed them, but could just as easily be ignored when we wished. It was as near to perfect as it gets.
Our weekend at Villa al Mar was perfect! We didn't ever want to leave this lovely beach house. We arrived to a lit, warm house with expansive views of the ocean. The house easily accommodated our two families with young children. Their favorite place to play was the loft with its large selection of games and sweet sleeping area. The views from the master bedroom, living and dining rooms were stunning - we watched seals playing just beyond the surf each morning! My favorite place was the sun room - a perfect spot to curl up with a cup of coffee and a book. The kitchen with all new stainless appliances was a treat to cook in and had everything we needed to supplement our provisions. The beds were beautiful and comfortable and moonlight lit our room each night. A private path led directly to a quiet beach where the children played for hours. The proximity to the darling town of Yachats and privacy makes this house a winner for us. Of all of the vacation houses we have rented on the Oregon coast, this one is the best by far. I can't wait to return!
Beautiful property, ugly fees. Would love to stay here again, but not sure if I will.
I don’t want to be too long winded here... This place is perfect! Easy access to a quiet beach. Tucked in the woods to the point you feel away from it all yet you have 101 and Yachats right there. Comfortable beds, great hang out areas, nice deck, well prepared kitchen, everything. Planning on staying here multiple times during the year.
With a few cleaning issues and lights fixed it was a nice place to stay. The oven is inadequate for cooking for 8 people. We managed but it really needs a full size stove. Has a full size fridge and kitchen other than the oven. If all the issues we mentioned are fixed, we would recommend this place for sure. It beautiful with a great view.
We appreciate this feedback. The oven is a standard size; we apologize if this was difficult to work with. The lights have all been fixed. Thanks!
This house was a little big for the three of us but we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed our stay
Home is in a good location, quiet, good view, and well appointed. Gorgeous deck and windows facing the sea, shag carpeting is kinda groovy. Bedding was comfortable.
We could not watch Netflix because the TV kept dropping the signal - this happened all three nights we were there, rendering it completely unwatchable and the internet unreachable. There was no DVD backup system in place, which there should be (we'd brought DVDs and could have watched those instead). There were insufficient large bowls for cooking and food storage. Would have been nice to have a French press; otherwise well- stocked with cooking gear. The oven was apparently new. When we turned it on it filled the house with toxic fumes (burning plastic plus welding materials?). It took an hour and a half to get it to dissipate enough to use the oven.
We left the property at 8:30am on checkout day. I received a phone call around 11am out saying "Why haven't you checked out, what is the problem, why are you still there, the housekeeper cannot get in..." It was pretty horrifying, as I had driven hours away by then and for all I knew some strangers were in the house doing who-knows-what. This was my first experience with vacasa; not sure I will do this again.
