Oceanfront, dog-friendly home w/ stunning views & nearby beach access
This stunning two-bedroom Yachats vacation rental boasts gorgeous ocean views, a beautiful and luxurious interior, and dog-friendly accommodations.
This home is on a cliff with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean just seven miles south of Yachats. Stonefield Beach State Wayside and Heceta Head Lighthouse are about a quarter of a mile south for stunning beach access, whale watching, or a tour of the lighthouse during the summer months. Hop in the car for a blissful coastal drive along Cape Perpetua, check out Devil's Churn, or choose one of the many beautiful hikes or mountain bike rides nearby!
Spend your days out on the patio, enjoying the ocean view or, in winter, watching a dramatic storm in the stunning living room.
This classically designed space features tall ceilings and a breezy beach-style that will have you feeling right at home from the moment you step inside. This home has lots of room to spread out and relax over 1,800 square feet.
Spend evenings snuggled up while enjoying views of the starry sky from the huge wall of windows. In addition to the DVD player, you'll also find a collection of movies to pick from - there's no need to pack any from home when you stay here.
In the morning, watch the waves roll in while you sip coffee. If the weather is dry, take your mug out to the patio where you can enjoy the full experience with the sounds of the ocean and smell of the air. Take a seat on the bench and look out over the cliff - this is one of the best views on the coast!
From this Oregon Coast vacation rental, you can put together a home-cooked meal in the updated and modern full kitchen. There's ample counter space for chopping vegetable or rolling out dough, and aside from all the basic major appliances, you'll also have slow cooker, coffee grinder, and waffle iron. And of course, while you cook or bake, you'll have more lovely ocean views right out the windows.
Upstairs, there is a wonderful library and work area. Come up here with an afternoon mug of tea, find a quiet spot, and spend a rainy afternoon reading. From here, there are more ocean views - there's even a telescope for looking at the stars on clear nights or watching for migrating whales. And if you need to do any work, you'll also find a desk where you can set up your laptop and use the WiFi to connect to the office. Other amenities include a stereo, collection of board games, and a washer and dryer.
This Yachats getaway's two bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house, so there is a lot of privacy for up to four people. The spacious and elegant master bedroom has a queen bed, coordinated furnishings, and a small sitting area. With this beautiful space to retire to in the evening, you may find yourself looking forward to bed at the end of the day. The attached bathroom has a jetted tub, pedestal sink, and ocean views - with an additional walk-in shower.
The second bedroom has a day bed with a trundle (two twin beds) - perfect for one to two occupants. In addition, two dogs are welcome for a small nightly fee (dogs must be leashed when outside). It's away from the hustle and bustle location is perfect for a romantic retreat or a quiet family vacation.
This home is perched above the beach on a cliff, so it is required that dogs be kept on a leash at all times and small children are watched carefully. This area just south of downtown Yachats is also prime habitat for the endangered Oregon Silverspot Butterfly and in recent years, violets and other nectar plants have been added to this area to encourage population growth. As you're out walking around, keep an eye out for these delicate orange-spotted butterflies.
For beach access, head a quarter of a mile south to Stonefield Beach State Wayside. Here, there's a stretch of sandy beach great for combing, walking with the dogs, or watching for whales.
When you want to head into town for a latte at the Green Salmon Coffee and Tea House or a burger and some live music at The Drift Inn, it's a short seven mile drive north. The drive passes by Neptune State Scenic Viewpoint and Cape Perpetua, so be prepared to pull over and ohhh and ahhh over the majestic views. Closer to home, you can explore the Heceta Head Lighthouse. Currently the site of a B&B, this supposedly-haunted Oregon Coast landmark also includes an interpretative center, lighthouse tours, and a gift shop - a great afternoon excursion just minutes from your getaway.
*Please note: The fireplace in this home is no longer operable.
Plan stay at this beautiful Central Oregon Coast vacation home for peace and tranquility.
Perfect location, always clean. Nice furnishings.
Wonderful small home with great view of the oceans. Perfect for a quiet retreat.
The home was a great location on beautiful property. You really can't beat the view! The property is on a steep cliff right by the super busy highway, so if you have pets and small children you really can't relax outside, but inside was great! We loved being in a house with our dogs and kids, much more comfortable for vacationing! The only complaints we had were the overflowing trash outside that was blowing all over the property and the kitchen could've been cleaned a little better, especially for the price of the cleaning fee. The garbage disposal was full of glass and not working and the stovetop grill in the kitchen was caked with old burnt food that could've easily been scrubbed off prior to our visit. The home was comfortable for our family of 4 and we would definitely stay here again!
We appreciate having these matters brought to our attention and apologize they were present. The kitchen cleanliness has been taken care of by housekeeping, and we have fixed the garbage disposal. We have also scheduled a more routine pick-up of trash. Thank you!
Wonderful views very cute ..
We really enjoyed our stay. The only issue we had was that the fireplace didn't work.
Beautiful home. Very clean, well-kept, and comfortable.
Great home for one couple or small family - spectacular ocean views & close to beaches & hiking trails but no beach access directly from home. Only 7 miles to Yachats for several great dining options.
Liked the place. I really idon'thave any complaint. Would have liked to get to the beach directly from the house instead walking /driving for 1/2 or 1/3 of a mile. Yet, not too inconvenient.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house and property are beautiful and private. Very peaceful and restful! There are lots of wonderful beaches close by. We also enjoyed the lighthouse and the sea cave.
We found a squeegie in the laundry cupboard to clean the windows so we could enjoy the beautiful view! Fog and mist blowing off the ocean cloud the windows.
Great house if you want to be right on the water but also want privacy. Yachats is a short drive away and the views from the house and around the area are amazing.
We got away on a whim, and were excited to find this house. The house is nice, we have no complaints about the house itself. My main complaint is that I am a light sleeper, and the traffic was very audible outside the bedroom windows. Also we were excited to be "on" the beach, but there is no beach access from the house. We loved the sitting bench, and watching the beach from there, but would have liked beach access without getting in our car. We did walk down the road once for beach access, but it was worrisome as the traffic roared past, so I wouldn't recommend that , especially if you have children!
The house was clean, well equipped, and would be a perfect place to "hold up" in a storm.
Minor malfunctions but overall a very clean nice place. Road noise can get on your nerves at night but the view/location beautiful !!
The house is beautiful; a perfect blend of modern structure and antique furniture pieces. The bathtub was very relaxing and there is a large selection of books on hand. Although there are two parking spaces, parking was still a little awkward for our full size king cab truck, so be sure that are cautious when parking. It's close to the highway, but noise really wasn't a factor; it didn't bother us at all. The view is to DIE for and Peter Cottontail came to visit us every morning right off the back porch. So if you bring a pet friend with you and they wake you up early in the morning barking, they're just saying hi :-)
Loved this place,if you like a private place to read, write, watch moves, or listen to music, & be left alone, with a beautiful view, & a awsome house. I would like to stay at The point of view again, next winter, so Peaceful! Everything I needed was there.
Nice bright house, great, isolated location. Perfect for a retreat .

This home has a great view, A nice patio and a wonderful soaking tub.
It's a little difficult to find in the dark and there is no cable so entertainment is limited to the DVD's on hand.
Overall it's a very relaxing getaway and I would rent it again.
Nice place, the view is unbelievable, the only drawback is how close you are to the highway.
My friend & I enjoyed the house. The view of the ocean was spectacular! It was very comfortable and would stay there again.
Lovely place . Best tide pools. Short walk to ocean. Enjoyed the Openness of the place. Will stay again. Will ask about the fireplace next time. Company very efficient with info to help you feel prepared for your stay.
Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay on the beach!
Great place, comfortable and cute. Just VERY expensive for such a tiny house that doesn't even have walkable beach access. It was the only place available for such short notice, and I loved the experience and the home. But I simply will not be rebooking this home because of the expensive price. The home itself seems to be priced somewhat fairly, but it's the fees they charge that are pretty ridiculous.
This place was great. located just 4 miles south of town. Close to lots of costal sites. Sea lion caves, devils churn, etc. Florence is also not far either. We brought our dog with us and every thing was super easy and clean. The upstairs loft was very cool. Lots of space to spread out. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location; well maintained house. Lovely 2nd floor space that allows you to either "work" (2 desks) or spread out and read a book.
We enjoyed our stay in the home very much.. It is very close to HWY 101 and the
bank in back is steep.. no access to the beach.. but you can hear the ocean and
the house was nice and clean.. For us.. being older it would have been nice
to have cable hook up of some kind .. but plenty to do to keep busy.. Thank you
so much for allowing us to stay in your home.
If you want to stay in a place where you have no contract with the outside world this is a spot for you. The spot would be ideal for a couple with young children ... Although the cliff in front is very steep..so keep your loved ones close. We were looking for a romantic getaway...THIS IS NOT GEARED TOWARDS romantic getaway...There was no working wifi..no cable..Home phone doesn't allow you to make calls..no cell reception.Vacasa came to the rescue and we are were so pleased .They addressed the situation and we moved to a new location with no delays..THANK YOU VACASA!!!!!!
Our stay in the Point of View House was splendid, although finding it might be tricky- The address is listed as Yachats on the website, but it's actually in the next county south, and a Florence address.
Upon our arrival, the power was out because of a windstorm. We called Donna & Jessica with Vacasa who were very sympathetic to our situation and had the facilities manager (Cliff) drop what he was doing (on a Sunday night!) and direct us to another more expensive Vacasa property in town to spend the night until the power came back on- No extra charges, no hassles.
We had planned on having a cozy vacation inside hoping on stormy weather, and we were not disappointed. Although a working fireplace would have completed the cozy factor, we had read other reviews indicating it was likely still out of commission.
The upstairs library is the ideal place to read a book (supplied, or bring your own) and look out at the waves while you draw, or catch up on work.
The kitchen is adequate, the coffee maker was a blessing, and the bed was comfy!
Don't plan on walking to the beach from the house, it is a cliff- but it is an extremely short drive north to a small parking lot for beach access.
If you have lots of movies loaded on your laptop, be aware that the TV is older style, with no HDMI or VGA hookups- but you are at the coast - go enjoy the beach and eachother's company! Embrace the limited cell coverage & read a book!
We will stay here again.
It's about a 20 minute drive to Yachats, so get your groceries & gas to save a bunch of back & forth trips.
Rest assure that this house and the staff will make it a pleasant trip!
It’s so great to hear that you had such a wonderful time staying with us. We are happy that you were able to experience all that this wonderful home has to offer and appreciate you letting us know about the fireplace. It was out of propane during your stay and is now fully functional for our guests to enjoy. We are excited to have you back soon!
The house is right off 101 and though I seen a lot of reviews saying the traffic was loud it didn't bother us at all. The house feels secluded and away from everything even though it's not far from town. We didn't have cell service and I was 100% okay with that, the house phone worked and I gave the number to a family member incase we needed to be reached and enjoyed the quiet weekend away from it all. My favorite part of this trip was sitting upstairs with the windows open reading a book and enjoying the beautiful view. I can't wait to stay again
Very cute house right off the 101. The property is very well kept - both floors of the home are beautiful, clean, smell nice, offer comfortable furniture & lighting, and amazing views of the ocean. The Wi-Fi was dependable. Excellent location, and far enough from the neighbors so that it feels like you have your own, private space. The highway noise was not a bother at all to me. I do wish that the fireplace worked for us during our stay, it was either broken or out of service. It would have been great if it were available to use during the rainy evenings. But, even without it - everything was lovely. Would definitely stay at The Point of View again!
A lovely home with a fantastic view of the ocean. Convenient to many attractions of the Oregon Coast.
Beautiful location, nice looking house. But freezing when we arrived. Had a circuit breaker out, but the breaker box was inaccessible, and made it so there were no lights to the entry of the house. or entryway. Phone was set up so that outgoing calls were blocked. Including to the property managers. Property is a cliff face, and the bench in the picture is destroyed.
We would like to apologize for the disappointments and inconveniences you experienced during your stay. The Property Manager has addressed the electrical issue, and we will look into the landline to see if it can be made accessible for guest use.
loved every aspect of our 3 nights at this property. We'll be staying again. The amenities including wifi were outstanding and we were left not wanting a thing. Thank you!
The house was neat, but the location to the busy street meant that sleeping was difficult. So loud! Also the fridge had a very high pitched humming the entire time.
My family and I stayed two night at the View Point and had a great time. While there is Wi-Fi you are unable to make calls from cell and the house phone does not allow long distance calls. The house does have everything you need so no need to bring stuff but it is really close to the hwy and can hear every car that goes by.
We had the best time. What an amazing home, perfect to rest, cook and to chill. Love the view and the house is located right on the oceanside!!!!!
If you love tons of windows and views of the ocean, then this place is for you. The open floor plan was perfect for my family. Access to the ocean was easy, although not on the property. It's located far enough out of town yet close enough for a quick errand. The accommodations are well represented in the photos. Vacasa was very responsive, they even had someone meet us at the property to ensure everything was to our satisfaction.
We enjoyed our stay at this location - especially being able to see whales offshore every evening with the binoculars. The furnishings were very comfy, modern and clean. Plenty of great books to read in the loft. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with all the pots/pans and dishes that a family would need. The gas fireplace does NOT work, which was very disappointing to us since it was cold outside. Overall, this is a nice place to stay in a great location.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay here! The local staff has been notified about the fireplace and will get right on it. Thank you very much for the feedback, we appreciate the heads up on things like this!
Very clean, bright, open house. The view out the back/from the cliff gorgeous. No (or maybe just no easy) direct access to beach from house, but parking lot just down road does have access and this is very easy to get to. Right off Highway 101 (literally), so there is the noise from highway traffic, but this is not too bad considering the distance. Kitchen is totally adequate with enough utensils/pots/pans, etc. to make an at home meal. Comfortable bed, nice large tub, good water pressure for showers. About a 15 minute drive from downtown Yachats, which is a really pleasant town with good food, live music, bars with pool tables, excellent fish and chips, and a decent general market. It's a really pleasant stay.
This house has breathtaking views of the ocean and is beautifully decorated. It is located between Yachats and Florence. There is no cell phone service but we enjoyed watching DVDs, and there is internet service. Be conservative with water if you want a hot bath! We did not sleep well due to traffic passing close by the house during the night. However, we enjoyed the privacy of the location as the house sits on a good size lot with thick brush separating it from the neighbors. It is not suitable for children or pets as it is not fenced and sits on a cliff with no beach access. I would recommend this house for a romantic getaway for couples.
This is a cheerful, bright and clean beach home with an ideal location for exploring the 'Gem of the Oregon Coast'. Gorgeous view! Whale watching from the upstairs library. This is the first coast rental in nearly 20 years of visiting, that was NOT moldy, musty, dark and problematic.
Do note; the kitchen is quite small, and if you are planning to cook real meals, you will have to bring your own chef knives, sauce pans, hot pads, a pot to boil water in and any cooking utensils you commonly use. There is only one tiny table for two adjacent to the cooking area.
The house has nice space from neighbors and an incredible view - but the back door is just a few feet from HWY 1, and is located atop a cliff overlooking Stonefield beach (no direct access) so beware for any young children (duly noted in the description). The trundle bed/ guest room is fine for young children.
The property description on Vacasa is a bit overzealous in describing it as "luxurious", but it is quite pleasant. We highly recommend bringing your own bed linens.
We are glad to hear that you were happy with your stay, and we appreciate you providing pointers for our guests so that everyone might better enjoy their time in the home. Thank you for choosing Vacasa!
Point of View enjoys a great location. Furnishings and entire layout are exceptional and a welcome change to what you usually encounter in coastal lodging. Vacasa staff (Donna and Ted) were polite, professional and immediately responded to our requests/inquiries.
