Mountain home w/hot tub, breathtaking views, near hiking & fishing

Perched at 9250 feet on a beautiful ridge of the San Juan Mountain Range, between Montrose and Gunnison, this lovely home awaits. Nestled near Blue Mesa Lake and Black Canyon, this private community adjoining BLM land provides endless possibilities of four-wheeler riding, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, camping, and inspirational views.

Knock-out mountain views greet you the moment you walk in the door. In fact, the expansive view includes not only the mountains but the valley and stream below. Large windows and multi-level decks outside show the views to their best advantage. Some standout features of this home include a master suite; a great room encompassing kitchen, dining area, and living area warmed by a wood-burning stove; a reading den; and a laundry room all on the main floor. You will find two spacious bedrooms with their own full baths and a unique loft on the second level. The family room in the walk-out basement boasts beautiful barn wood doors, a large TV, and a Ping-Pong table. The home has three large bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms. A separate study for quiet reading, writing, or meditation. There is a full utility room with a washer/dryer along with two living areas that both offer Hi-Def TVs.

This unique cabin has everything you could want. Peaceful, beautiful, and relaxing. Tastefully decorated, comfortable beds and easy access make this a jewel in the forest. Although the nearest grocery store is about 40 minutes away, the local Arrowhead Mountain Lodge carries those last minute staples and provides wonderful meals, entertainment, and a bar after a long day of fishing, horseback riding, four wheeling, hiking, kayaking, or lounging on the dual level deck of this home.

Part of the Arrowhead Ranch community. We are across the street from the beautiful Hazel Lake with a walking/bike path, and lots of wildlife. There are three private lakes in the community for fishing no license required in those areas. Four wheelers ride directly from your front door to hundreds of miles of trails on public lands. Bring your own machines, and ride at your own risk. Arrowhead Mountain lodge provides summer music and outdoor dancing most weekends. Also close by is Blue Mesa Lake (bring your boat, kayak, etc), Black Canyon, and the Marrow Boat Tour through the Canyon. Crested Butte and Telluride are within a one-to-two-hour drive. Lake City, Gunnison, Ouray, Ridgeway, Silverton, and other mountain Towns are waiting to be explored. The beautiful Big Blue Campsite is accessible via four-wheeler or four-wheel-drive and is a Colorado hiking trailhead.

Beautiful home with gorgeous views, fresh mountain air, and a great hot tub. I would recommend for anybody looking to get away. This is about 45 minutes from a town, so plan ahead for groceries. We ate at the nearby Arrowhead Mountain Lodge, and the food was amazing! We had an unforgettable weekend here.

I will start with all the pros on this a property. It's such a great area. Very beautiful. The view from property is a million dollar view. The set up of the cabin is excellent. Even though there was only 2 adults in our group, there is room for a large group. Great bathrooms & bedrooms upstairs. Fun game area with large tv in basement area that opens up to the bottom deck. Such great features. The kitchen Is Very well equipped-excellent. On all the pros, I would give a 5 star!!! Cons: cleanliness. Even though when you 1st walk in the cabin it appears clean, but as you start living in it, you start noticing that it needs a good scrubbing, cobwebs hanging from the dining room light fixture. Cobwebs around The ceiling area. Needs a major good cleaning. The biggest disappoint was the hot tub. It was disgusting. Since on the itemized part of our bill, we noticed there was a hot tub fee. Then we were unable to get in it because of the cleanliness of it. When we pull back the hot tub cover there were bottle lids laying on the edge so the hot tub. It had no attention before we arrived. Water looked (I say icky, my husband called it murky) I would give cleanliness, a 3! I would love to rent this cabin again (& would love to see others rent it too because you would have to look far & wide to find a place as beautiful) but it would be in the best interest of the cabin to do some major cleaning on it. And seriously, if you have a hot tub especially with a hot tub fee, clean it so every new group can enjoy it & the beautiful views it has to offer
Manager response:
We are sorry to see our guest was not completely happy with their rental. We have followed-up with housekeeping, and we do have a new hot tub provider that will be caring for the tub. Thank you!

We really enjoyed ourselves. House was beautiful, clean, and stocked. We had plenty of space for my family and friends, who were visiting from overseas. Very relaxing and bonus seeing deer in the yard. Hot tub was great and deck was a perfect spot for star gazing. Nice drive to Black Canyon. I guess my only warning for future renters would be the home is 5 miles down a dirt road. The road is nicely mantained so we didn't have any issues. Just thinking it may be a problem in winter for those who do not have the right cars/tires.
