We loved the Thunderbird Chalet! It was perfect for our family of 5 adults (including our two dogs). It’s a great location—close enough to the lake and village to drive in just under 10 minutes but far enough away to feel secluded and be able to relax out on the deck and feel like you’re alone in the forest. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. There were a few little issues when we checked in, and while someone couldn’t come out until the morning (to turn on the hot water) the local contact called us back quickly about our concerns even though it was after hours, which we appreciated. Every utensil/appliance you’d need is supplied in the kitchen, but unfortunately the dishwasher was out of order when we arrived which we would recommend checking about beforehand just so you know if you should bring paper plates/utensils if you want to avoid having to hand wash. Also, the dart board was not in the house during our stay but the foosball table was there. All-in-all we’d definitely come back!
Manager response:
Hi, Elizabeth! We appreciate you taking the time to tell us about your stay and apologize for the disappointments you encountered. The hot water was working upon inspection; we are sorry to see you experienced any difficulty with it during your visit. The dishwasher is out of order and will be repaired soon. We will be updating the listing to reflect the dartboard is no longer available. Thank you for staying with us!

It's a great getaway for the weekend. The house feels a lot bigger in person, very spacious. The only thing we kept having problems with was the wifi it was cutting out alot, but I guess that's what you get considering your way up in the mountains. Other than that it was clean, fun to stay in and would definitely be staying here again.

The home was cozy and comfortable. Only reason I gave 4/5 stars is because the rugs were dirty and could not be used. The floor and counters also needed to be cleaned a little better, but it wasn’t too uncomfortable. Everything else was perfectly fine and the jacuzzi bath tub and outside hot tub were wonderful. Will still definitely rebook.
Manager response:
Hello Alohalani, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize that the home was not up to the standard of cleanliness that we hold ourselves too. We have notified the local team to address this. We do hope you will give us another chance to impress you in the future.

Loved this place. So cozy and lovely. Big beautiful home. My friends and I enjoyed this place very much. My only concerns (not negative just pointers to advise) this house offers stay up to 10 people but only room for 2 parking spaces. I think for the size of the place and amount of people it offers it should have room for more than 2 cars. You can’t park on the street and the nearest hotel to park the extra vehicles is 10 min away (and you run risk of tow if hotel staff see you parking there). I saw Residents around did park on the street, but when we did that the city HOA was called and a knock at the door came soon after, I had no issue with it, it’s a rule we have to respect although this parking situation should be advised so people know before booking this place. And my other pointer would be better Wifi service. There was ZERO cellphone signal because this is up a mountain and the WiFi was horrible here. If we had a medical emergency it would have been difficult to call emergency services or get in touch with anyone. Other than these two things I loved my stay here. Planning to maybe re-book this house near the holidays.
Manager response:
Hello Yolanda, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We apologize, in the mountains, cellphone and internet services are not always great as there is a lack of towers. The HOA does control the number of cars that can be parked at the home and does not allow non-residents to park on the street. We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused during your stay. We do hope you will allow us to host you again in the future.

We were pleasantly surprised to see that the house was just like the pictures. It was lovely and in a great location. We had a lovely time, and it was perfect for our family. We only gave it 4 stars because there were a couple of things that were minor, but could have made the stay perfect. First, the internet went out often due to the weird configuration of the system. It was old tech and needed to be reset often. You could only stream on the downstairs tv and the DVD player did not work. Thank God we brought our Chromecast or we would not have been able to watch anything (which would have been horrible with our toddler). The upstairs game room TV did not work either. A small thing, but annoying, we didn't know what day was the trash day, so it didn't get picked up, leaving the can overflowing by the end of the week. Overall, though, it was lovely and we really enjoyed ourselves.
Manager response:
Thank you for your feedback, Amy! We will address your comments about the internet and DVD player with the local staff. We hope to host you again soon! Thank you!

We had a very good time staying in this home. It had a panoramic view of the forest that we could enjoy from the patio deck. The furnishings inside and outside were upgraded and luxurious. We would definitely come back to Thunderbird Chalet the next time we go to Lake Arrowhead.

I highly recommend it. Awesome place. We will come back for sure, and we will stay longer (maybe another day or two). It’s beautiful, you’ll love staying there. It’s super clean, they have new towels, clean linens, everything is clean and lovable.
