Private beach home on Gulf of Mexico allows you to social distance yet enjoy strolls with your “quaranteam”. Everything you need, that’s not in your beach bag, is included @ Longboard. Recommend bringing your own food umbrella and beach chairs🕶⛱

We loved our week long stay at The Longboard house!! It was exactly what we were looking for and loved the hot tub, paddle board, bikes, and kyake that were included. The house had everything we needed and more. We will be back!!

We had a wonderful week at Longboard! The house was so clean and had everything we needed! The beach was steps from the door and we spent all day watching the dolphins play as we built sandcastle and relaxed!

My husband and I have stayed at Longboard twice - it is spectacular. The home is situated in the sand on stilts, 50 feet from the water. The experience is really cool. With its large decks, and windows that open onto the deck looking out to the gulf, cares are forgotten quickly. You are immediately immersed in gorgeous views of the gulf and bay FROM the kitchen/living room. Sunrises and sunsets here are some of the best on the planet, and we have traveled around the world. Dauphin Island, a little sliver of land, provides interesting daily changes in landscape - each day, a new treasure (shells, shells, shells) shows up on the beach in front of you. Abundant wildlife: birds and island foxes. Beach in front is private for the houses right there. The West End public beach and miles-long preserve is 3 houses down, where endless walks on the beach can be done without being near people. For those who don’t want to get sand on their feet, there's a wrap-around deck, at beach level, to chill. And of course, there is an outdoor shower there - perfect after a walk or playing on the beach. We end our days star gazing from the hot tub on the top deck. PERFECT. Home is very clean and has everything you would want. Well-stocked kitchen for cooking meals. Coffee maker. TV. Fresh white linens, towels and blankets in ample supply. Recommended on the island: Skinners Seafood. Lighthouse Bakery…you’re welcome. Pirates. Pack store that has everything (food, alcohol, flip flops, sunblock): it is convenient but a little pricey. Audubon Bird Sanctuary. If you haven’t been to Dauphin Island, the experience starts with the over-bay bridge. By the time you turn right onto Bienville Blvd, headed out amidst the beach houses to Longboard house, you will be hooked. It’s awesome.

Great house with plenty of room!

I love where the house sits on the beach, the amount of space that we have on the beach, and the extra amenities that the owner provides. ( paddle board and kayak)

My family really loved having our own private beach. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The owner provided lots of toys for us to use in the water which was nice. The island has several small places to eat which we enjoyed. The only problem we had was the size of the refrigerator. With a large group of family it is nice to have cold drinks. The space in the house refrigerator is only large enough to hold food. We had to have coolers on the deck to keep beverages in. Each day we went out to purchase ice for the coolers. This got expensive. Other wise the place is very nice and we would return.

Amazing proximity to the beach. Nice clean house. Quiet setting.

The location of this house is amazing! Very modern house. Only negative I have is the refrigerator is too small!

House was excellent , loved the beach access

This house was great and met all of our needs. We were right on the water and spent many late nights fishing. This house is walking distance to the public beach at the West end And we spent a full day walking and fishing along the bay side, catching trout, grunts, and too many cat fish. We had dolphins come up very close to where we were...pretty cool. If we ever come back to Dauphin Island we would definitely stay here again.

It is a great house in the best location. The only things that would have made it better is a privacy shower to rinse off after swimming and playing on the beach and a good door mat to wipe the sand off your feet before entering the house. Otherwise it is a great house.

Step off the deck into clean, soft sand, Gulf side! Very private, yet steps from the public beach at West End for long walks in the morning, sunsets at night.

The location of this house is wonderful, at the end of the beach, quiet, close walking distance to the public beach. The unit was in excellent condition, very clean, well stocked, loved the layout. The decks are small, especially the lower level one. We read in one review that bikes were available, but we did not have any, however there was a kayak and paddleboard. The major negative of the unit is no outside lighting at night. We did not realize this when we left in the morning and did not return until after dark. I actually tripped on a piece of blacktop that was in the sand. Also, it would be easier to get to the unit if a path was cleared through the sand.
Manager response:
Hi Don, I really appreciate your feedback and I'm very sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your stay. Longboard has motion sensor lights on the beach house, but the direction of the lights are adjusted for both safety and for sea turtle conservation efforts. I will check that the lights are working properly and readjust as needed. Additionally, most paths that are man made are only temporary on the west end of the beach and the sandy terrain changes weekly, if not daily. I will note this in our description so future guests are aware of their sandy path to the door. Again, thank you for your comments.

This was our first beach house. I absolutely loved the island and how close the Beachhouse was to the ocean. We had plenty of room on the front side of the house and the back side for the kids to play. We enjoyed the paddle Board and kayak greatly. The house was stocked full of games and dishes and was very well-kept and clean.

From beginning to end, this vacation was fantastic. Booking online, ease of communication, promptness of services and quality of product. My family and I were very happy with the home! The cleanliness of the home on arrival was amazing(I am very particular about hygiene)! Location, location, location! Morning walks on the beach and ending with crab hunting at night- perfect destination! ( No jellyfish!) The kids loved the wakeboard, paddle board, beach toys and bikes that are with the home- that was a great surprise!!! Two outdoor areas to rinse off the sand were well planned. The kitchen was well thought out and stocked with many items to make the week flow easily. Dining/living area were perfect for a crowd!!! Of course the two decks were amazing! Privacy and views were incredible! The game closet was so thoughtful- we stayed to busy to utilize any movies or games but having them just in case was nice. The beds, mattresses and linens were of good quality and no one complained of not getting a good nights sleep!
Can’t say thank you enough for a memorable vacation!
God bless!!!

The Longboard was an amazing retreat for our family of 13. We loved the remote aspect of the House and the Island itself. The house was outfitted with many amenities that we didn’t expect like paddle board and kayak! The location was amazing with your own private beach. We were completely satisfied and are considering making it an annual event provided our family doesn’t grow any bigger. Do yourself a favor and pick this place for your next vacation!

Our family of 6 adults and 5 kids had a blast here! Some of the family never left the property because we enjoyed it so much! We didn’t have a DVD player upon arrival and had some WiFi problems but the office fixed that ASAP for us! They also brought a new bike to the house which was perfect because we were wanting to ride bikes! Loved every minute of it! Perfect! Except for the gnat bites! Be sure to bring bug spray!

Great home, amazing location, peaceful island, and much more. This is a perfect getaway to Dauphin Island. The rental process was super easy from initial reservation all the way through departure. We will definitionally be back!

We had a wonderful time with our crew of 9 at the Longboard! The home was equipped to make us feel right at home. We have been to a variety of beach homes and this one was definitely the closest to the water. The shell hunting and wildlife were fantastic. What a fun week. We plan on going back.

Spent 7 days relaxing. So close to the beach and played with the dolphins everyday
