Home was clean and well decorated. There were 2 areas to lounge in downstairs. A more formal room with the dining table for 8 and a more casual room with reclining sofa, chair with ottoman, an arcade game, and a big tv to stream your favorite movies and shows on. Kitchen was nice, only thing I’d recommend is bring zip loc bags if you have leftovers (they did have containers to use, but can’t bring those home), and a sheet pan for the oven. There was a small broiler pan to use. Also downstairs is a laundry room and half bath.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with tv and attached bathroom, and 2 guest rooms. One room with one bed and the other with 2 bunk beds. There is another bathroom at end of hall. Only thing I’d recommend to owner is I forgot my hairdryer so having one in the home would be helpful. I’d also recommend that there be extra pillows and a tv in the guest rooms at least with the one with bunk beds. The kids need a space they can watch their own shows or hook up their video games. Other than that it was an easy check in and check out process and we would definitely book this home again!

We stayed the last weekend of August 2020. We arrived at 4:00 to a very hot house. No air conditioning in the house. One ceiling fan in the cathedral ceiling of the front sitting room. It’s too high to do much good. No ceiling fans in bedrooms. Luckily, I brought my oscillating fan, but the rest of our family did not. The master bed and second bedroom beds were very hard. I like firm, but we could not sleep because it was so hard. The 3rd bedroom only had bunks. The kitchen was poorly stocked for cooking. Little to no cookware or bakeware. There is a coffee pot and a blender, no other small appliances. No cooking utensils beside one big spoon, a spatula, and cutting knives were in a wood block. No foil or plastic wrap, so make sure you bring everything needed for cooking. Dishes, plastic tumblers, cups and flatware were provided. No wine glasses. My son reported a problem with the video game console. The one player button didn’t work. The nearest neighbors had loud music playing on their outside deck on both Friday and Saturday nights until after 10:30. The music started again early the next morning. Another neighbor had young kids up early in the morning screaming The house could be cleaner. The kitchen had grease splatter on the stove from previous renters. Dirty carpets. The upstairs showers weren’t clean, and the slider window on the deck was dirty from previous renter’s dogs. The house is pet friendly, but the backyard isn’t fenced. The deck has a small fence, but the gate latch was broken. This could be a nice place to stay, but we were not comfortable. For the price, we were disappointed.
Manager response:
Sharon, Thank you for your review! We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our home and are sorry about the lack of cleaning. Please note our 24-hour customer service line is here to assist at all times and would have sent someone over to clean. Thank you again for your review. We hope to host you again soon!

My family and I very much enjoyed our stay at the Great Escape. The house is well furnished and has much of what you’ll need to enjoy time in the quiet Sierra woods. Beds were a little on the hard side but comfortable. The area is quiet and peaceful and it’s a good distance from the main highway. The gas BBQ worked great for us and we loved the large dining table that we could all gather around to eat. The smart TVs were a great feature for watching movies together as well.
I would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the WiFi is a little shoddy. The connection continuously dropped and we had to reset the router constantly. I have Verizon and cell service was pretty much non existent so not having reliable WiFi is a little concerning given there’s no landline. I would recommend a more reliable router to try and resolve that issue. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay.
Manager response:
Thank you for your review, James. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and apologize for the spotty WiFi. There is only provider in the area, and the service is poor. We hope this gave you an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful area to its fullest!

We really enjoyed our stay especially in different Covid 19 times!
I’ll give you the Pros first! It’s in a great location if you want somewhere quiet & relaxing. I walked our dog every day around the block with friendly neighborhood dogs greeting us. It’s a good size house with plenty of room. Loved the bath tub after long walks in the Big Tree state park! The beds are comfortable and the house is clean and looks just like the images and video shown. The smart tv has a great selection of movies & platforms to watch them on if you have the accounts set up... Vudu, Amazon Prime, Netflix etc
I would have liked some extra kitchen utensils,
a sieve, measuring cup especially since a lot of restaurants were closed and we cooked in apart from one night we went to El Vaquero in Arnold which was great! Beware as the metal saucepans provided heat up SO much on the gas cooker that you CANNOT lift them without a towel .. I learnt that from a burnt finger! The general store & gas station are less than a 10 minute drive away. Bistro Espresso In Arnold was a great stop off for drinks & picnic food to take to the park. Great trip and we would definitely recommend this property! And the homeowners did a nice job of decor and providing comfortable linens.
The Cons...
Vacasa could be better. We were given the wrong entry code for the lock box on our app account so we couldn’t get into the house when we arrived. I sent a text & got a reply four hours later. I called and she too gave me the wrong code and checked again to come back with two lock box code numbers which did work. Vacasa cleaning team left laundry in the washer & in the dryer!! Cracked glasses in the cupboards. We found kids hair ties next to the bath tub so was it really cleaned??? A Pacifier, someone’s used water container in the cupboards & the pull out counter chopping board had food still on it so it shows me that the cleaning team didn’t do a Premium clean!!
Manager response:
Hi, Kevin! We appreciate your feedback and apologize for the inconveniences. The issue with the entry codes has been resolved, and we are working with our housekeeping staff on reaching our high cleanliness standards. We have suggested added more kitchen inventory to the owner. Thank you!

Our family stayed here early January 2020. The house is warm and cozy upon arrival. All towels and toiletries are provided at the house. You’ll need to bring spices, condiments, cooking oil, coffee, etc because there are none at the house other than salt & pepper. There is a coffee machine (no coffee or filters), toaster, plenty of silverware and plates. Wifi didn’t work for the first 2/3 hours and we panicked because there was NO phone reception. I had to log into my xfinity (thankfully it popped in and out) which allowed me to call and email Vacasa to put in the work order. All rooms were nice and clean. The beds were kind of hard but it wasn’t too bad. Master bathroom + bedroom was spacious. My kids loved the jacuzzi tub. We love the game room & all the games, including the poker. there was cable and Netflix access on the smart TVs. We also appreciate having the fireplace.
Manager response:
Hi Kim, we're so glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay! We regret that the WiFi wasn't working at the beginning of your stay, but we're glad to report that it is now working well. We hope to host you again soon!
