The view was wonderful. Couldn't ask for a better location, close to a bunch of cool stuff like Cape Perpetua.
That being said, the two Queen beds need to be replaced! Also, the parking advisory about three spaces is misleading. It is for both units and that is not clear.

We loved the location because we were so close to the ocean. The rocky shores were mesmerizing ! Just down the street was a nice state park that has a stretch of sandy beach. Having a Hot Tub was over the top. OMG the showers were so nice becuase the water pressure was high. :)
Upon arriving @ 4pm we found the Hot tub at 74 degrees. It took until the next morning before it was up to 103. It would have been nice to have it up to temp when we arrived so we could use it as we planned. The BBQ was dirty and still had food stuck on it. There is a wonderful fireplace in the living room and it would have been a nice touch to be welcomed with 1 bundle of firewood to get us started. Alot of the pans in the kitchen did not have lids that fit.. The location of the property made cell service spotty. There is landline phone in the house but it did not work. (in case of emergency and our phones wouldn't work) The description said there were board games but all was to be found was puzzles. I am not writing a bad review.. We loved this place. The above is just suggestions to the owners to make it the perfect stay and to stay true to what is offered when you rent this property.

Ocean waves crashing just outside a picture-windowed sitting area was great for our limited-mobility grandmother. There's a large step into the sunken living room that she needed assistance with. Grocery store was just down the road in Yachats, and access to a nearly infinite beach was a short drive up the road. Room with four bunk beds was perfect for stashing all our kids, and the fire pit just outside the back door, and right next to the rocky ocean shore, was great fun.

Location, location, location! Fire pit, hot tub, million dollar views, and room for everyone. You can't beat this place.

We had a great visit to Yachats. Right outside the front windows we had the spectacular experience of seeing a pod of orca whales chase seals. This was incredible to watch. We also saw many gray whales on their migration north. We had a great time exploring the tide pools right outside our door and watching the waves crash on the rocks. We will definitely be back!

Missing basic spices including salt, bring your own or try grinding what they have in the cabinets.

I have stayed at a hew places right on the coast and I'd have to say that this was the best. Spacious, just enough Privacy, great view. I will definitely stay here again.

A little weird sharing having the separate renting unit upstairs, but not a big deal.

We are two adults (38), and two kids (both 9). We had never been to this part of the country - the scenery is just unbelievable. We rented the lower unit, and it is worth mentioning that the upstairs unit was vacant during our stay, but it was accessible so we looked around. I'm not sure I would rent the lower unit if the upper unit was rented at the same time; my wife, meanwhile, says it wouldn't bother her in the least, and she tends to be the less social of the two of us. While the upper unit is slightly larger and has a larger kitchen, my family agreed that the lower unit was better for our needs. The upper unit has a nice patio, but with the coastal weather being what it is (chilly to us), we would prefer to sit in the lower dining area or living area and gaze out at the ocean crashing upon the rocks. The windows, like any windows in the area, I'm guessing, were covered in a sort of haze. I've seen a couple of complaints about the windows, but all it took was a quick hit with the water hose, and they were pretty darned clear. That move alone greatly improved the quality of our stay.
The house was very clean, with no discernible odors. My only complaints about the whole experience, and these are minor but are being noted in the hopes that they are corrected - the refrigerator light bulb was out, we were only supplied with a partial roll of paper towels, and we were only supplied with one evening's worth of firewood, and I feel the rental instructions indicate there was more in the garage, while there wasn't. The linens were nice, the beds themselves I found to be pretty mediocre to uncomfortable, but they may suit the owner's sleeping desires just fine - his prerogative. There were an abundance of towels/washcloths provided. The kitchen is nicely stocked for a rental.
The location of the unit is phenomenal - right on a rocky cove. We watched the waves crash upon the rocks during high and low tide. The kids explored tidal pools directly behind the house - starfish, anemone and small crabs were among the sightings. The quaint town of Yachats was a moderate walk/very short drive from the unit. We walked to town about half the time.
Don't know what else to say, we are delighted with our experience at the Rocky Shores lower level!
We appreciate your thoughtful review of your stay with us! Many of our home owners provide only the first fire's wood. Most local grocery stores do have inexpensive wood for purchase. We are very pleased to read that your family was happy with your stay and enjoyed your first visit to the beautiful Pacific Northwest!

We loved the setting of this property - right near a cove where the waves come crashing in, sending sprays 20 feet high! The home was very clean and tidy and came with all the amenities, including coffee beans!! We loved it and had a great time, would definitely come back and stay here again!

The view is so great. The furnishings are so comfortable. My family had a great time. One housekeeping issue that was probably an oversight. I'm certain we will revisit this rental in the future.
Pretty house but the kitchen could really, use a few additional ammenities. cutting board, can opener, ice tray, foil etc....I like to cook on vacation and it was kind of tough here. Nice house though....Although saying the grill is accessible when it's closed in on the upstairs units enclosed porch is kind of tough access.

We had a wonderful retreat at Rocky Shores. We loved the calm peacefulness of the constant sound of the waves hitting the shore. We spent hours sitting in the big chair reading and watching the tide. Our golden retriever loved watching the birds and running on the beach.
