Stayed as a Xmas gift for my wife, and we loved it there!
All the comforts of home, and more! The cottage was clean and well-maintained. It is located just behind the winery, within walking distance. We were given a complementary wine tasting, as well as our own bottle of sparkling wine within the cottage! We would definitely recommend staying here, and plan to visit again in the future!
The lights in the bathroom need to be brighter.
My daughter and I loved our cottage! It was spacious, nicely decorated, well appointed and comfortably stocked. The stay was my birthday present to my daughter.
My daughter enjoyed the wine tasting, and we both enjoyed our lunch on the patio.
Thanks for everything,
Sharon L. P.
I stay here roughly one week each month and it is great each time.
It’s just so relaxing and peaceful.
We stayed at Hof Haus and out was perfect! Clean, comfortable bed, the place was like new! It was quite and peaceful and the complimentary champagne from the winery was wonderful! We highly recommend the Hof cabin and plan to stay they again!
My mom & I stayed at Hof Haus & it was the perfect getaway. We loved our cute cottage. The smell of cinnamon from our delicious pastry that was left for our breakfast welcomed us. And we even had a bottle of Muscat Canelli Spumante in the fridge. It was the perfect refreshing drink to enjoy in our patio. And the next day we went for a tasting & we were pleasantly surprised to find out our tastings fee was waived. It was the perfect mother daughter getaway.
My husband and I have made this an annual destination before picking up our daughter from camp in the Hill Country. Messina Hof is the best. The casita was clean, cool and stocked with a lovely bottle of sparkling wine and the most amazing coffee cake! Highly recommend this sweet little place.
Hof cottage was just perfect for us. Nice weekend away from our crazy busy life back home. This place was very peaceful and quit. It was nice to take a walk to the winery and enjoy a nice glass of wine outdoors. We couldn't have asked for a much nice place and weather. Definitely would love to go back!
Very nice stay, even though the toilet ran on and off all night and the drain in bathroom sink did not work.
These items have been repaired, and we are glad to see this guest enjoyed their stay anyways!
Hof Haus was charming and perfect for our getaway.
The place was amazing with beautiful furniture. Not only did we get a bottle of champagne in our room, there was orange juice, a large round cinnamon roll, tea, coffee, cereals and milk. Also we got two free tasting in the winery. First class all the way.
Very affordable and homey. Will be booking here again in the future
We stayed at this property two nights. It was adequate for a short stay, although pricey. The location is near a main highway, so traffic noise is loud when sitting outside (front or back porch of the house), but not noticeable once inside. The bed was very comfortable. The AC made a somewhat strong noise when it turned on, which may be inadequate for light sleepers. The one thing we disliked was that the sink in the bathroom was draining very slowly, almost clogged. For breakfast there were several options like bread, cereal, orange juice and coffee, but nothing fresh like fruit. One would think that with all the many orchards around Fredericksburg at least a few peaches or other fruit could be offered for breakfast.
We stayed in the Hof Haus one night, Wednesday night, to celebrate our 15th anniversary. Absolutely loved the cottage. Master bedroom is very nice and large. Small eating area for a kitchen and a small living/entry room but it was still perfect for us to enjoy a bottle of wine and lounge a little after a day of exploring. Overall the cottage was in great shape and extremely clean. Cottage had a concrete deck outside of the master bedroom that was perfect for watching the sun set. We loved this cottage and are planning on booking it again. It's also a 10 second walk to the Messina Hof winery which is very nice. Lot's of great wines and the staff was friendly. And the cottage was a 5-8 minute drive to downtown Fredericksburg which was a an added plus.
Our second stay at Messina Hof and we enjoyed it both times. The house is clean, quiet and right in the middle of Texas wine country. Would look forward to staying there again
My husband surprised me with this wonderful weekend. The cottage is beautiful and peaceful. The cinnamon deliciousness that is left in the room for breakfast is ... delicious!!! I only wish we could have stayed longer!
We enjoyed the cottages at Hof House Winery.
They were very quiet, clean, and upscale backing up to a forested preserve- like setting.
The location was a quick 10 minuets to get to Fredericksburg.
There were many wineries close by on HWY 290.
Great weekend get away.
Weekend getaway with my husband...was wonderful lodging! Deer in the back to watch while having coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. Would stay again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, inside and out!
VERY NICE PLACE TO STAY WHILE VISITING FREDRICKSBURG AND SURROUNDING COUNTRY. MY WIFE AND I ENJOYED HOW CLEAN AND PRIVATE IT WAS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HAVING US .WE ENJOYED OUR STAY.
Great accommodations and extremely clean and comfortable. Perfect location to enjoy Hill Country!
Not a great location as 10 miles from Fredericksburg and there is no restaurant at the site. Continental breakfast provided was a joke- dry cereal and bottled OJ. Shower and floor are flush and this makes for a very slippery wet surface getting out of shower with polished concrete floor. The cabin is nicely decorated but details lacking. Maybe after the rest of the winery is complete it will be worth it but this was a huge disappointment after having a great stay at the Messina Hof in Bryan Texas
We are sorry to see this guest was disappointed with their stay. We do feel some of these disappointments could have been avoided had the guest carefully read the description provided for the home. We do state in that description that the location is 10 miles from downtown Fredericksburg, and we never mention any on-site restaurants. We also state in the listing that there is a light unhosted breakfast (not a continental breakfast). This breakfast includes a locally made 9 inch pastry, 2 different types of cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee for the coffee maker, and cream. We do provide a bath mat for guests to dry their feet off on before stepping onto the bathroom floor. We apologize if this guest still found the setting slippery.
Great place and loved the location. Nice breakfast, coffee and mimosas in our room!
I have stayed here multiple times and I have loved it each time. Staff and cabin are amazing.
We stayed in Hoff House and it was SO cozy and adorable. We would stay agin.
This cottage was perfectly located in the midst of the major wineries on 290 near Fredricksburg. We were able to shop, dine and enjoy local events conveniently. The staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and accommodating to our getaway. The cottage was well appointed and very comfortable.
This was our second time to stay at Messina Hof. We love the location as well as the Messina Hof tasting room. Our favorite part is being able to sit on the patio then come back to our cottage without getting in a car or shuttle. Its just a short walk away!
Great peaceful place. Felt like we were in another country. Loved that we got a free tasting at the winery and can just walk over.
Excellent place to stay while visiting area wineries.
I stayed at the hoff cittage. It was a nice cottage, Secluded, quiet and peaceful.
This was a great spot to relax and reconnect with my husband (this was our first vacation away from our children.). I loved sitting on the porch with a glass of Spumante and just hanging out. The little house and the garden and butterflies were also very romantic. It’s walking distance from the tasting room. Also, our wine shuttle was nice enough to pick us up from here so we didn’t have to worry about drinking and finding transportation when we spent Saturday wine tasting. I highly recommend staying here if you truly want to escape the hustle and bustle and relearn how to appreciate the little things.
Great place! Private, well-appointed, cozy, and super clean! Best place to stay in the Texas hill country whether you like wine or not! We WILL be back!
Our first time visiting the Texas wine country and my only regret is that I wish I could stay longer!
Cottage was easy to check in, instructions were provided beforehand via email. Room was clean and perfect for a couple. Location is great- walking distance to a few nice wineries.
Only suggestion- complimentary tasting at Messina Hoff would've been an added bonus. We actually didn't get to try Messina Hoff at all, maybe next time! Would definitely return and stay at this cottage.
Breakfast was very simple- coffee cereal and a danish. We are definitely not complaining but to be labeled a "bed and breakfast" a hot meal would've been nice.
Great setting and amenities for couples enjoying the best of the hill country.
Great place to stay in Fredericksburg! On 290, but nice and quiet from 4pm to 11am!
The property was beautiful and winery is amazing!
We love our trips to Fredericksburg and we will definitely keep this one on our list of places to stay
Perfect. Great rates. Great location. Wonderful in every way. Wish we could've stayed a month... Didn't want to leave. Can't say enough... We will certainly stay here again...
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. The pastry left for us to eat was probably the best dessert I've ever had. The sparkling wine was fantastic and was a real treat since neither of us are wine enthusiasts; it made us feel special that they left that for us. The room was cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable that neither of us wanted to get out of it each morning. We definitely plan on going back to the cabin.
Nice quiet setting; very clean lodging; free wine tasting & bottle of sparkling wine were nice touches, as were the daily pastries
This was my third stay at MH and it is wonderful as usual.
The room was amazing and very cozy. This was our first time in the city and we can't wait to come back. We will stay here every time!!
We did a private wine tour and Caitlyn was great! Then we did a tasting and that was a lot of fun as well! Every one of the ladies there were so sweet and helpful. I can't wait to come back!
This location offers spacious and luxurious accommodations, with all the comforts of home, in a rustic and secluded setting, yet close to civilization. If you want to get away for a few days to recharge, free to come and go as you please without a hotel staff doting on you every time you come and go, this place is for you. The area offers plenty of fun. slow-paced, and low pressure activities. Great place to decompress and unwind with lots of wine.
Loved the quiet view off the back patio!
This house is amazing. Quiet, private, standalone house yet in the middle of the wine tasting. Short drive to town, shorter walk to taste the wine at Messina Hof!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. Was so peaceful and quite and the rooms were clean. Loved sitting on the back patio in morning and enjoying a cup of coffee with a delicious piece of coffee cake that was provided.
We really enjoyed our stay. The location is good and the cottages are very nice and clean. Only complaint is that I believe they are a little over priced vs other comparable options.
Messina Hof has always been my favorite Texas Vineyard. This was our first time to stay on site and it was wonderful. The bed was so comfortable and the champagne delightful. The pastry was a delight and we will be back often.
I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Messina Hof Hill Country Hof Haus. It was such a quaint property that overlooked a small pond in the back. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was clean and spacious. A large pastry along with cereal, milk, orange juice, coffee, tea, and popcorn were provided as of food, and all of the toiletries that you needed were as well. I would highly recommend anyone stay here.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay and the cottage was clean. There wasn't much of a food/drink selection in the room though. The location is right off of the highway, so it's easy to get to, but there is some road noise when sitting on the patio to enjoy the outdoors. It's not as secluded as it appears online. Our stay was fine, but we'll probably find somewhere else next time.
Our stay at the Messina Hof Haus was perfect! The place was furnished beautifully! The bed was super comfortable. Possibly the best part about the whole thing was a daily pastry from the local bakery... It was delicious!!! The location is also perfectly located in the heart of all the vineyards. Good luck choosing which to visit!
The Hof house was lovely, don't let the outside appearance fool you. Everything was clean and well appointed. Extra touches like a beautiful and oh so good coffee cake, and a bottle from the winery were very appreciated.
The cabins at Messina Hof are the best! Great place to stay when you want to check out the hill country and local wineries. We loved the provided breakfast and sparking wine from Messina!
This was the second time in the last 3 months that we have stayed at Messina Hof in the same cottage The location is in the heart of the 290 Wine trail. 10 minutes into Fredericksburg and its many attractions and 20 minutes in to Luckenbach, TX. We met with old friends on the Messina Hof tasting room patio... very pleasant experience and we plan to become regulars!
It was fantastic we will be back in peach season. The room was great.
The cabin we stayed in was very nice. The only issue at all (and a minor one) was that we were the only ones on the property that night.
Fredericksburg is a great area for a road trip. Messina Hof is comfortable and secure. Peace and quiet abound.
We enjoyed our visit.
Very nice individual cottages with private location - yet near everything.
Can't wait to plan another long weekend - so much to do and eat and
This guest house has great location, convenient to area vineyards and tasting rooms along the 290 corridor as well as easy access to downtown Fredericksburg. We were delighted to find a freshly baked coffee cake waiting for us upon our arrival!
If you get tired of the wine you can even "hang with Willie and the boys in Luckenbach, TX" which is only a 25 minute drive.
Really enjoyed our stay here! The pricing was reasonable and my boyfriend and I thought the cottage was very neat and comfortable! We went to Fredericksburg to celebrate our anniversary weekend and will definitely plan to come back again soon and stay at the Messina Hoff cottages.
So glad we found this cute and efficient home away from home!!

Our stay in the "Hof Haus" was a reflection of German hospitality-enjoyed all the little extras ....complimentary wine tasting....chilled bottle of Messina Hof brut waiting in the fridge ... tasty moist coffee cake waiting-very inviting little cabin for 2! We sipped wine as the sun set out on our front porch and enjoyed the start of the new day again out on our little porch with a fresh cup of coffee. We will be back!
We came for a quiet staycation away from the city (while not wanting to be directly in downtown Fredericksburg, and felt like it had just the perfect amount of amenities and luxury. The cereal, milk, juice, and coffee cake breakfast on-site was an added bonus! They really had thought of everything during the stay.
My husband had a great birthday on our trip. The food was great and we needed a get away. Thank you for making our time special.
The property was neat, clean, cozy and convenient.
Great experience! Thank you for making everything so easy!
We were given this trip from our kids for our 35th Anniversary. We are antique hunters and we loved exploring Fredericksberg and Kerrville. We went home with lots of good finds! Not to mention the good wine (I love you all's sparkling Almond!) We'll be back!
So happy with our experience- everything was above our expectations- enjoy!
Cute private property, perfect for a get away.
Great Stay. Comfy bed. Perfect breakfast. Great view of big pond in the back. 40 yards from the wine tasting area...yet secluded.
We so enjoyed our stay. They thought of everything. We enjoyed the sparkling wine in the fridge and the lovely breakfast treats. The lagoon in the back was filled with beautiful song birds that we enjoyed so much! A wonderful place to stay.
very nice, clean and quiet. Free wine tasting included! It was great fun!
Great B&B for the wineries in the Fredericksburg area.

It was a beautiful place to stay on 290
My husband & I stayed here just one night but really enjoyed the experience. Be sure to visit the Dixie Falls Cafe (Texas Monthly's Best Burger) next to the Old Tunnel State Park & stay for the park rangers informative talk & the bats exit from the tunnel. We had our coffee on the back porch the next morning & were visited by several deer. The accommodations & amenities are great!
We just enjoyed a wonderful (but too short) stay at the Messina Hof winery. The cottages are adorable and easily accessible from Highway 290. Very clean and comfortable, with nice little touches such as milk and orange juice provided upon arrival so you don't have to run right out to the store to be ready for your morning coffee - a very nice coffee cake was left for us as well. Location is close to other great wineries and even though it's a ~10 mile trip into town, it takes only a few minutes because there's no traffic. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Fredericksburg is a lovely little town and we can't wait to return. Quirky and interesting boutiques and shops, the Fredericksburg Brewery has some great craft beers (my favorite is the Not-so-dumb-blonde) and the "Tasting Place" is a must try for an amazing array of epicurean delights - Texas style! If you're interested in wine tasting, there's a hop-on/hop-off shuttle that goes up and down 290 to all of the wineries. All in all it's a really great place to soak up German & Texas culture, all in one compact little place
We will make this a annual trip
We spent our first year anniversary here with another couple and absolutely loved it. We are close to wineries and have our own private cottage. It was such an amazing weekend, thank you!
Messina Hof House was beautiful and the room was nice…..but the lack of Customer Service and the very rude, argumentative, defensive and condescending Employee at the office has ensured that next time I return it will not be a Vacasa managed property.
We are incredibly sorry to see that this guest did not receive excellent customer service. We know that we would not exist without our customers and want to provide the best service possible; we will look into this reservation and see where follow-up training is required.
