It was weird not having a completely private bathroom but we loved the cottage and location. The welcome packet was helpful, breakfast and coffee were a great touch. Comfy bed, quiet and close to town so we could walk everywhere.
Christina N. Sep 2018
It was so nice to walk right into the home without having to check in off site somewhere. Every thing was perfect. The bed was super comfortable. The coffee cake along with the provided orange juice, coffee, cereal and milk were nice treats for the start of every morning. You can walk to main street in about 10 minutes, but you won't have sidewalks the entire way. The cottage had beautiful décor and a warm, cozy feel. They even had the fire pit ready to be lit. You can't go wrong with this home.
Frederick P. Sep 2018
The cottage was sparkling clean and lovely. Close and convenient to old town
Phatsavinh S. Sep 2018
Loved the cottage! Super adorable and jet tub was a bonus. Very close to downtown. Would definitely stay there again.
Lora S. Aug 2018
My husband and I spent our anniversary weekend here. It is a romantic cabin with a whirlpool tub. It is only 2 blocks from main street where all the shops and restaurants are. We didn't want to leave. We will be returning many more times.
John A. Jul 2018
Bed was comfortable , Private, AC might need an upgrade but fans were onsite to make it comfortable in the July heat.

There was enough space to spread out without getting lost. The house is in a great quiet side street that is only a few blocks from Main. It had a very comfortable feeling and an enormous, soft bed. All of the essentials and we enjoyed the well thought out placement of the TV. We really enjoyed our time here and will be back.
Heidi M. Jun 2018
My friend and I greatly enjoyed staying at the cottage. It was very clean, cool (we know how hot TX can be in June), adorable and supplied with a nice breakfast and anything we could need. No complaints!
Larry & Wendy B. Jun 2018
Cottage was beautiful and wonderful. Plan to stay there again.
William F. Apr 2018
Travis cottage Great stay close to everything we were interested in doing for our 50th anniversary could use a step to get in and out of the bathtub for us old people. LOL
Timothy H. Apr 2018
We really enjoyed our weekend stay in the Travis St Cottage. The location to the town is great -- just a few blocks off of Main St. And the accommodations are very comfortable. Stocking the fridge with breakfast basics was a nice touch and the danish they provide was delicious. Staff is very friendly and the price is right. We loved the jacuzzi tub; just be careful if a step for climbing in and out has not yet been added. Enjoy your stay!
Karl S. Apr 2018
We had a great time! Checking in late was easy and the location was close to Main Street, so we could walk there easily. The entrance and parking was private and we would love to stay there again soon!
Daniel C. Mar 2018
The cottage was nice for a one night stay. Impractical to stay much longer with only a bathtub. I was blindsided by the room cleaning fee (which would make sense if we stayed a week or so). Overall The room was nice though.
Sandy Z. Mar 2018
Quaint little cottage. Very cute. We loved our stay. Used the fire pit one night...nice little feature.
Jarrett G. Mar 2018
For the size of the bathtub, I didn't expect the hot water to only last about 15-20 mins. The water pressure was really bad, so 20 minutes of running water only filled the tube to about 1/3. I'd go with another option before staying here again.
Manager Response:
We are sorry to see the bathtub and water situation caused so much dissatisfaction with this stay. If guests only run hot water they will run out, and the water will be scalding. If guests use a bit of cold mixed in, it stays quite warm and will fill up past the jets. The water level rises considerably once a person is in there, so the tub does not need to be filled all the way up. Thanks!
Lora S. Mar 2018
It was a cozy little cottage. Very nice for a romantic getaway with my husband. We did not expect for there to be breakfast items when we arrived.
Melinda D. Feb 2018
Very nice, cozy & quiet. Convenient to central downtown. It was fun looking at different shops.

Pros:
Friendly staff, yummy pastry, a good location, and pretty cute decor.
Cons:
The mattress was pretty uncomfortable, all but one pillow was worn out, the hot water heater couldn’t even fill up the tub half way before running out of hot water, and there is only a closet type door between the bathroom and bedroom. If you are super close with your travel partner and don’t mind using the bathroom together in a small space, then it should be fine for you.
Manager Response:
We are glad to see this guest enjoyed their stay! We have advised the owner of the comments regarding the pillows and mattress. The hot water will run out if you are filling the tub with only hot water, but that would be quite hot. If guests use some cold as well, the tub will fill up and not be scalding. Thank you!
Cameron H. Jan 2018
Very coat to town! Cozy, clean, and a great staff/ chdck-in and out process! Needs a new mattress! You never know if a guest may have a bad back...
Leah F. Jan 2018
While not the most romantic place to stay, it's one of the cheaper options. I guess that's because it's an old garage that's been converted into a tiny one room b&b. You have to step up to get into the added bathroom, which has no shower, only a tub.
Barbara S. Dec 2017
This rental is really cute, decorated very nicely and tastefully. Centrally located.
Susan B. Dec 2017
I stayed at your facilities to attend a relatives wedding. The accommodations were very convenient to the wedding activities
Ryan H. Dec 2017
This cottage is in a great location, near to the main street. We enjoyed the firepit outside in the evening. Within walking distance to the main street.
Harry G. Nov 2017
Will consider Vacasa properties in the future
Mady H. Nov 2017
Travis Street Cottage is such a cute one room, one bath place. It's homey, adorable, and clean! Enchanted Rock is only 20 minutes from the cottage, which was wonderful! Main street was just a short walk away and accessible to the many shops, restaurants, and tasting rooms! Try out the Pontotoc Vineyard; they had an excellent wine tasting for a lower price and a delicious Sangria. The Fredericksburg Pie company was also really good, but get there right at opening! They sell till they are out of pie, and they are a popular pie place! I loved Fredericksburg as a short relaxing get away! I can't wait for my next trip here! I would definitely stay here on my next trip back!
Robert D. Nov 2017
Great, location, priced fair, wonderful amenities, snacks and coffee provided. Totally unexpected.
Gordon T. Oct 2017
This place was perfect for our short stay. The location is great, it is cute and quaint, everything was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and there were several little amenities they thought of that made our stay more convenient (good coffee, real cream, coffee cake, etc). I feel it's important to note the location is quiet and that I definitely perceived privacy. That is important to me (especially on a couple's weekend). There are also multiple ceiling fans, good lighting, and a good air-conditioner...all little things I find important. You should know there is not a "shower", but there is a big tub with an extendable spray head. It may not be the perfect choice for a long-term stay, but I think it's awesome for a night or three. I am a picky individual, and I would certainly recommend this place for a Fredericksburg stay.
William S. Sep 2017
Great cottage perfect for two for a romantic getaway or just to unwind. It's the perfect size and a great location just minutes away from Main Street. Would definitely go again and recommend to anyone wanting to visit Fredericksburg
Jennifer B. Aug 2017
This is a great spot, walkable to everything you'll want in downtown Fredericksburg. The cabin really is beautiful and perfectly appointed with everything you'll need for a quiet getaway. We only wish the bed had been more comfortable. I read that other guests had this same complaint and felt sure management would've handled this before other people booked, but unfortunately this wasn't the case. For that reason alone, it wasn't a perfect stay.
Manager Response:
We're so pleased the guests enjoyed the cabin and its proximity to downtown. The homeowners will appreciate the compliments on the beautiful appointments. Our apologies for the discomfort of the bed; the owners are considering their options for a replacement. Thank you.
Angela A. Aug 2017
The property is well decorated and cozy. It was much smaller than it looked in the pictures; notice it's total square foot is 380. There is no shower.
Paul M. Jul 2017
Prone location. Quiet area.
John M. Jul 2017
I will never use Vacasa again. I left multiple messages to discuss the problem we had with the Travis street cottage and never received a call back. Terrible experience.
Manager Response:
We are sorry to see this guest was dissatisfied with their experience. They were given the manager-on-call's phone number to use during their stay, and they never reached out until their visit was over. We would have been able and happy to take care of the problems they experienced had they notified us at the time. The issues they experienced have been taken care of for incoming guests. Thanks!
Norma S. Jun 2017
Convenient to everything.
Melissa B. May 2017
Stayed for my 10 year wedding anniversary. The Travis Cottage was ideal for a romantic getaway. Very charming! Clean with plenty of space. The tubs hand held shower head has excellent pressure. Everything you need included for a perfect weekend! Love that the cottage was private and had its own driveway and patio area to relax, enjoy a glass of wine and warm your feet by the fire pit. It's an 8 min walk to Main St. And a 3 min. Walk to the Pacific War Museum which is where they pick you up for the wine shuttle. I highly recommend staying here, we will definitely be back.
Whitney E. May 2017
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend. It is clean and cozy and a very good location close to Main St. It had everything we needed.
I would not stay here longer than a weekend, though. The mattress was not the most comfortable and we missed having a shower. The jetted tub was nice but we like to shower.
Everything else was just fine.
Lyndsay P. Apr 2017
Took a quick weekend trip from Houston wit my sister for her birthday. We had a great time. The cottage was the perfect size and had everything we needed! It was a quick and pleasant walk to the bars, restaurants and shops. I'd love to stay here again!
Alison G. Apr 2017
Everything was awesome but the food for bfast was too minimal. They could have put hard boiled eggs or something in the fridge aside from cereal.
Kathy N. Apr 2017
Cozy cottage that is full of light, spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed with plenty of room for two. Indoor and outdoor spaces are just right. Furniture is lovely. A well-designed and generously stocked kitchenette + large, clean, relaxing, Jacuzzi, mirrors, room for all that is needed. The bed and furnishings are absolutely gorgeous.
Monica A. Apr 2017
Perfect for our needs. Just needed a place to sleep. Would have liked a shower but sprayer in tub helped.
JAMES B. Apr 2017
Great location- great destination
Jason C. Mar 2017
Great place to stay and close to main street!!!
Desiree R. Mar 2017
We had such a great stay at the Travis Cottage. The place was incredibly cute, comfy, and had everything we needed. Plus, the staff left us a huge coffee cake, juices, cereal, popcorn and more. Free cake is the way to my heart :-) Also the giant jetted bathtub is amazing and the location is awesome. We definitely made the right decision staying at the Travis House and booking with vacasa. I would want to stay here again during future trips to Fredericksburg.
WILLIAM S. Mar 2017
Cozy space, quiet and comfortable. Everything we needed and nothing we didn't. The jet tub is wonderful.
Tracy K. Feb 2017
This cute little cottage has so much charm. We really enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and decorated perfectly. Just what you would expect for Fredericksburg. The refrigerator was stocked with coffee cream, milk and orange juice. Great selection of cereals to pick from and a wonderful coffee cake in in a beautiful glass cake dish. I can't imagine what else you could need. It's so close to Main Street and all the Fredericksburg action. We will definitely be back.
Tom N. Feb 2017
Comfortable, fresh, bright, well appointed cottage a few blocks from Main St. Clean, jacuzzi, super bed, kitchenette, nice chairs for reading and an ottoman ~ all well designed. Generous, delicious coffee and breakfast.
Veronica H. Jan 2017
We enjoyed our stay in the Travis Cottage. The location is great and the space was very cute. Check in and out process was very easy.
Jacob W. Jan 2017
Cozy cottage within walking distance of the downtown Fredericksburg.
Jack & Amy C. Jan 2017
We needed a short visit to Fredericksburg. The accommodation was quaint and lovely. The staff was very organized and efficient. We found everything as described. The pillows were especially comfortable.
Jose M. Dec 2016
The cottage is small but has all of the amenities needed for a stay in Fredericksburg. The location is perfect as it is close enough to walk to the ships, but far away enough to not have to deal with alot of traffic.
Jodie T. Nov 2016
Great little cottage/converted garage if you're in and out...there's no shower, and not enough hot water to fill the tub. Otherwise a great little spot with comfy furnishings and fantastic location!
Ben F. Nov 2016
Nice place to stay for the price. Only issue we had was the driveway scrapping the bottom of our car.
Hayley W. Oct 2016
The room was nice & clean. Bed was fairly comfortable. The only complaint was that the room had a mildew smell. We kept the door open a lot to air it out.
Vivian S. Sep 2016
Really good time
Norberto G. Sep 2016
Very close to Main Street, 5-10 min walk. 30 min to enchanted rock state park and 20-30 mins to most of the wineries outside of town. The cottage has everything you need. Very comfortable bed and nice bathroom (no shower but the tub has a shower head handle which is easy to adapt to).
Daniel R. Sep 2016
We found the staff at Vacasa to be very friendly, and helpful. We were disappointed because the property smelled like mildew, the A/C could not fully cool the room and the jacuzzi tub did not meet our needs.
Manager Response:
We appreciate receiving this feedback; the Property Manager was unable to identify a mildew smell, but she has brought the air conditioner to the attention of the owners.
Dana M. Jul 2016
Travis Cottage was the perfect place for my stay in Fredericksburg! Easy walk to shopping and restaurants. I loved the jetted tub, even though I'm typically a shower girl. There is a convenient shower attachment that makes hair washing super easy. Price was great for a spot so close to downtown. Highly recommend to singles and couples!
Jonathan A. Jun 2016
Staying at this property gave my wife and I the inspiration we needed to start looking at owning B&B's in Fredericksburg.
Brian M. May 2016
The cottage is cute and and conveniently located. The hill country decor adds to the charm, the bed is like sleeping in the arms of an angel and the kuchen was crazy delicious!
Mike S. May 2016
We really liked the stay. We weren't in the room very much so we didn't need a lot. Everything you would need is provided. Even a hair dryer. There is no shower but a very large jacuzzi tub with hand held spray nozzle. Two large mirrors so two people can be getting ready at same time. It is within walking distance. But a good walk. We chose to drive. But parking is scarce on main. I also appreciated there was no deposit required to book. Overall a great stay.
Joe W. Apr 2016
Nice
Ally A. Mar 2016
Overall, we were pretty happy with the property. It was in a great location, clean and very cute. The downside is that the property does not have a shower. Because of this, I would not stay here again.
Manager Response:
There is not currently a shower head in this bathroom, but there is a lovely bath tub for those that enjoy luxuriating.
