Lovely dog-friendly cabin w/ 4 on-site tasting rooms - along Hwy 290 Wine Trail!
Enjoy a wonderful glimpse of Texas Hill Country charm when you escape to this gorgeous dog-friendly Fredericksburg cabin, a one-bedroom wine country retreat that offers a wood-burning fireplace, four on-site tasting rooms, and an ideal location along the Highway 290 Wine Trail.
This traditional stone cabin is part of the Historic Rocky Cottage, a quaint complex of five private suites that sits six miles southeast of downtown Fredericksburg. These beautiful cottages can either be rented individually or together, creating a perfect getaway for as many as 12 people.
This single-level property enjoys close proximity to the restaurants, shops, and historic sites that make Fredericksburg so special. It's also adjacent to Six Shooter Cellars and Fiesta Winery, less than one mile from Alexander Vineyards and Rancho Ponte Vineyard, and within a short drive of dozens of wineries and tasting rooms in greater Gillespie County.
Rustic in style but elegantly outfitted, the interior living space is atmospheric and comfortable. Admire the exposed beams of the walls and vaulted ceiling, build a fire in the beautiful stone fireplace, or curl up on the luxurious leather sofa for an afternoon nap.
Return home from a day of wine tasting to enjoy a night at home with your loved one. Use the wireless Internet to plan the next day's itinerary, or sit down to enjoy your favorite show on the flatscreen TV.
You won't find a kitchen in this spacious cabin, but a convenient microwave and coffee maker will help ease you into each morning. And as dinner time rolls around, you'll be glad to have the chance to try the delicious dishes at the nearby Cabernet Grill, Otto's, and Vaudeville.
This historic cabin also opens onto a large communal courtyard, which has a bubbling waterfall feature and large trees that provide shade on warm summer days. There's even live music and wine tasting here on most Saturday afternoons, courtesy of Fiesta Winery next door.
With one bedroom and one full bathroom, the Bordeaux Suite can sleep as many as two guests. The bedroom is accented by a bold red wall and features a king-size bed. The full bathroom offers a large vanity and a walk-in shower. If you'd like to bring along a dog a small nightly fee applies.
Thanks to its on-site tasting rooms and wonderful location on the Highway 290 Wine Trail, this Historic Rocky Cottage property is a wine lover's delight. In addition to the vineyards in the immediate vicinity, you'll find 4.0 Cellars and Grape Creek Vineyards just four miles away, as well as Pedernales Cellars only 12 miles away.
Hikers and rock climbers will also be enthralled by a visit to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, which offers one of the most majestic landscapes in the region just 23 miles north.
Experience all of the beauty that the Texas Hill Country has to offer! Book your stay at this Fredericksburg cabin today!
Loved this suite! It was quiet, quaint, and great for a weekend getaway! The room is well-stocked and the danishes left on the table were superb! Would definitely stay here again.
Very comfortable and convenient to attractions. Delicious coffee cake was provided along with coffee, juice and cereal. The bed was heavenly with super soft sheets. The only issue was that the internet never worked....but it was kind of nice to unplug!
We appreciate your feedback, and thanks for staying with us! Our local operations manager went to the property and the internet seems to be working perfectly. It is satellite based internet, and we have not had any reported issues in the past year. We encourage all guests to reach out to our 24/7 Guest Services line if they encounter any issues.
The log cabin was awesome. Spacious, clean and well cared for. We loved the fact it was away from town, but had 3 wineries within walking distance.
Nice location and plenty of room. The bed was a bit firm for me but otherwise the cabin was very enjoyable. The coffeecake was fabulous! I would highly recommend.
A brilliant little structure in a charming setting. Restored log cabin, plenty of space, Wineries on site if you want to avoid the taste and drive situation... delicious coffee cake on the coffee table upon arrival and not too far from town!!
We traveled to the Fredericksburg area specifically to attend a concert in Luckenbach and do a little shopping. This location couldn't have been better - 5 minutes to the Luckenbach dancehall, and less than 10 minutes into town for shopping and eating. The location is ideal for wine tasting.
The Suite is part of an old log cabin - the two sides separated by a dogwalk (which has been enclosed), so it's like having a stand-alone unit. This would be amazing for two couples to rent the Bordeaux and Champagne Suites.
Things we loved:
Lots of towel racks and coat hangers
Great furnishings - Fabulous bedding
Has it's own water heater!
Amazing baked goods to welcome us
Things that can be improved:
The mini-fridge is too mini (we're on a special diet and brought a few of our own snacks) & the door won't seal so nothing really stayed cold - I think a shim under the front of the fridge would solve this, but honestly it needs a mini-fridge twice this size.
The coffee provided with the coffee pot was extremely stale, and there is no coffee scoop, so you get to play a guessing game!
No daily housekeeping service
No place to put your suitcase except on the floor in the corner of the living room. A large empty table in that corner or 2 folding luggage racks would be great.
Overall, we were very happy with our two-night stay and would recommend this location, especially if Luckenbach is your reason to visit.
We are sorry to see there was anything that detracted from this stay. We were able to successfully get the fridge to seal shut and guess our guest overfilled the fridge. We understand this is easy to do with a fridge so small; unfortunately, there is no room for a larger fridge. There is a chair in the corner of the room, as well as an end table, that guests can place luggage on. Again, there is no room to add a luggage rack. There is no daily housekeeping at this unit, which is reflected in the cost, but we do have other options with daily housekeeping if guests have a larger budget. Housekeeping has replaced the coffee and provided a coffee scoop. Thank you!

Very nice cabin; clean and comfortable.
Was the prefect place for out anniversity. Far enough from the crowds, yet close enough for easy access to venues.
We really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and clean, and very convenient for a weekend of fun.
I stayed here on business for a couple of days. The location is convient if you want to be close to town but far enough away from the traffic. This is my second time staying here and it won’t be my last!
This was our second trip to Fredericksburg and the first time we stayed downtown. We wanted to change it up and found this eclectic cabin-style suite there was conveniently located midway between the wine trail and downtown. It definitely had a cool vibe to it, along with the host providing fresh coffee, microwave popcorn, etc. as well as satellite TV and good Wi-Fi. There are also two wineries adjacent to the suite but neither suited our taste. Definitely would return.
Went on a last minute trip, booked this property and everything was great. Bed was a bit uncomfortable (hard) but everything else was great. After 6pm you basically have the property to yourself. Has a nice fire pit to sit out by and relax.
Location was great! All the amenities were perfect, especially the coffee cake! We will definitely return for a longer stay!!
Great location and awesome cabin feel. Harddddd bed and several maintenance issues that need to be resolved.
Great location just outside of town, but still a quick drive to wineries and downtown. Very comfortable cabin/room with more private feeling than a normal hotel.
My girlfriend and I stayed 2 nights here in the bordeaux suite and it met our expectations and more. The cabin was well stocked with all the necessary items and it was so peaceful! We loved the charm and decor of the cabin. Conveniently located, close to town and all the vineyards. Would definitely recommend this place, and we plan to stay here again on our next trip to Fredericksburg
Location was awesome. Room was great. Had a great time visiting with local winery.
Would love to return. Great unexpected surprises, such as fresh bakery on the table and a stocked fridge and snack area. The king size bed was very comfortable and we enjoyed the separate sitting area. The thoughtfulness put into the charm is wonderful!
It was just like the pic online. Everything was clean and in place. We had a very relaxing 2 nights. A very enjoyable trip
Centrally locates between downtown Fredericksburg and the 290 wineries. Quiet and relaxing at night. Will stay again!
We absolutely loved the Bordeaux suite. The separate living room was beautiful and made it really feel like your own little cabin. Location was perfect - very close to town and we had several tasting rooms right on the same property. We were able to enjoy some live music and drinks without leaving our porch. We will definitely be back and book this same exact suite!
Loved loved the bed !! So comfortable. Slept so well. The refrigerator was stocked and the fresh coffee cake was wonderful. The grounds are so pretty. We would stay here again.
Even though we only stayed one night my wife loved the bed so much she begged me to stay one more night before going back to San Antonio. It’s a beautiful cabin as well.
Very nice. Had a good time. Everything was clean and neat. Thanks
Awesome log cabin within a winery. Dog friendly, breakfast snacks furnished, convenience location to wineries and Fredericksburg.
Loved our suite! The linens were soft and bed very comfortable! Fridge was well stocked with milk, oj and bottled water. There was even hot chocolate and popcorn available for snacks. The sitting area was very comfortable and we loved the cabin feel!
We loved the location of the property. If you want to stay outside of town, on location with three tasting places- this is it! The room was nice and perfect for a weekend getaway!
Stayed in this place for a business trip so I didn’t get to enjoy it as much as I would have liked. I will definitely return for a relaxing stay in the future!
We needed some time away from the city chaos, and decided to stay at this lovely romantic and quiet cottage. It really exceeded our expectation and would like to go back sometime soon.
The best place we have eer stayed for price and quality. Just beautiful.
We only stayed for a night as we were passing though, but the grounds were nice and the room was quaint.
Idea location along Hwy 290, with adequate space and comfort for two people
My husband and I had a weekend getaway for my birthday and it was very relaxing. So convenient to have wineries to walk to from the little cabin! Would highly recommend and can't wait to go back!
We stayed during the week so it was very quiet & secluded with little traffic. Parking could definitely be a problem during peak hours / days. We travel with our lab so we really appreciated having a spacious yard behind the cabin to let him run & play each day! The rustic cabin was very clean & cozy, exactly what we were looking for! And being out of town & near the wineries on 290 was a fun experience!
Great place to stay!! We will definitely be staying here again
We enjoyed our time in the Boardeaux Suite at Rocky Hill. It had 3 spacious rooms, was very comfortable and private. The amenities were good and the food provided tasted yummy!
Everything was very nice and we really enjoyed all the Christmas decorations in town.
Had a wonderful time in Fredericksburg, Tx. Great little town, great shops & restaurants & wonderful accommodations at Historic Rocky Hill - Bordeaux Suite. Loved being just outside of town - quiet but just a few minutes from town. Have used other vacation rental companies before & Vacasa was 1 of the best. Vacasa staff were friendly & helpful; we will try to use them again. Historic Rocky Hill was charming, well furnished, very clean & the cinnamon rolls left for us were a very nice touch (as well as being super delicious!).
The vaulted ceilings and log cabin decor, along with the word burning fire place make this a relaxing place to stay very close to Fredricksburg. The tasting rooms are a great stop before you head out to dinner, or relax in the courtyard for a midday break.
Great little cabin with 4 tasting rooms in the same parking lot. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We really enjoyed this place. It was convenient to the wineries being right on the main road but still felt secluded and out of the way. It was cute and quaint and we enjoyed it alot. We will defiantly visit again.
We have stayed at the Rocky Hill B&B before a few years back. We loved the suite we were in at that time so we thought we would give it another try. We love the size of the Bordeaux Suite, and they had everything you need for a nice secluded weekend away from home. The only complaint that we have is the bed in that suite was rock hard, and we left with aching bones. I am so hoping they will do something with it because it is perfect for us! Housekeeping was excellent! The rooms at Rocky Hill are very quiet even with three or four wineries onsite, and I love the decor! It isn't very far from town, and it is very close to some our favorite places like the Wildseed Farms, Sister Creek Winery, and Luckenbach!
We enjoyed our two night stay at the rustic Rocky Hill B & B. It is located about 6 miles outside the wonderful town of Fredericksburg, off the main highway and if you are into wineries, it is surrounded by four wineries within steps of the lodging. The room is set up with Wi-Fi and DirecTV but doesn't have the USA Network Channel...... strange?
We have already referred Rocky Hill to our neighbors and we would stay there again!
The cottage would have been perfect if the AC were not needed
Very clean and quiet, close to town and easy to get to. There were snacks and drinks along with a coffee cake when we arrived. Will definitely stay again.
Cabin was awesome! Full German danish was a pleasant surprise. Bed was comfy. AC was good. No complaints at all on cabin! And our pet liked it, too.
We stayed here for our anniversary and family reunion. The room was very quiet. Also very close to all the wineries. A great location.
My fiancé Steven and I booked this getaway as a last minute breather from the hustle of Houston. We were SO pleased with this rental. It was spotless! Loved the charming decor and accommodations included. Also love the property it is situated on- I woke up to a horse grazing in the field outside my window! As a Kentuckian girl, that spoke to my heart for sure!
Hospitality was impressive from the folks at Vacasa as well as every artisan/shop owner in Fredricksburg. Everything was perfect. We cannot wait to come back.
We loved sitting on the porch in rockers with our dog on Saturday listening to the music and watching the world go by and waking up to the horses in the pasture next door. Good to get away from the city!!
Overall the cabin was nice. This cabin is in a duplex style with another cabin.
We enjoyed our stay. The bedroom was quiet and dark which allowed for a good nights sleep. The coffee and continental breakfast was convenient.
This is the perfect spot to hit all the wineries on 290. We would book again for sure! We stayed 5 nights and the fridge is tiny, so bring an ice chest if you what to keep wine/beer cold or have your own snacks.
Enjoyed our stay at the Historic Rocky Hill: Bordeaux Suite. We were able to check early and be able to check out the main strip in Fredericksburg.
As advertised! Had a great stay and rather enjoyed being able to have 5 tasting rooms within walking distance!
Very nice cabin...it was warm and felt like home. Will be back to stay in the same cabin.
The office staff ladies were very pleasant, courteous, and helpful. They helped to make entire trip worth that much more. The suite was well laid out and very comfortable to stay in, we will be returning.
A friend of mine and I stayed here for a girls getaway and it was just the perfect spot! Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!
The ambiance was amazing. So many things to see and do within a 6 mile radius. I will visit again in the near future. Luckenbach Bar is a must!
Cozy, spacious, and close to vineyards!
Overall, a great rental and the Danish surprise was awesome.
Great location, nice view, very nice cottage.
We stayed here for our anniversary. This place is absolutely beautiful! As parents of 8, we could not have asked for a more peaceful escape!
convenient to winery's and Fredericksburg
Very cozy and nice cottage. Well lit outer area. Within walking distance to four wine tasting rooms and a boutique. 10 minutes outside of town for quick shopping. Close to Leukenbach also. Nice continental breakfast including a great coffee cake. Bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the separate living area to watch a movie during a heavy rain storm.
Love the cozy cabin decor.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for a couple nights during the week with our 2 small dogs. Perfect quiet, romantic getaway for us! We cannot wait to go back.
our stay could not have been any better,it was a fabulous weekend, and I will be back
excellent my wife love it,
Very cute and romantic place to stay.
We loved staying here because we had a beautiful view of nature (tiny ponies grazing on a pasture!), the room was comfortable and quiet, and just outside was a winery with outdoor seating, music, and shopping. It all shuts down around 6 p.m. so our evening was relaxing and quiet. It's just a short drive to Fredericksburg's Main Street for more action!
