Charming oceanfront, dog-friendly house right on the beach!

Ready for a fun vacation on the Oregon Coast? This house in Waldport is full of character, and offers dog-friendly accommodations along with stunning ocean views and a private beach access point just steps away!

Located just three miles south of Waldport, you're a quick drive away from the shops and restaurants of town, plus the Crestview Golf Course if you're up for a round. Best of all, the beach is just a few steps away via a private staircase leading to the sand from your back yard.

As you approach the house, the first thing you'll notice is the sky-blue color, then the eclectic beach decor, which is a great reminder to relax and have a good time!

The upstairs of this two-level house features an open layout combining a living room, dining area, and kitchen. Brightly lit by wide picture windows looking out onto the beach, you'll have plenty of seating to choose from to relax with a book or enjoy pleasant conversation. This will be a fantastic spot to watch for migrating whales, to safely view a storm, or to enjoy a marvelous sunset at the end of each day.

On cold nights the gas fireplace adds some extra coziness, and the flatscreen cable TV with a Wii and DVD player will keep you entertained. There's a surround sound stereo for movies and music, and WiFi for Internet surfing.

In the kitchen you'll find everything you need to cook a delicious family meal, with extras like a mixer, blender, slow cooker, and dishwasher to make things easy. You'll enjoy the beach-style decorations that give this room a fun atmosphere.

A dining table will fit everyone for a meal together in the bright room, and will also provide a great space to play one of the board games you'll find at the house!

When you're ready for a cocktail, head out onto the back deck and let the ocean view sweeten your drink! With a table, patio chairs, hand-carved bench, and a gas grill, you can multi-task while sitting out here, or just relax and enjoy all the cool decorations - the bald eagle over your head, the parrot on the fence, and the buoys draping the deck.

There's a small green lawn and an outdoor firepit perfect for roasting s'mores. The yard is fenced in, so feel free to bring your dogs to enjoy vacation (note a two-dog limit and small nightly fee). Beyond the gate, a small set of steps will lead you directly to the beach.

There are two bedrooms and two full baths, making this house comfortable for up to four adults and two children, with a maximum occupancy of six. Both rooms feature a king-size bed, though one is upstairs and the other is downstairs. The downstairs bedroom has access to the back deck and proximity to the laundry room with private washer/dryer. There are two twin rollaway beds upstairs that are great for kids.

This house is ideal for a small family or a couples retreat - the cozy house keeps you just feet away from the beach and provides a fun atmosphere to spend your vacation. Take a walk on the quiet stretch of sand, comb for agates, fly a kite, or take the two beach chairs down to sunbathe near the water. Then come back to enjoy a watercolor sunset with a matching cocktail from the back deck!

Drive the short distance north to Waldport to enjoy any number of restaurants, including Grand Central Pizza, Carol's Cafe, and Salty Dawg Bar & Grill on the river. There's a variety of shops and boutiques to explore, and you can find some fresh seafood at the market to bring back and cook in your kitchen. If you like to catch your own seafood, you can crab for free from the port, go fishing in the Alsea River, or clam in the bay at low tide.

If you're at a loss of what to do, you can always take a scenic drive up or down Highway 101 along the coast to find your favorite viewpoint and stop to see the different towns! Yachats is a friendly town just five miles south of this home, and if you keep driving south a few miles you'll come across Cape Perpetua, one of the very best viewpoints along the entire coast. Newport, about 15 miles north of Waldport, offers a huge variety of shops, restaurants, and activities for all ages.

For a fun vacation with a small group right on the beach, this charming oceanfront house in Waldport will exceed your expectations - book today!

We loved our time here! It’s perfectly located for exploring Newport, Waldport, Yachats, and Cape Perpetua. The view was amazing as advertised! Access to the beach was easy and convenient. The house itself was clean and well appointed.
Lynn N. Jun 2019
Great stay in a great house. Two king beds were a plus. The home had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We, however, could not get the DVD player. to work and the directions did not match what was actually there. The beach is beautiful and was virtually empty most of the time. At first we thought the road noise was a problem, but soon barely noticed it. The fenced yard made the stay perfect with our two dogs. Thank you for sharing your home.
Isaiah E. Jun 2019
It was perfect!!!
Jane D. Jun 2019
House was everything one needed and the view was to die for. Would recommend.
cindy e. May 2019
We enjoyed the full ocean view and easy access to the beach. Roomy and comfortable for four adults and one kid. Our only frustration was that we brought dvds to watch and couldn’t get any of the DVD players to work. We spent about an hour trying to figure it out before giving up and just using our laptop.

Three years ago my husband and I rode the motorcycle to this location and house. We loved it then. We where blessed to be able to visit again. Shortly after our visit 3 years ago my husband was in an accident.
When he got better (took 2 years, 8 months just to walk) we wanted a vacation and we both agreed to again book this home.
Our stay was peaceful everything you need is there. Clean home plenty of room and can’t even express how beautiful the view is. My husband loves walking the beach, so to be able to step right out the door and be on the beach it was a plus. Myself I’m not much of a beach walker, so being able to just sit in the comfortable chair and watch from the living room was perfect.
Restaurants are close by and so many other places to visit, up and down the coastline.
Don’t miss out, book this gem.
Valerie B. May 2019
Clean, comfortable. Close to things yet out of the busy towns. Just wish we would had beach access as advertised. Had to use the local public Access which was not safe due to loose footing.
But love the house. Hope to go back next year.
Manager response:
We are glad you had a great stay! We apologize that the private beach access was not available during your stay. It is currently under repair and will be fixed shortly. We hope to host you again soon!
Jim W. Apr 2019
love being on the ocean. nice house and this time of year very private.
Lauren K. Apr 2019
I have been vacationing on the Oregon Coast for about 20 years. This house by far is the best little house we have stay at. Great location, close to just about everything you could think of to do on the Coast. This was our 3rd trip down from Washington to stay at this house and we are coming back in Sept.
Tamara P. Mar 2019
This stretch of beach was beautiful! The dog, the kids and we adults all loved every minute of it. The house was well appointed. Felt like home away from home. Hope to visit again!
Nina T. Mar 2019
This is the second time we have stayed here and will be back for a third. We have a sisters and cousins week at the beach every year and love this house. It is comfortable with everything you could ask for including an amazing ocean view.
Lana C. Mar 2019
We had this perfect little beach house for 15 days and it was the perfect getaway. The house had everything you needed and so cozy. It is in a great location for your "home base" to go out and explore the nearby sights. Only a short drive to Yachats or Waldport to enjoy restaurants and shops. The best part of the day was sitting in front of the big windows watching the waves roll in. We would definitely return and recommend this place to our friends and family.
Patricia H. Feb 2019
House was very clean, well equiped, the fireplace was very nice and the view was awesome.
Ronda M. Feb 2019
Loved the view, the beach front access and the decor.
Margi L. Feb 2019
Super location, right on the beach. With easy access! We loved sitting on the chairs in the window, as well as those on the backyard. Well equipped and comfy beds. A bit of highway noise, but the surf sounds made up for that!
janet t. Dec 2018
The house was as advertised, right on the beach. The first night it rained dramatically and was great to watch the storm through the picture windows. The rest of the stay was sunny and we watched harbor seals every morning with our coffee! The only slightly negative was the back yard had not been cleaned and I had to pick up the old dog poop before letting my dog out. Also, the pillow top on the bed downstairs has a tendency to slide off during the night. Otherwise, the house is comfortable, well appointed (we contributed a cheese grater to the utensils!), and has a good game selection. We would definitely come back.
Robin T. Nov 2018
Loved the beach and watching the waves and tide!
Katie P. Oct 2018
Right on the beach, clean and comfortable
Lauren K. Oct 2018
We loved the location, right on the beach, we came down in May and loved it so much we came back in Oct, The kitchen is stocked with just about everything you could need. The beds are comfortable. The house was really clean. WE will be back again.
Lorrie K. Sep 2018
Private deck and back yard with direct access to beach. House was beautiful and very cute with all the amenities. Ocean front view can't be beat. We loved it!
Melanie G. Sep 2018
Everything about our stay was wonderful. The house was beautiful and very well stocked with all you would need. Beautiful sunsets every night and long walks on the beach.
Jamie S. Aug 2018
The house was cute, a little corky, and clean. My family really enjoyed the home and location. The house is right off the pacific coast highway so a little loud in the rooms but all in all we really enjoyed it and will be back!
Moira G. Aug 2018
The location & vie s were stunning
A beautiful beach
Everything was provided. The property was very comfortable. We loved it!
Gary H. Aug 2018
Just steps from the beach. Clean and modern.
Gayathri S. Jul 2018
Good view of the beach from upstairs and easy access to the beach from the downstairs bedroom. The lounge chairs on the living room was comfortable. However, there was a really strong and bad odor on the upstairs area. Not sure what it was but it was really uncomfortable so tried to open all the windows and it still didn't go away. The kitchen could do with some basic amenities like sugar and coffee. Overall satisfactory but will consider other places for next time.
Barbara S. Jul 2018
Spent hours just watching the waves.
Yes, upstairs bedroom extremely noisy with 101 traffic but you can hear the roar of the ocean.
Downstairs bedroom great view but everyone needs to go through the bedroom to get to the sheltered deck or go through the front door past 2 houses and around the beach side to get to the deck.
The most disappointing was the obvious pet urine stains on the upstairs carpet.
The house binder could use updating as the LR T V has been upgraded. Not everyone is tech savvy. VaCasa person very helpful and even sent out someone to help us.
Unfortunately, left behind our GPS, charger and winshield mount. Too bad the persons after us didn't report it. Hopefully, they will find it in their things and contact VaCasa.
Manager response:
We have updated the TV notes and appreciate having this oversight brought to our attention. We were unable to find any pet stains, but we will continue to monitor the carpet. Thank you!
Walter & Linda F. Jun 2018
Right on the beach, couldn't do better. Located in the mid coastal area, travel north travel south DO IT ALL !
Heidi R. May 2018
Loved that we could walk straight out from our bedroom to the ocean! Slept great because the beds were comfortable and that means alot.
Michael F B. Apr 2018
Loved our stay here! The yard and proximity to the beach is perfect. Every possible amenity or need has been considered and accommodated.
Jim W. Apr 2018
want to keep a secrete
Robin B. Apr 2018
I loved the ocean views from this house! Easy access to the beach. House was beautiful and VERY CLEAN!
Nina L. Apr 2018
We enjoyed our short weekend stay at this awesome home that offered such a great view from the living room AND access to the beach just steps away! The home was very clean when we checked in, the kitchen was well equipped AND our kids enjoyed the Wii system! Thank you for allowing us to stay at your rental and we will definitely return!
Casey B. Mar 2018
This home is clean and well kept. The location couldn’t get any better! This was our second time staying here and we hope to be back again in coming years!
Sharon G. Mar 2018
Second time we stayed. The home is very comfortable. The stairs are challenging for people in their 70's and 80's. The Wi-Fi did not work, we called management, they had it fixed in no time. Extraordinary bakery in Waldport, worth the stay just for the delicious bread and pastries. Hope to stay again.
ROSEMARY S. Feb 2018
The large picture windows provide a spectacular view of the ocean. The house is clean and comfortable. The only drawback is road noise from being right next to major street. We go used to it so that it did not lessen enjoyment of stay, but we would have preferred to be away from street.
CHARLES N. Jan 2018
We stayed four nights and wished we could have stayed longer. It fit us perfectly. The downstairs bedroom had easy access to the beach. The upstairs living room has a great view of the ocean. The big windows gave lots of light for working on a seascape painting.
Pam And Steve D. Jan 2018
If you are wanting a place to stay with a view this is the best, in the upstairs bedroom the road was a little noisy at night but overall this was a great place to stay. Your dog will enjoy this place they can look out every window if you have a big dog.
Amy W. Dec 2017
Great local, view couldn’t be beat. Living room furniture was a bit shabby and need of repair, but we would definitely stay again.
Laura D. Dec 2017
Relax in front of the fire and soak in the terrific view — waves, sunset, and migrating sea lions for hours. Great kitchen, comfy beds, and steps to the beach. You can definitely hear traffic on 101 all day and night, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.
Gretchen R. Nov 2017
A great place, very comfortable, literally walk out the door to the beach. Covered back porch, fenced yard, my dog loved it and so did I. This is a place I will come back to! Well furnished kitchen, very comfortable furniture, great place to relax. Also easy access to all things central coast.
Galilee B. Oct 2017
This house has a fantastic panoramic view of the ocean and the beach. The wonderful walking beach is truly just steps away. Despite highway traffic noise, the house was a cozy little nest. Included is a lot of cooking gear, utensils, and tableware of good quality. Washer and dryer is a big plus. Our cell phone signal was nonexistent, but the WiFi access worked great. For a rental that is dog-friendly and affordable, this is a great place.
Roberta S. Oct 2017
The beach and view from the home was fantastic. Loved walking on the beach ,
easy to get there from the back yard.
The home was very nicely furnished and very comfy.
The stairs are quite steep to the main floor, if you are older, but once you get up there the view is fantastic.
I would highly recommend this home.
Joyce H. Oct 2017
The views are incredible, beach access is incredible and the beach it great. The House was well equipped, kitchen, linens, dishes, etc. carpet was horrible, stained, smelly. Recliners needed either cleaned or replaced, fireplace did not work. All of this said I think the house itself was fine, funky, cute and the location great. it would not take a lot to make it fantastic but please take care of these problems. If they are remedied I would certainly rent again.
Manager response:
The propane has been refilled so the fireplace is working, and both the carpets and chairs have been professionally cleaned. Thank you!
Laura H. Sep 2017
The beds were awesome. The view incredible. There are a lot of stairs to the main living space, which could be an issue for older folks. It has a secure yard space for pets with easy access to the beach. The parking is tight, but once you are inside its all worth it, and you hardly notice the traffic from the highway.
Connie N. Aug 2017
My family had a great time staying at the house. it was clean and well equipped. A great view from the picture windows and you can't beat the beach access. We had difficulty using some of the offered electronicsbut overall a great place to stay.
Pat S. Aug 2017
Nice 2 bedroom, 2 bath house with fenced yard and steps down to beach. Huge windows for viewing ocean and sunset. You do need to climb stairs to the main living area.
Amy N. Jul 2017
It was an amazing home, with a beautiful view ! The beach was right out the door I would highly recommend this home !
Elissa E. Jul 2017
This was our second stay here. We love the location, and the beach access is unbeatable. Lovely sunsets that we got to view through large windows. Kitchen is stocked really well. Beds are comfy. Our only issue was pet hair and pet smell. We're not dog owners, so those things stand out. Yes, I realize it's a pet friendly home. I just wished owners hadn't let their pets climb all over the furniture. I would still stay here again and recommend this house - but maybe not as much for non-dog people.
Katie R. Jul 2017
We got married on the beach right down the steps from the house and it was perfect!! We hope to be back for our 1 year anniversary!
Christine V. Jun 2017
This place is clean, fenced in, and has a clean smell when you walk in. The house was spotless. When we decided to watch a movie we could not get the DVD to work so we called the help number and Justin came by within the hour and replaced the DVD!!!! We were extremely impressed. Also the beach is easy access, beautiful to watch in those easy chairs by the window. The beds were clean and so comfy. The kitchen and pantries were fully stocked as well with all the extras; towels, TP, Paper towels, garbage bags, even for doggies. I also left something behind and Justin called me right away and had it sent to my house same day!!! These people are a great team and really care. We love this place!!
Dale W. Jun 2017
We really enjoyed our time here! The house was centrally located between excellent dining in Newport and Florence. It is a great place to decompress while walking on the quiet beach. The house was clean and smelled fresh, and although it is close to Hwy 101, traffic is sparse compared to Newport and cities to the North. There is even a large eagle that we saw on our walks! We will be back!
Jennifer C. May 2017
Everything was amazing. No one wanted to leave and go home. The only time I noticed the road noise was if the window was open. Then it was loud. There was a dead sea lion one house over so the smell was bad on the beach. The big outside light was awesome while it rained at night. Plus we had thunder and lightening the next day. I thought a bomb went off. We are hoping to return again.
Geil L. May 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed our week here. There were a few problems with the cleaning which were taken care of as soon as they were reported. The photos of the property showed a telescope in the front room so we did not bring our binoculars. When we arrived there wasn't a telescope, and the binoculars were broke. Again, as soon as we reported it they began the process of fixing it. One of the cleaning ladies, Toni, loaned us a pair of her personal binoculars. The next day, the manager, Justin, brought over a new telescope and a new pair of binoculars. They stepped up and made sure our stay was what we wanted it to be. The place was comfortable, the cooking supplies were better than most other places, plenty of towels, washer and dryer. It was right on the shore and we could watch the tide as it came in and went out. We were there at the wrong time to see much sea life activity.

For 3 senior people, the only draw back is the small and short height of the toilets. This is the only thing that will keep us from renting this specific place again. We will rent from VACASA again if they all have this quality of customer service.
Becky B. May 2017
Really nice house. The upstairs living are had a great view and the set up was very user friendly. It was very rainy when we were there so it was great to have a nice living area to hang out in and watch the ocean. Nice walking beach. Worked well for our dog although it is close to the highway. The yard is completely fenced.
Sam J. Apr 2017
We will definitely be back. Kids loved it.
Teresa C. Apr 2017
I love using Vacasa to rent homes for vacations. They are always extremely helpful and have a variety of homes that fit your needs. I loved this beach house, It is a beautiful home and love the fact that it is right on the beach and had a fenced area that we could let our dogs out. The one drawback is that the house is in my opinion to close to Hwy 101. You can hear the traffic go by especially the big trucks late at night.
Amanda B. Mar 2017
We loved every bit of our stay here. We'll be back someday!!
Ashlyn G. Mar 2017
Such a great spot - private beach access, and an amazing view to enjoy, even when the weather on the coast isn't perfect. We had a great weekend even with stormy weather, enjoying the comfy chairs in front of the huge windows overlooking the beach and the full kitchen that allowed us to make most of our dinners while staying cozy and warm inside. Would definitely recommend this place, and we look forward to visiting again in the summer someday.
Lydia S. Mar 2017
Pros:
Awesome view, easy beach access, comfortable seating, tv, kitchen amenities, plenty of clean towels, washer & dryer, carved wizard was awesome!, flood light
Cons:
Sliding glass patio door goes through the downstairs bedroom, kitchen stove finicky, telescope didn't work, fireplace out of order, right next to Hwy 101
Christine V. Mar 2017
We completely enjoyed our stay. The house seemed to be repainted well maintained and updated inside and out! The beach access was perfect. We can't wait to come back!!
Thank you for the freshness and updates!!
Lori S. Feb 2017
Very well kept home, beautiful view, right on the sandy beach. Bring your boots! Pet friendly and convenient with fenced yard. Very clean. Comfy beds. Main living area is on top floor, up long flight of stairs. Great to barbeque on the back porch, while watching the waves crash! Easy drive into Yachats. Would definitely stay again.
Tricia K. Feb 2017
This is a great little get away with lots to see and do in the area.
Greg C. Feb 2017
It was a beautiful spot. We enjoyed every minute. Lots of long walks on the beach with our dog. We met lots of wonderful people along the way . Hoping to come back again. Maybe making it a tradition . Great way to spend our Anniversary. Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven.
Stephen U. Feb 2017
The house was very cozy. Our little dog loved the fenced in yard for exploring. Just ten steps down from the yard to the beach, wonderful. Rally enjoyed watching the seals and the waves from the huge windows, very comfortable chairs. The beds were comfortable also. The only drawback was the traffic noise from Highway 101.
We would definitely stay at this home again.
Isaac M. Jan 2017
Wonderful ocean view, and a fully equipped kitchen right on the beach. What more could you want for the price? Great location too, right between yachats and waldport. Clean and well maintained, I love their slightly funky style. Only negatives are a slight odor from the dogs, older furniture and a fair amount of road noise from 101. Big stump beach right off the back yard though! Love this place, thanks!
Stephanie M. Jan 2017
Great place to stay as a family. Needed a baby gate for the stairs. Great location right on the beach!
Elissa E. Jan 2017
We loved our stay! It felt very homey and comfortable. The furnishings are great, kitchen is stocked, beds are nice, decor is cute, and the view is unbeatable.
Allen G. Dec 2016
One of our favorites. We have stayed in several different locations and this is at the top of our list. Close enough to Newport, Sea Lion Caves to make it worth returning to.
Kimberly W. Dec 2016
About twice a year, my mom visits and we spend time on the Oregon coast (I live in OC and she lives in Florida). We've been looking for the last five years for a place we loved so much we will come back to and It's Five O'clock somewhere is that place. We had storms most of the time but wow, the view was amazing. And at high tide, the water comes right up to the steps! I couldn't believe that. For us, we didn't mind because it was so cool to see the water come so close.

I brought my two little shih tzus with us and we had a blast on the beach and the fact there was a nice little fenced yard was perfect. I was a bit worried about them going under the house so keeping them from doing that was tiring but I managed. It's very clean under there but I was worried they'd find a visitor or a way to get out. LOL

Easy and low steps to the beach and miles of great sand. It was pretty deserted so we had the beach to ourselves.

I will mention, as others have, that the house is close to Hwy 101 and there is traffic noise. I stayed in the downstairs (first level) bedroom and honestly didn't hear a lot (except for loud engines)--I mostly heard the ocean. My mom stayed in the upstairs room which is closer to the Hwy so she heard the vehicles more than I did since the downstairs was backside/beach side.

I was amazed that there were so many heat controls. We kept it low 'cause Mom and I love the cold but in the downstairs bathroom--well it was nice to have a heater in there.

Hmm. What else? I can't think of anything else except to say. Oh, LOL, we couldn't find a rolling pin so if you want to bake rolled cookies or pies or anything that requires a crust (that you make) bring a rolling pin! We had an interesting time making our pie but managed. If there was one there, we couldn't find it.

We both loved the place very much and I'll be back with my writer friends and mom and I will be back--we've found a place to love and return to again and again. Thank you!!!
Pennie F. Dec 2016
We wanted a place that is dog friendly. Even though this is right next to 101 hi way the fenced in yard is so so nice. They have tried to set it up for you with a doggie door to get into the area with the fence. It was just my husband and myself this time and the dogs of course and just steps away from long walks on the beach is so wonderful. That is my fav thing to do is take the dogs for walks and watch them romp away.
They even furnish you with doggie bags to pick up your doggie poo. The place is very nice and so wonderful to watch storms or the ocean waves. Even a full kitchen including a Keurig for coffee. My husband and myself made some fresh salsa and guacamole and watched the ocean. Perfect in anybody book.!!! Making the reservation was super simple and no problems at all in getting into the house or finding it.
Katia . Nov 2016
We had a delightful stay at this property in late October. Our group was 2 adults, 2 small children and 1 outside dog.

The location was fabulous. Yes, it is right off Hwy 101 but that is because the beach is RIGHT THERE. This was great for us because even though it was Oregon in October, from the bay windows you can see the breaks in the weather. This gave us plenty of time to suit up the kids and head right out on the beach for some fun between storms.

The long, sandy beach is literally steps away. We found plenty of broken sand dollars and shells and even though the beach is not well known for agates, we found several sizable opaque and amber colored agates. (There was also nice agate hunting to the north at Seal Rock and Ona Beach).

Most vacation rentals that permit pets have limited or no facilities for outdoor pets. The yard was awesome for dogs. I was a little worried about leaving our dog out in the yard considering the highway is so close but the owners have done an expert job at making sure the yard is dog-tight even for smaller breeds. The back deck is also covered so there was plenty of space that was dry and out of the weather to setup the kennel.

The proximity to Waldport and Newport was perfect. Just close enough to get supplies or dinner but far enough away to have peace and quiet. We enjoyed stopping in for treats in Waldport at the Chocolate Frog and Pacific Sourdough (a must-see! Only open Thursday and Saturday).

The upstairs bed is quite uncomfortable as other reviews have noted. The good news is that it can be fixed. The super soft mattress topper feels like sleeping in hot quicksand. After the first night we removed the foam topper, shoved it in the closet and were able to sleep comfortably from then on out.

Another issue that came up was an invasion of pesky sugar ants (the first big storm of the season hit right before our visit and they moved in from the weather). Vacasa was great and put us in touch with the local manager right away.

One final thing to note for other families with small children, the main living area of the house is upstairs. I knew this before arriving but it didn’t really sink in until we arrived. To keep our crawling/toddling baby from tumbling down the stairs we stationed our large cooler at the top.

Overall great house with a funky and eclectic style. The nice location and great views make this a perfect stop over for summertime beach fun or winter storm watching. We can’t wait to return!
Colleen L. Oct 2016
Beautifully decorated and neat as a pin! This home and location is awesome! It is right off the highway so it can be a little noisy at times but we live right next to railroad tracks so we are used to a little noise. We focused on the sound of the ocean as that was why we were there. My husband and I (and our dog Koda) celebrated our 35th Anniversary on this vacation. Although a lot of time was spent indoors viewing the storm that lasted 4 out of the 5 days we were there, we just loved watching the waves come in and talking about the tides and loving the sunrises and sunsets. The kitchen has everything you can think of for cooking delicious meals. All of the appliances worked perfectly, The WIFI connected easily, the TV remotes were not to hard to figure out and there are light switches everywhere. There's even a telescope (and small binoculars) for star gazing out the large windows.
The high tide comes up close to the back yard but even during the storm it didn't reach us. The beach seems to have that real soft sand and is very clean. We watched the birds gather and search for food in the mornings and they would fly right in front of the windows. One morning we were shocked to see an eagle out in front of the beach!! Another morning, my husband called out to me and showed me something that washed up right in front of our windows. We looked for about 30 seconds and it looked like a sea animal with a fin. We decided quickly that he needed to go and get it back into the water as it looked like a baby shark or dolphin. I thought OH, this is a good deed and story to tell the grandchildren when we get back home. The waves came in and flipped it around and I thought it was going to get washed back into the ocean and this time I was pretty sure it was a dolphin!!! I watched him go outside in the blustery wind and walk up to it...he looked at me through the window and shook his head...my heart sank...I thought perhaps it was nearly dead....turns out....it was just an unusually shaped piece of driftwood!!!
The only reason I would not recommend this home is if they are in a wheelchair or have severe problems with walking up the stairs. The kitchen, dining/living room, and one bedroom and bathroom are all upstairs with one bedroom and bathroom downstairs with the deck, backyard, and beach access from the yard.
We very much enjoyed our stay!

Very nice place! Enjoyed our time there! Thanks to the floodlight we were able to see the greatest sideways rain storm! I'm 74 and a constant visitor to the beach my whole life and have NEVER seen anything like it.

This house was a great place to stay. Nice wide beach right out the back door. Perfect for our family and dog. Some notes, pending your personal preferences. Check the location carefully: it's right on highway 101. We were a little worried about this for kids and dog, but its pretty carefully fenced. Just gotta watch out for the dog running off the beach and up to the road. The upstairs bed is also ridiculously soft... hard to overstate how much so. Also we found it very difficult to cool off the upstairs floor, where the living room and kitchen are.

Such an easy walk to the beach! With a nice enclosed front yard, safe for us and the dog, fire pit, covered porch option with bench and table, huge grill, nice beach chairs, you can't go wrong. The inside was immaculate, full of stuffed lounge chairs and beautifully set up. This place is a favorite and we're coming back the very next chance we can. Thank you for the great vacation!!!

The place was great and right on the beach. The fenced in yard made it worry free for sitting around with our lab enjoying the sunset. It was our first time on the Oregon west coast and we would stay here again. Thanks for sharing your home.

Not handicap or elderly friendly. Long stairs to living area. Toilets are very low.
very loud traffic noise from hey 101
On the plus side -fantastic view, fully equipped, right on the beach.
Manager response:
We are sorry if this home's layout did not work well for this group; we do have a handful of homes in our portfolio advertised as being elderly and/or handicap accessible, but this home is not one of them. Please call us at 503-345-9399 if you need assistance in finding one of these homes. Thank you!

While our stay in this home was acceptable, I would not stay here again.
I accept full responsibility for it. I should have used google earth to see how close the home is to the highway. You could hear every car that went by even on the beach unless you were right down next to the water.
The home was appointed well enough. It could have been cleaned better. There was quite a bit of human hair in the upstairs bathroom. It also smelled like someone may have smoked in there recently.. That did go away after we aired it out. The location between Waldport and Yachats was very convenient. There were plenty of dishes and cookware. The steps to the beach were very well maintained.

We loved the house. We will be back.

Perfect little cottage if you want a nice, uncrowded beach. Loved the fact that we could hear the ocean from the house. There was some highway noise but I focused on the sound of the ocean and didn't really even notice it after a short time of arriving. We love that area because it is a low key and away from the bustle of the more populated coastal areas. Fun house with a little funk.

I was very impressed with this home. It was clean, beautiful and so close to the ocean. My kids and I loved it. It was perfect for my family. I will defiantly be back. I would rate this place a 10.

Great home right on the water has all the things you need. Located very close to so many small little coastal towns. It is everything that it says it is. Loved it! It is right on the beach and the view is amazing.

Nice quiet location, clean and tidy, prompt service and help. Very uncomfortable beds, seem to need mattresses replaced, consequently a not so restful sleep.

We had a short but great visit at this home. I wasn't sure about the twin cots but they fit in the living room and were brand new (we unwrapped them!) Definitely a dog friendly home so if you are sensitive about it, burn the nice candle in the kitchen. Only bummer was lack of coffee (and knowledge of a kcup machine beforehand) upon arrival. We are very experienced renters and this is the first house in 10 years that's never had any! Also, no spices or oil etc. If you are only staying 2 nights or so, grab those before you get there (normally we stay longer and bring our own). BUT the beach access was amazing and totally kid/grandparent friendly. We watched the kids from the living room and back patio. Beach was so private and just perfect. Thanks for sharing your home!!

there's nothing quite like a quick break from the city in a perfect little home right on the beach with all you favorite amenities (wifi, cable, dvd player, WII, bbq, fire pit, fenced in yard, and on and on). This house was perfect for us and our two dogs. I would definitely stay here again.

I think it was a positive experience, I do believe that the cleaning fee is a little high considering there was a lot of dog hair from previous visitors that was left behind but everything else was in great condition and there was a bit of an odd smell to the house from the previous pads that have been allowed to stay in the home. We would stay there again though.
Thanks!
Manager response:
We are sorry to see that pet hair and pet odors were an issue and will do our best to clean it up.

Right on a long and wide stretch of beach with just a few stairs to get there. Our old dog appreciated the long walks on the beach and the cool sand under the porch to lay on afterwards. We appreciated the well appointed kitchen, great views and peace and quiet of the area. Just a few minutes to Waldport or Yachats we were close enough to run into town for a meal but far enough away to just listen to the ocean.
