We loved the Aloha House. It met all our needs for a birthday celebration. The view of the ocean is amazing. It is well designed for a group of people with lots of room in the common spaces. The weekend we stayed was full of rain (unseasonable weather for mid-May) which meant we spent the weekend inside. With the roominess of the home, the view and the fireplace, it still was an awesome weekend.

Well equipped kitchen, amazing views, and close proximity to the ridge trail made this a great place for a low key weekend with friends. The hot tub worked well and kept us warm on a few cold evenings. Some of the linens and finishes are a bit outdated, but mostly just style and not function. Would stay again!

From the moment we stepped through the beautiful front door we were home. This open design with fantastic ocean views offered the rest and relaxation we were looking for.

And nice views. The only thing to be aware of is one of the queen size beds is IN the master bedroom which was a little awkward (though there is a barrier wall between the beds), and only two bathrooms for seven people.

The open plan and windows on the water make for a great place for family gatherings. The house is well equipped without clutter and pet friendly. The hot tub made for wonderful place to view the night sky.

The view from the living room/dining room/kitchen (a huge space in the “great room” style) is fabulous. While the house is not right on the bluff, it has a fabulous ocean view all the way down to Salt Point. There is a path from the backyard to the Bluff Trail. Master bedroom has a fabulous ocean view, too, and is spacious, with a study and master bath attached. The other two bedrooms are small and right off the living room area, with a bath between them. We thought the kitchen was just fine, but the refrigerator is on the small side. You can close a gate across the driveway to create a fenced yard for your dog (but —warning — a small dog will be able to go under the fence).

The location and view near Walk on Beach was excellent. The house is a bit tired; typical for most rentals. Master, on the ocean, did not have windows that one could open to listen to the sound. Kitchen, while having loads of stuff, had few really good fry pans and the stove, microwave and dishwasher were all ancient but in working order. Decent rental but there are better ones available.

This was our annual Mother's Day weekend in Sea Ranch. There were 6 of us including 1 1/2 yr twins so 3-4 bedrooms were needed. The master bathroom is through another bedroom and has no door so hard to use without disturbing occupant of that bedroom. The living area of the house though has a nice open floor plan with easy access to a large deck area and then to a mowed green area so great for kids. And beautiful ocean views!! The kitchen is very well-stocked and part of the open area. There is a large table and another smaller round one so plenty of seating. Upon arrival we opened windows to air it out and in two of the bedrooms the windows were dirty and hard to use. We contacted the manager, Joann, and she responded that night and then came out herself the next morning to thoroughly address the window issue by opening them, removing the screens and cleaning everything! We were very impressed with her response and the time spent.
The house is older and there are some items that could be updated (I would suggest mounting the TV away from children), but it was comfortable for us and had everything we needed. The hot tub worked well and we used it every night - it even has a sliding gate to block access from the deck when children are present. When you rent, look in every cabinet as there is useful stuff everywhere! We would rent here again as it was private, functional, close to the ocean and bluff trails and in a great location...and we had lots of creature sightings - turkeys, deer, pelicans and even some seal pups just off the bluff trail in back of the house~

Architecturally each important room has two sides in the form of an "L" so that sunshine is present all day. Plus decks outside
away from the wind provide great places for enjoying the views. A fine house with ocean view and few neighbors.
Gary B. May 2018
The view from the house was terrific. The proximity to beach access and the Shell Beach overview was a huge plus. The house was well-stocked and would have been great for six people, but we had seven (the bathroom situation for the master bedroom required either walking through the office/bedroom or using the bathroom at the other end). The acoustics in the living area made things extra loud, and we had two children and a barking dog in our group. But overall, we enjoyed the stay very much.

This house is even nicer than it appears in photos. Spacious living room with stunning private views and decks.

Was just me, wife and newborn, but the place had three bedrooms and a Murphy bed.

A really special home in a really special location.
Darren W. Mar 2018
Place has everything you need and an amazing location. Close to town. Close to trails. Everything was clean. Fireplace was a breeze and kitchen well stocked.
Cindy W. Nov 2017
Very relaxing, as the house was super quite. Nice furnishings, pots, & pans, etc. The hot tub was wonderful, as it was very private in a setting that was public.
Beds, & pillows were super comfy.
Joan F. Nov 2017
Really only 3 bedrooms here --- since the master and 4th bedroom & bath are all connected.
David H. Oct 2017
Lots of windows and light, open floor plan. Awesome
Karen R. Sep 2017
We absolutely loved the house, location, weather, wildlife and walking trails! Very spacious living area for us to gather for meals and evening relaxation time. We stayed for 3 nights and definitely would stay longer next time. Great place for family holiday retreat.
Charlotte S. Sep 2017
Beautiful location and views. House well stocked. Large and comfortable living area.
Murphy bed in room adjoining master bedroom is uncomfortable and bedroom has to be accessed to get to master bath. Ok if family member.

We stayed at the Aloha house over Labor Day weekend with two families. Four adults and two 10 year olds and two 12 year old kids. The house was perfect for our group. We loved the deck on the back of the house and ate there each evening. We happened to be in Sea Ranch for one of the warmest weekends - it was 87 degrees and this was unusual but kept us outside as the house doesn't have air conditioning. At night temps cooled off and we all used the hot tub. During the day we walked along the cliff trail, went to the beach and looked at the tide pools. The home was relaxing and well equipped. We we would definitely stay there again.
Julie A. Aug 2017
The house is a good size - we were six people staying there - and has wonderful views from the living area and master bedroom. Was wonderful to wake up in the morning looking directly out on the ocean. The location of the house is excellent and, as always, Sea Ranch delivers on spectacular views, great walking trails and lovely beaches.

I wish to be fair and explain my rating on this house. Two parts to this review- 1st is the location of the home and 2nd the condition. LOCATION: I have been renting houses in sea ranch for close to 25 years, so I have probably been to 40-50 oceanfront homes there. I brought my dog on this trip which limited the choices. I had never seen this house before and asked the booking agent if it was truly whitewater views (where you could see waves hitting the cliffs near you) and if the sounds of the pounding waves were obvious from the master bedroom. She assured me yes on both. For me the pounding sounds of the surf at night is why I come. I was told and it says on website, that it is only 100 yards from the house to the cliffs. That should be 40 steps or so. That was farther than I like but I took it based on the assurance. Beware, this house does NOT have whitewater views, (it has blue water views) and is separated from the cliffs by a meadow. You have to walk thru thismeadow (w/stickers) to get to the famous walking path along cliffs edge. You cannot hear the ocean except ever so faintly and that would only be, if you kept the door wide open (with no screen on it). Keeping a door open at night w/ no screen invites raccoons and your dog gets out. So no sounds of the ocean for me. If thats not your thing you may like the placement of the house more than I did. But whether you do or don’t, the photos and wording on the website are purposefully misleading. I counted the steps from house to the cliffs off the deck in the picture. It is easily 350-400 yards. Why would you say 100 yards when it is 3-4 times further?, except to oversell a home. Just be honest. Many people might not care, but I surely would have. The other thing I’ll say is that you will not see the sun setting into the ocean from this deck as there is an extreme southern orientation to the deck and if you look west you'll be looking at the side of the house next door blocking your view of any ocean. CONDITION: It was clean and tidy upon entrance. This is a classic sea ranch rental where the owners do the minimum. 3 of 6 of the tiny open-able windows in Master bedroom wont open, either due to broken handles or sheer age. Hard to get air in the room with no windows to let that beautiful ocean air in. The master bath has a huge bathtub that you have to climb into (its sort of HIGH) to use the shower. An older less able man would have trouble. The handle to choose bath spout or shower broke in my hand the first time I used it. I was still able to get it to turn. The cold water handles simply spins in your hand and you have to push it in REALLY hard to get it to still grab. Geesh get this plumbing fixed. If you take a bath in there there is only enough hot water avail to fill the tub 1/3rd at most, so you are lying in water that does not even cover you. Not relaxing. Each screen door in the place either has a broken handle, or the screen can fall off its tracks (which it did twice), when you open it. Appliances are very low end but worked. The hot tub water was cloudy, a hot tub should be crisp and clear when properly maintained. I had been told a week before I went that the owner had allowed the internet to be “not working” for close to a month, before I noticed the review of such and demanded that it be fixed before my arrival. Vacasa was very helpful in making this fix before I got there. But letting a rental go a month with no internet told me this house is owned by folks not really invested in keeping their place in good working order for their guests. And that was my experience big time while there. If you want true oceanfront this is not the house.
Manager response:
We're sorry the guest experienced these issues. The property manager spoke with them before their stay and notified them of a new internet provider that should provide a more reliable signal. The tub handle was repaired immediately and the hot tub was inspected and cleaned thoroughly. The screens are in the process of being repaired. Thank you.

Out of the 10+ different houses we've stayed in Sea Ranch, this has been one of our favorites! It's far away from the path on the Cliffs that people don't wave at you while you eat dinner, but you still have a beautiful unobstructed view! The house is nice and open, which also helps make for great views throughout. Out of the 3 or 4 property management companies up there, I like dealing with Vacasa the most and their houses tend to be cleanest and well stocked, which this house was both.
Connie T. Jul 2017
Excellent property. Open floor plan that make a large group comfortable. Spa is wonderful. Wish it had a third bathroom, but we made it work.
Jean L. Jul 2017
Great location if you can survive without internet !
Joyce S. Jun 2017
Enjoyed walking, looking at the views, being in the hot tub, playing games and cooking meals.
Michael L. May 2017
Let's just say, we checked to see if this house was for sale after our stay....we loved it and the location that much!
Adean R. May 2017
Well equipped beautiful house. Look forward to staying again.
Jan S. Apr 2017
Roomy house with great kitchen although outdated. Loved the multiple outside seating areas with views of the ocean and meadow. Lots of deer and birds. Easy access to beach and mammal sanctuary.
Chris B. Apr 2017
Wonderful location with great proximity to beaches, trails and seal rookery. The house is well appointed and comfortable. Our family of four had plenty of room to spread out. Great deck for whale watching.
Stephanie F. Feb 2017
This house was in a perfect location to have open meadow space but also be close to the beach. Great for our dogs as you can close the gate by the front door. The floor plan is open and spacious. Great for two families.
Susan F. Feb 2017
We had a wonderful time here. The house is huge, comfortable and really well stocked. We'd definitely rent it again!
Rebecca M. Dec 2016
This house sleeps two families of 4 nicely. The living area is large and they have a good sized table where everyone can eat. The house is pretty centrally located so you can take a short drive to another part of The Sea Ranch and hike easily. You can also just leave the back of the house and be at the beach in under 5 minutes. Highly recommend this home.
Denise H. Dec 2016
The Aloha House is spacious, comfortable, well furnished and equipped and was the perfect place for our family get-away! We enjoyed walking the bluffs and exploring the beaches, the beautiful sunrises and the serene environment of Sea Ranch immensely. Our granddaughter loved the swimming pool and we all enjoyed the well-maintained jacuzzi with ocean view at the house! We highly recommend this home as a vacation rental!
Joan F. Nov 2016
The master bedroom situation is only ideal for one family together sharing the bathroom. The common rooms are large and open and the kitchen excellent. bedding and towels provided is a nice feature.
Phil K. Nov 2016
Since you have to walk through an adjoining bedroom to access the bathroom from the master bedroom, there could be a problem for some guests.
Jason H. Nov 2016
Great place.
David B. Nov 2016
Nice house! Very spacious and great location.
House is well maintained and well equipped. Super clean. Very comfortable beds.
Front bedroom arrangement a little funky as to access the bathroom from the bedroom you have to pass by another bedroom space but it totally worked for us being just me, my wife and our 4 year old boy. House could very easily accommodate another family of four but you'd have to fight over who gets the front bedroom with it's spectacular views.
Nice hot tub with ocean view.
We were just far away enough from the cliffs to feel safe with our 4 year old running around.
We'll stay there again.
Loisann K. Oct 2016
Nice location on the bluff area with lots of walking trails. NOT everyone picks up after their dogs so providing doggy bags out their with a garbage can would be the best option to keep it clean! Older house needs updating for sure but the location in front of the ocean was beautiful.
Maureen V. Sep 2016
very nice spot to relax and enjoy
Meghan K. Sep 2016
This house has great ocean views and access to trails along the bluffs. Deer and a little fox were daily visitors. We had a group of 5 and 2 dogs and this house easily accommodated us. Ideal set up for two families or two coupled. The large outdoor deck made outdoor activities easy.
Ronald & Maxine M. Aug 2016
Aloha house was perfect for our family gathering. We loved all the space indoor and outdoor. Would definitely love to return!
Sarah M. Aug 2016
Had a great week! The views are wonderful and the house was well equipped. Loved the outdoor/deck areas. 10-15 min walk to the beach with the kids were reasonable.
David J. Jul 2016
The location is an absolute knockout. That was about 90% of what I was after. We had two couples and kids. Because one of the bedrooms for kids is attached to the parents room privacy is a bit difficult. But the view from the master bedroom was so spectacular it didn't matter too much. Breathtaking experience. Can't wait to go again.
Maureen V. Jun 2016
The location of the house was amazing! The kitchen had everything that we needed for cooking. This house was perfect for our family vacation!
Richard S. Jun 2016
Everything about the property was great. The home was clean, spacious, and nicely furnished and appointed. Fabulous setting. We have visited Sea Ranch multiple times and this is the best place we have stayed.
Wyatt O. May 2016
Absolutely wonderful house has a great flow. Very well stocked kitchen and a perfect setting to enjoy the stay.
