Dog-friendly bayfront cottage in town w/incredible views, close to shops & beach

Perfect for a family, group of friends, and those who can't bear to leave their dogs behind, this bayfront cottage offers an incredible getaway to scenic Waldport. With a private grill for beachside barbecues, the sand and surf of the bay just steps from your door, and a quaint coastal town to explore, an unforgettable getaway to the Oregon Coast awaits.

Your new home away from home for seven sits right on the bay beach, just south of the bridge, of the small coastal town of Waldport. Several of the town's many shops and restaurants are just a few blocks away from your home, but you don't have to go anywhere to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you - bay beach access is just steps away through your backyard, and an amazing sunset over the bayfront can be enjoyed right from your living room.

This multi-level house offers a comfy, cozy beach vibe. The wide windows bring natural beauty into the home, alongside amazing views of the bay. The calming, soothing colors of the walls and plush furnishings create a relaxing atmosphere, and decorative touches further give this cottage a rustic, relaxing atmosphere.

The living room offers a large sofa, luxurious leather recliner, and two armchairs with matching stools perfect for everyone looking for a place to relax. The stereo provides relaxing music courtesy of your favorite CDs, and the cable flatscreen TV gives you plenty to watch, but it might prove difficult to rip yourself away from the breathtaking view of the sunset courtesy of the wall-sized window facing the waterfront. Full wireless Internet access lets you plan activities for the following day, or just upload some photos of the amazing sights just out your window.

The dining room offers a classic table for four with ornate wooden chairs, alongside paintings on the wall and a blue shelf covered in interesting trinkets. Larger groups (or those who just want to take in some ocean air with their meals) needn't worry - a plastic table outside seats four as well, with a great view of the water and the Alsea Bay Bridge to boot.

Cooking up something tasty for your group is a breeze thanks to the spacious, fully equipped kitchen. Gorgeous wooden cabinets house all the dishware you need, and the outdoor grill augments your wide selection of appliances when it comes to cooking options. Thanks to the dishwasher, cleanup is as easy as just bringing your plates back to the kitchen!

Up to seven lucky guests (and two dogs, for a nightly pet fee) can stay in this home's three bedrooms. The downstairs bedroom, located near one of the full baths with a stand-alone shower and the laundry room, offers a queen-size bed alongside a twin, while the two third-floor bedrooms boast a full-size bed and queen-size bed respectively.

This wide variety of bedding means guests of all ages can enjoy a restful night's sleep, and thanks to the three full baths, there won't be any lines to get clean and refreshed.

The gorgeous Oregon coastline is right outside in the form of Alsea Bay, which offers a wide variety of fun for adults and kids alike. And with ocean beach access just down the highway, any couples in the group can listen to the crashing waves as they take a romantic walk along the shore at high tide, while parents can take their kids beachcombing when the tide is low. This stretch of coastline is well known for its broad sand and great beachcombing opportunities, and tends to be relatively uncrowded!

The friendly town of Waldport offers ample opportunities for fishing, crabbing, and clamming in the river and bay for those who want to catch their own dinner. In between trips on the water, the nine holes of Crestview Golf Course are just over a mile from the house for guests looking to practice their swing, while those more interested in learning some history can enjoy the Waldport Heritage Museum just under a mile away. Whether you catch something tasty or dine out at one of Waldport's many nearby restaurants, a tasty meal is a perfect way to end a rich day on the coast.

Comfy, relaxing accommodations, a delightful town to explore, and beautiful bayfront right outside your windows - what are you waiting for? Get your vacation getaway started and place your reservation now!

Amazing views out the living room window! Had fun watching the sea lions and crabbing!

When renting this property PLEASE BE AWARE. The photos shown were professionally done and do not accurately depict the actual property or location. The house is quite old and not at all remotely located. The backyard is shared with a neighboring house which is only a few feet away. The view is of the bay; however, what is not shown clearly are all the buildings across the bay. You will see a large red “hotel” sign right where the sun is setting. The public parking lot adjacent to the house is also used throughout the night. People were out at 2AM and 3AM making noise right next to our bedroom window. The house was also not properly cleaned. We cleaned the couch that was covered in dust and hair. After all that we ended up checking out after the first night.
Manager response:
Hi, Daniel! We are sorry to see you had some disappointments with your visit. The house has been remodeled since the photos and is in wonderful shape. The house has been cleaned and inspected. Thank you!

We had 4 adults and 3 girls, 8 to 11 years old. The home was perfect for all of us, with the best feature being the location. It's right on the water - at low tide in the morning we would watch locals digging clams - and at higher tides kayakers would float by as the sunset loomed. My only complaint would be the small bathroom upstairs, and the tiny showers. The girls grabbed the downstairs room because it had two beds - I think it's the best bedroom/bathroom in the house! Great views at night of the sunset and the Alsea Bay Bridge. We would stay here again and have even more fun!

The cottage was wonderfully located in front of the bay, allowing for wildlife viewing right from the living room window. The place was clean, and thoughtfully decorated.

My family had a great stay at this house.

We really enjoyed this home. It is not fancy, but it's a beach house, it's exactly what'd you expect. The home has a very beachy, quaint feel and it is well equipped with anything you would need. We enjoyed the three bedrooms and bathrooms, even though we only had 4 family members, nice to have lots of space. The location was just awesome and I would echo the other reviews. Right on the beach, beautiful view and sunsets. The proximity to bay and the nearness of the ocean/beach were really awesome. You can walk for miles and miles. The parking lot next door was absolutely no big deal. We stayed for a busy 4th of July weekend and had no issues with noise, people or anything. You can build a bonfire steps from your door. You do have to navigate a few rocks, but unless you have real mobility issues you should be able to do it on your own or have someone give you a hand. The home is pet friendly and our pooch had a fantastic time roaming the beach and accompanying me on runs--the beach has lots and lots of hard sand so running and walking were ideal, numerous great hikes and viewpoints around. Great location and cute town nicely situated between Newport, Yachats and Florence.

Thank you very much for sharing your cabin with us, the whole family had a great time. Did a little crab fishing, they sure are good tasting, did some sight seeing helped our son and family look for place to buy, not yet but they will find a place, our daughter-in-law works for the school district. Save a spot for us about the same time next year.

Not fancy, but a wonderful little place. SOOOO close to the water, it's amazing to watch the tide dramatically rise and fall. We saw seals and sea birds, and walked out under the spectacular old bridge at sunset during low tide. So close to the water, and yet also walking distance to stores, etc. But when you're in the house looking through that giant picture window at the water it feels very secluded.

The place is cute, beds were comfortable, and we managed to cook a full Thanksgiving dinner. Wonderful weekend.

The view was amazing. It was wonderful to sit and watch the bay.

Love the view, the cottage, everything was very comfortable and accommodating. Would do it again in a heart beat.

We loved our stay. We saw amazing marine life everyday and wonderful views. There was some damage to the home when we arrived ( a small hole in the window) but it didn’t put a damper on our stay! We will be back!
Manager response:
We apologize for the broken window and are working on repairing it. Thanks!
Catherine A. Jul 2018
We loved the location and the big picture window looking out to the bay. Plenty of bedrooms and small bathrooms.

So much wildlife to view right from here. Well equipped home, kitchen goods, games, cards, beach toys, etc. This home wasn't fancy but it was just right!... charming and delightful.
Janet T. Oct 2017
This was a last minute substitution for our original destination and did not fully meet our desires. It was sufficient.
Casey H. Aug 2017
The view is wonderful and relaxing. It is in a very convenient location. Cozy, and a little smaller than expected, but nice stay in all.
Kelly A. Jul 2017
The location was perfect, within walking distance to various shops, restaurants, etc. The house was perfectly sized and had wonderful character! The view was amazing, we really enjoyed watching the sea lions from the back window every evening! The beach wasn't crowded at all, it was just perfect!
Thank you for a wonderful stay! We look forward to next time!

We have stayed in Waldport for the last 15 years but this home was the best so far! The views were amazing! I have stayed oceanfront many times and i found this better than oceanfront! We actually saw 2 seals! The home was just the right size. We actually tried booking our return trip but the dates were not available. We will be back for sure. Reviews hold a lot when I book a reservation and I hope future guests find this helpful.

An older home but very well kept and clean. Great views of the bay and bridge. Enjoyed the close walk to coffee in the mornings.

We loved it here, have stayed many times and will most likely be back.

We have rented Alsea Bay Cottage for years while managed by the family. This was our first time renting through the management company. Our cost for fees nearly matched the rental fee. Costly. We found the cottage with dirty bathrooms. The bed linens had not been changed. We found hair, crumbs....in the beds. Dirty dishes in the cupboard - food on the outside of the refrigerator. Weeds coming up through the steps entering the house with an unclean entry. The shower handle fell off to the touch. Even the drawers were dirty which contained silverware/utensils. Dirty cupboard liner where dishes, cups are placed. We love the cottage, Waldport, but with the extremely high fees, I don't see us renting the cottage in the future especially to have found the cottage so unclean. Bathroom floors not mopped (dirt, hair..) dirty rug, sinks.....but worst of all - bed linens not having been changed - inexcusable!!!
Manager response:
We’re sorry the guest arrived to a home that was not cleaned properly. The property manager has assured that all their requests have been satisfied.

The view of the bay, the closeness to the beach, It was a great week!. I must add that we left a family keepsake in the dishwasher when we left and the Vacasa staff was very helpful in locating it and shipping it home. Thankyou.

Nice place. Great view. Convenient location. Perfect size for our family of 4. We enjoyed watching people fish and crab, seals swimming by, and even a pair of bald eagles - all from the living room window or while sitting in the backyard.

Hope to spend two weeks at 190 Maple sometime in the future, the place is very relaxing.

This was the first time we have tried vacation rental , it was well worth it.
Susan H. Aug 2016
The location was perfect. We enjoyed 4 days there. The house was comfortable and clean. Plenty of bedding and kitchen supplies. The view was amazing. You get your own little beach.
David F. Jul 2016
We had never been to Waldport before, and were happy to see that this house had a relatively last minute availability. First, the negative: this house is RIGHT next to a public parking lot (40-50 spaces). Like, there is a small area of trees between the driveway and the parking lot, but that's it. And, the beach in front of the lot is not huge, so if you are looking for a secluded space without anyone walking past, this isn't it. That said, the lot was fairly quiet, and we didn't have any problems.

The house itself is really great--two bedrooms upstairs (one kind of small, but great for kids), one large bedroom in the "basement" (1/2 floor below the main floor), three bathrooms (one per level), good kitchen space, plenty of space inside. The house is much more spacious than it looks in the photos. Not much of a backyard, but the beach is right there. When the tide is out, there's plenty of room for a bonfire on the sand. When the tide is in, there's not much space.

The house is very conveniently located in Waldport, right in the heart of it all. An easy drive to Yachats, Newport, Seal Rock, Depoe Bay, and more. With the exception of the public parking lot, the neighborhood is pretty quiet.

Summary: the house is great, the location in Waldport is great, but it is right next to a parking lot, so keep this in mind if you are looking for isolation.
