The kitchen pairs light wood cabinets and white counters with stainless appliances, a gas range, and a subway tile backsplash. A six-seat dining table waits beneath an eclectic mix of chairs, with the path down to Austin Creek just outside the back door.

Cazadero is about an hour and 45 minutes from San Francisco via 101 and River Road — a scenic drive into a quiet redwood canyon. A car makes the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast easy to explore, from redwood groves to coastal bluffs. Cell service gets patchy in the redwoods, so downloading offline maps before you arrive is worth it.

The indoor wood-burning stove is not available for guest use. The outdoor fire pit is seasonal and wood-burning, and its use is subject to local burn bans.
