Great place, felt like home away from home. Dog got to run and play in all the redwoods, we enjoyed the hot tub. Would definitely visit again!

This was our third stay at Dreamwood. And again, we had a great relaxing time here. Being able to just walk down the stairs and be at the river is great. Whether to sit and sip on some drinks, or to play at the water with our young daughter. The house itself is very spacious and has all amenities (and more). Internet works great. And yes, there is a sauna. The location leaves little to be desired. A bit more than an hour from the Bay Area. With a Safeway for shopping just a short drive away. And some amazing scenery nearby at the coast (Sonoma Coast State Park) as well as in the forests (Amstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve). Or just hang out on the deck, have a BBQ (great gas grill), and enjoy the amazing and quiet surroundings. We have been here before as just us as (a small family of 3), with another family (8 people total), and now with a family friend (3 + 1 people). The house worked great in all scenarios. We have been looking into some other places in the area as well, but always ended up going here. And probably will again in the future. Because we know we'll have a great relaxing stay here.

Gorgeous, clean and tucked away in a beautiful location with a lovely back yard to spend your time in. Bidets in each bathroom to get a true clean feeling and sheets on the bed I'd like to buy for my own home. The garbage disposal seemed to be broken, but that was easily overlooked.

Whether you plan on kayaking down Austin Creek and into Russian River, or sipping your way through the western part of the Sonoma Coast wine region, you'll find a quaint town waiting to welcome you with relaxation and fun.

Where is Cazadero, CA?

Set in the western side of the Sonoma Coast AVA and surrounded by creeks, state parks, and wineries, the landscape is a beautiful blend of lush forest and Mediterranean countryside.

Just 30 miles northwest of Santa Rosa and 88 miles north of San Francisco, the opportunities for day trips to explore the rich history, culture, and decadent culinary offerings of the area are endless!

Things to Do in Cazadero, CA

Wake up and treat yourself to an indulgent breakfast of fresh local ingredients and innovative flavors at the Cape Fear Cafe. Spend a day biking through the winding paths and trails that run under the boughs of the sky-high trees. Boasting some of the best biking in California, these two-wheeled adventures will take you by the picture-perfect rows of budding grapes and meandering creeks.

Come experience one of the world's most renowned wine countries with a day of swirling, sipping, and enjoying! Start your tasting off with a flight of delicious wines at Sophie's Cellars. Showcasing some of the area's most delectable wines, you can start your flight with a clean, crisp Rochioli Chardonnay and finish with a dense glass of Pinot Noir from Flowers.

Plan a day to explore the wonders of nature when you reserve your spot on a canoe trip at Burke's Canoe Trips. Paddle through the gentle waters of Austin Creek as you make your way through the fairytale forest. Pull over for a few to enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool waters before dive into your riverside picnic.

Pick up some fresh local produce at the Cazadero General Store and head back to your vacation home to put your culinary inspiration to work with a mouth-watering meal in the privacy of your getaway. Share a bottle from the day's tasting as you create your life-long memories.

Day Trips from Cazadero

Pick up some small bites and drinks at the Cazadero General Store, then bask in a day of sandcastles and tidal pools on the Sonoma Coast shores. Just over ten miles from the heart of Cazadero, you'll be able to wander through the cozy town of Jenner, or pick a spot on the beach to call your own and watch the waves roll in. Or, drive a little further to the seaside community of Sea Ranch for a beautiful escape!

Walk the hills, ride the trolly, and don't forget to treat yourself to a sourdough bread bowl of local chowder in San Francisco. The 88-mile drive will fly by as you plan where to start first. Stroll along Fisherman's Wharf as the aromas of salty sea air, fresh seafood, and the soul-satisfying chocolates of Ghiradelli swirl around you.

As you drink in the local wine scene, paddle through the meandering creeks, or explore the artisanal shops and artists, Cazadero provides the perfect spot to take them all in. Leave the big cities behind and let yourself revel in a slower pace filled with adventure and relaxation.
