House in Gualala, California

OVERVIEW

Ocean-view main house + private cottage

Two homes, one address: the main house plus a private cottage sleep up to 10 across 3 bedrooms. Your deck is a front-row seat to the Pacific, with redwood treetops below and sunsets over the water. Just two miles from Anchor Bay's restaurants and Fish Rock Beach. Sea stacks, tide pools, and harbor seals frame the coastline. Summer fog burns off by midday, leaving warm afternoons for trail hikes and tidepooling.

A canopy of redwood treetops and the wide Pacific Ocean extend out before you at this serene architectural gem, spectacularly situated in the sunbelt of Gualala. Relax in luxe comfort, find time for hiking and yoga, and take in the natural wonders of the Northern California Coast.

This light-filled home is beautifully secluded on a hillside overlooking the ocean, just two miles up the road from the small town of Anchor Bay. Fish Rock Beach (two miles), downtown Gualala (five miles), the Gualala Arts Center (six miles), Gualala Point Regional Park (eight miles), and renowned wineries in Annapolis (20 miles) are all close by.

This peaceful property is a showcase of its surroundings, with a multi-tiered deck wrapping around three sides of the house. Sip your morning coffee outside, linger with a good book in the afternoons, and watch the nightly sunsets illuminate the ocean, the sky, and the treetops below.

Whether you spend your days surfing or beachcombing, the house provides a quiet respite at the end of the day. The split-level interior has been renovated throughout, offering all-new luxury amenities and appliances, rich details of natural wood, and windows framing the view at every turn.

At the heart of the house is a striking kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances and a live-edge center island. Gather around the dining room table for dinner and board games, retreat to the sunken living room for movies streamed on the smart TV, and sleep soundly in two bedrooms - each paired with a bathroom.

THE COTTAGE
A few steps from the main house, the standalone cottage gives your group a second living space with its own front door. Downstairs, a sage-cabinet kitchenette with brass fixtures, microwave, and full-size fridge handles morning coffee and light meals; a sofa with a pull-out bed faces a two-top dining table, so the lower level easily flips between sitting room, breakfast nook, and a private sleeping space for two.

Upstairs, a queen bed sits under a vaulted ceiling alongside a small writing desk, with a full bathroom -- walk-in tile shower, brass fixtures, terra-cotta floor -- a few steps away. A sliding door opens onto a private patio tucked into the pines, with a sectional, side table, and round dining table for outdoor coffee, sundowners, or a quiet end to the day.

SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Across the main house and cottage, choose from 3 bedrooms. Altogether, the property comfortably sleeps up to 10. The cottage adds a queen bed upstairs and a pull-out sofa bed downstairs.
